I've just bought my first passport and I've chosen Estonia to break my travel virginity. I wanted to know how the current immigration crisis is affecting you, from a balts perspective.

Also, whats the general sentiment for tourists? I'm from Aus and I'm traveling alone for a month. Ill be staying in Pärnu.

This is the edgiest guide to SF I've ever seen, it's hilarious and does actually look informative.

it was a while I've seen it, but you should check out the wave organ

Then there's the cable cars meme, Lombard street meme

As far as niche interest go, what you're into may shape the city differently. I'm a fan of pic-related and the whole bay area scene, so it'd be interesting for me to visit the places.

Hi,

Work is sending me to orange county and I know little about it.

What area do you think is the most fun? I don't want to have to be driving around a long time just to go out and socialize.

Any locals have advice?

Pic sorta unrelated. Not OC but nightlife area.

Which Orange County do you mean? There are several. It's like asking about Springfield, or Portland.

Well then don't complain lol. Besides Dubai is not even that expensive

Will going to Assisi be worth it?

I'm gonna be in Siena for a month over the summer through a study abroad program and I think going to Assisi for an afternoon would be a pretty cool thing to do but the train ride is over four hours and I'm not allowed to rent a car, and I assume a taxi would be too expensive. There are already overnight trips to Florence and Bologna through the program, as well as a couple other daytime trips, and I plan on using a long weekend to visit Rome.

>Will going to Assisi be worth it?
>an afternoon
There are better towns/cities closer to Siena to visit, but if you really want to go there, I guess you can. It's a day trip kind of town. Take an evening train there (DON'T go on the weekend, you'll be trampled, certainly during summer), walk around late at night when it's calm and quiet, then spend the day walking through the countryside around it and visiting churches, if you're into churches.
>>

I'd mostly just go there to see the Basilica and a couple other things, walk around a bit, maybe eat something then leave, which is why I just want to do it for an afternoon. It'd be hard to go on a weekday since I'll actually be taking classes there. I'm mostly just interested due to the fact that it's such an important pilgrimage destination. But, Siena does have stuff for pilgrimage related to St. Catherine which I'm sure will be cool to see though not as well known or popular.

>It'd be hard to go on a weekday since I'll actually be taking classes there.
Then prepare for a fuckload of tourists. We went there in high school, on a wednesday in June, and even then the entire center village was packed, theme-park style. You might not enjoy it very much if you're going there for the spiritual dimension. But the frescoes inside the basilica were nice, I'll grant you that.

306 KB,
I just got out of a relationship with my girlfriend of a year. We traveled around SEA for a bit and it was amazing.

We had plans to go to Europe together this year but things didn't work out.
I still want to go, but I don't have anyone to go with now. All of my friends are broke as fuck and I'm not even sure they'd want to go anyway.

The problem is, whenever I think about traveling alone, it just seems so lonely, boring and empty. It doesn't seem appealing at all but at the same time I really want to do it.

What are your experiences...

Went on my first solo trip over January to Bulgaria & Romania, literally only a week long but i actually learnt a lot.

Its really not that bad, you get to do what you want to do, when you want to and not worry about anything else, as someone that always travels with friends and family this was a big one for me.

Its easy to keep up with others over the internet anyway, i spoke a few times with my family and friends and that was good.

If you go to youth hostels, you meet people anyway. My...

Thanks for the advice.

Is Bulgaria a must see while I'm in Europe?
>>
>>1088499
I wouldn't say it's a "must see" but it's an experience which will stick with you. Unique alphabet and more eastern than any other country in EU will give that foreign edge over most other. It's a place you don't see a lot on the internet, so the feeling of discovery will be more potent. Tell me an area which you're interested in to tell you what BG can offer.

Either accept this number as a blanket fact or read 2300 word pages on the internet what&where and why.
Seriously, there isn't a single page that is under 1000 words. Goddamn it, USA.

>E Europe here, most of the time leave the change when it's ~10%
>Would prolly be more consistent in the US and actually bother calculating it

Also get them green texts going lads

>Either accept this number as a blanket fact or read 2300 word pages on the internet what&where and why.
This is close enough. You won't offend anyone by tipping 15% in a restaurant. Many do tip more, though.
>Only variation you need to know is that in bars, it's more often a dollar per drink.
>>
I hadn't even considered tipping at bars.
Like tip the bar-guy for pouring a thing into a thing? At least with waiters you get the arguments

>they make jack shit money
>the work is hard and it's all day

And I guess you can make the argument about almost any position, but come on.

This is why it's a meme.

/trv/, I need some advice.

I'm 21, depressed, suicidal, a smidge of masochism, and a potential for alcoholism. I was recently kicked out of the military about 4 months ago due to how severe it was. Even went to a psych ward twice. I was lucky enough to get a computer repair job in Omaha, NE with my friend. I live with him and another.

However, I would say that I'm closer to suicide now than I ever have been before. No, I will not go to counseling, be put on drugs, etc... Been there, done that. Didn't do anything for me.

For 2 years now I have...

I've done some road tripping in the UAE and out to the Omani exclaves. No risk whatsoever apart from some slightly maniacal drivers (better in my experience than most of Asia, but much too fast and slightly careless) and some police roadblocks to look for alcohol. There are evidently a couple of gray market liquor stores along the highway (that do not check for liquor licenses), and police in one of the smaller Emirates (Sharjah, maybe? Dunno) have been known to stop cars heading home to Dubai. Heard about it...

went to berlin in the summer and had a great time. The clubbing scene there is very interesting and unique but as you might already know the clubs can be very hard to get in.especially if you're a bigger group of people.
The locals have very strict policies in the clubbing scene and they should be respected. The most popular ones are near the Warschauer Straße.
Berlin also has tons of abandoned buildings if you're interested in those. We went to an abandoned amusement park called "spreepark"...

What do you guys do with downtime? I have been travelling all over East Asia. I am coming back to the states for 3 months in April then going back to Japan for a while. Any suggestions on what to do for 3 months? To short to buy a car or enter a rental agreement. I don't want to stay with family for more than a week or 2. Was thinking of staying with friends but looking for better ideas? What do you guys do between travelling?
