Wouldn't be hard to do. /pol/ already uses it. It will help with our discussions.

We have determined that flags will not benefit this board and will likely decrease the value of certain posters.

For example, guy who has lived in Japan for 5 years goes back home and replies in one of the many threads on Japan with an American flag next to his post would be considered a worse source of knowledge then someone who showed up in Japan a week ago but thinks they're an expert on everything Japanese and posts with a Japan flag.

Boards like /int/ and /pol/ where the majority of discussions are based on directly talking to people of either a specific country or many different countries are different from the type of discussion we have here. It's likely that flags would just add more trolling and shitposting instead of making any significant improvements to genuine travel topics.
>>
Every time this is brought up the answer is a clear no. There is not a single benefit it would bring. On the other hand, it would bring lots of downsides.
>>
>>1076642
No. Youre not the first person to ask. There's literally no good reason to have a flag if you're traveling around, it will only confuse people.

If there is a wild, ancient and fascinating ritual in the history of mankind through the Andes, in the Altiplano it is the Tinku dance or fight to the death to achieve fertility of crops and appease the ancient gods for their thirst of blood on the land, which provide fruits it should be satisfied with the sacrifice of the fighters until after fierce fighting killed.

The Tinku is an Andean ritual and folk dance performed in northern Potosi - Bolivia. The meaning of the Tinku word is "meeting" (from the Quechua word tinkuy, found). The meaning of the word Tinku in Quechua is "meeting" and in Aymara means "strike". ceremonial ritual Tinku Tinku is a pre-Inca ritual practiced annually for several days in the communities of the northern region of the department of Potosi. The Tinku is from the highland region inhabited by the Laymes and Jukumanis.
It is practiced as a rite ceremonial mingling with the custom, philosophy and religion of the indigenous peoples for their mystical devotion. Within the Tinku it is also music and dance (the communities usually enter march touching the rates of Jula-Jula). Fighters among which stand out are the "Warakaku" (Honda, in Quechua) and "Makhanaku" (one of the most similar to judo fights).
The Tinku is a fight melee stimulated by alcohol, which generally corresponds to cheaper and harmful, with the usual consequences of taking a high ethyl alcohol content generating altered states of consciousness leading to more aggressive. They are trained from childhood to fight to the death, they carry a full head of leather garments like such a hard hat as metal, gloved hands into claws and bronze edges.

With amazing physical prowess are twisted, implementing and replicating blows between opponents, similar to boxing combat.
According to tradition, the fighter who has been defeated must shed their blood in abundance as a sacrifice or offering, this, for Mother Earth, commonly known as Pachamama these communities, so that in that year the harvest is abundant.
Allowing to continue the product life cycle of bloodshed and generation of life through the abundant and good crops for the crop year. This ceremonial rite now a battle between members of the above communities are made between men and women "Imilla wawas" (single women) and children from both communities. Clashes correspond to a social order established ie males to be heard by the other men to marry and must have participated in this ritual. Lately the fights are being controlled and supervised by an arbitrator, which are the highest authorities of these communities; Jilakata and the Mayor.
In recent years the presence of the police and neighbors who organize their "civil police" have better controlled violence occurring during the event.
These meetings are often used in the middle of the stones hands were the most lethal blow to the opponent, this procedure is currently banned. It is an impressive gathering where amid the fury of the parties after the battles of the bodies of the fallen are swept and quietly evacuated through the narrow streets, secretly leaving trails of blood as silent witnesses of hell generated by the blows, face deformed and bloodied to start the joy and receive the gifts of blood initiating the great noise of the celebrations of rural communities, more alcohol consumption included.

Okay /travel/ hear me out.

I'll be in between jobs from march 7th till april 1. At first I was thinking about going on a solo trip for that period. But the thing is I have a concert march 25th I really need to go to. So now I am limited in time from lets say march 7, till march 25. About 2 weeks.

So what is good to travel to for 2 weeks. I was planning on going from city to city and staying in hostels so its easy to meet up people.
I am from the Netherlands and I've been to most west European cities.

Generic East Yurop tour (Baltics, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania/Ukraine for instance) should keep you plenty busy and not break the bank. You could probably also spend two weeks in either of the mentioned countries.
>>
>>1076721
Think i'll end up doing something like that indeed.
But still open for more ideas.
>>
I don't understand the question, you could go anywhere on earth for two weeks.
You want to stay in Europe? Or would you consider places like Morocco or Turkey?

I'm a NEET and I think traveling will help me out of this, get on a plane an go to Thailand maybe, its cheap and it seems pretty cool, people seem friendly, I'll just avoid the red light districts. Any experiences getting out of the NEET life?

Well the problem with being a NEET is not having money, since you're oh well, NEET. As long as you have resources, just do it. Even better if you have someone travelling with you.

On the other hand I don't know shit, might be different than in my country. I've heard you get some SICK welfare in Scandifag countries.

If I didn't have a job, I would be a NEET today.
Basically, I just leave home to work. Work + nothing to do = money.
I am not sure if travel can change your life, it didn't change mine. Sure it helps to talk to people, I wish I could do it at home, but after some time I felt like an android starting every conversation with "Hi, where are you from?" and I lied sometimes too. "Why are you not traveling with your friends?" - don't say you don't have friends "You know, it's expensive to travel, so my friends don't have money".
Traveling was a great experience, I loved to talk with so many people from all places in the world, but sometimes I felt really, really lonely. "I am here, why am I not having fun?". "Why can I be happy like those people?". And the post-travel depression hits me pretty hard.

Dammit anon, Im sorry to hear that. Maybe try working on that on your next trip? I try to grow on every one. Ie be less of a pussy with women, get better at being alone, try for sex to not be the end game, try harder to connect with locals, etc.

I like being alone now and when people ask I say I got tired of waiting for friends to come along.

The truth is that it does get lonely sometimes. But I think that's normal for everyone. Try to surround yourself with good friends or make some if you don't have too many. Sometimes you get out of things what you put into them. It sounds lame, but join some meet up groups, find local groups on Fb for mutual interests. Essentially, if you become a fun person, people will gravitate towards you. I'm still an introvert but people would never guess it. Just work on yourself and eventually things fall into place.

Hi. I have never posted on /trv before, but I have questions, and you people are the geniuses of the Internet. A buddy and I are planning a trip to Mexico next year (Tijuana to be exact). We plan on doing the obvious for starters (bars, clubs, hookers, beaches), but I am having trouble figuring out what to do there because everybody on the internet is a tourist. I want to know what GOOD shit there is to do there. I dont want to buy worthless trincets and barter for woven baskets. I want to have fun. We are both 21. I need to know the best clubs, best bars, best brothels, etc. Tell me what experiences you have had and if you recommend another city over Tijuana for the above listed activities. Also I want to do drugs there.

Thanks motherfuckers

Dude Tijuana is a dangerous fucking place. If you go, not dying should be a major concern.

Doing coke in tijuana is an awesome idea, but there's a 10-15% chance you'll be straight up murdered while looking for yeys. If that doesn't bother you, fucking blast 8-balls a night for pocket change bro. Just go down in a blaze of glory if SHTF, you don't wanna end up in one of their jails
>>
I was there 5 years ago and walked across the boarder with a backpack and no one asking for any ID, dont drive there is my first advice. If you really want to go to mexico ONLY for tijuana just walk, everything you are looking for is a short walk
all the bars your looking for is near something called like, "revelucion" or revolution ave/st/dr, whatever. Its literally their version of sunset blvd. It has all the trincets shots, american style mexican restaurants, bars, etc. but its also where the "safe" tourist hotels are. I got nice room for 20 bucks a night, and it was better than a motel 6 but it was safe, nice lobby a security guard and everything. And yes i know you could walk a mile away and get one dollar authentic meals, and see the real mexico which i did later. but if your looking for the dirty americas play ground its a short walk from the border. when i was there it was dead, bars empty, restaurants empty, and peole running at you trying to get to buy their trincets. I met up with some europeans at a emty bar an got shit faced with them, beers were a dollar, and they wanted to go to a strip club, we walked around and found a strip club. a 2 minute dance with the most beautiful hispanic girl cost 10 dollars. but then the madam said it was 40 dollars to fuck her. i didnt want to do that. I left when the guys started doing coke infront of me (you can get coke in the strip clubs) as i was leaving i opened the wrong ddoor and there was a chick getting fucked by a tourist, this strip club had tiny closet rooms you can fuck in right next to the stage.
no joke on another trip i got a ride from a former cartel gang member who was inprisoned and found jesus or soemthing and had kids in the states he was sending money to, this was in LA. I asked him about tijuana and he said when tourists die there they have it coming, they bring in drugs like oxy and pain killers, he told me it was like if you had a yard sale and someone from a different neighbor hood came... cont
>>
>>1077321
over to your lawn and sold his stuff, his quote "your going to have to fuck him up"
so dont bring in any drugs, dont act like an idiot. the european dudes went to a strip club asked for sex and asked for hookers and they got it. i read this from a wiki style street sex forum is to just go to a taxi driver and ask for a brothel or ask for a girl and they will drive you to the club, in those clubs you can rent a room for a night andd get a pick of the girls, and read it was a condom must policy. but do your research because if you know of a good one the drivers will tell you its closed and take you to a cheap one because the owners offer a finders fee to the drivers for bringing them to a less than perfect club. but be careful, the ex cartel body guard guy told me when he was in prison they beat the shit out of prisoners to get information and for tourists to get a bribe. i dont agree with anything your about to do besides get really drunk but i was just too happy to share what ive seen and heard from other people. so if you go get a cold corona with lime for onne us dollar and remember the guy online who gave you some good advice

Hey, /trv/, I'm thinking about going to the UK. I've traveled but I've never been to Europe before. I'm Anglo, so I know the UK is like absolute pleb starter tier, but I don't care. It seems really interesting and fun.

I want to bantz with/buy drinks for locals while watching foosball at some cozy pub that's been in business for like over 100 years. I really like history (though I don't have any interest in Stonehenge). I'm really interested in 18th century Britain as well as Victorian times and the Imperial century. Medieval is cool too. I'm open to London, but it seems more multicultural and touristy than what I'm looking for.

>Girls
Sorry, inevitable. My goal is to hook up with two kinds of girls. A really posh girl and a slag. I imagine the slag will be no problem, but do posh girls ever slut it up? How to British girls feel about Yanks? (I'm a normie--look fine, dress fine).

Where is the best place to pull a Kerry Louise-tier slag (pic related). I'm assuming not London. Newcastle? That's where Geordie Shore was. Any good places to try your luck with ulta-posh girls? I have money so that's not really a factor.

Thanks.

Lad, you've got more chance of pulling a sbike from south london than you do newcastle mate.

no 1 - don't go by shitty programs like geordie shore for things like this.
Going to Westminster or The Strand for posh girls, any bars or clubs you'll be sound lad. Safe.

Thanks m9, pretty clueless that's why I'm asking. So basically just stick to London for nightlife?

I don't really mean for this to turn into a girls only kind of thread so any other general recommendations beyond shit in London I can easily research I'd be thankful.

I did give myself some time to travel around and I am planning a week trip to Shanghai.

Hi /trv/, my mom's going to be going back to visit Spain, and I'd like to get a SIM card for a Spanish mobile provider before she leaves.

She currently doesn't even have a cellphone, and barely knows how to use technology. I know she could just buy one in Spain very easily, but I don't want to have her try and buy one and install it by herself. So I'd like to buy a SIM card online, get her a phone and have her all set before she leaves the country.

While on the subject, which carrier would be best in Spain anyway?

I apologize if this is more /g/ than /trv/, but I figured travelers deal with this more frequently than gentoomen.

Carrefour Móvil:

http://www.carrefour.es/telecom/internet-movil/index.html

SIM: 10€ in any Carrefour supermarket (including Carrefour Express), includes 5€ of credit. You want the data SIM, not the voice SIM. They sell them in the checkout line.

DATA TARIFFS:
1€/day unlimited data, billed per-day. If you only connect during one day (0h-2359h) you only pay 1€. Thus that SIM will keep you going for five days without a recharge. You get full HSPA data up to 100MB/day, then it drops to 128Mb/s.

1GB Pack - 19€, good for a 30-day period, unlimited data. Once you pass 1GB, speed is reduced to 128Mb/s. You can either re-up for another 1GB or switch to the 1€/day after that.

APN Settings:
apn: CARREFOURINTERNET

--------------------

Vodafone:

http://vodafone.es

SIM: 18€ in any Vodafone shop, includes 18€ of credit. There is a Vodafone shop every couple of blocks in the cities, and every small town has at least one.

DATA TARIFFS:
0,50€/day unlimited data - no P2P, no VOIP, consistent high volume gets you booted to their GPRS network at lower speed

3€/week unlimited data - same as above

IPAD SIM:
15€ includes 15€ of credit. VOIP works.

IPAD TARIFFS:
15€/month - 200MB, then speed drops to GPRS
32€/month - 2GB, then speed drops to GPRS

All Vodafone SIMs can be recharged in ATMs that have the "4b" logo.

APN SETTINGS:
APN: ac.vodafone.es

Another option is Happy Móvil:

http://www.happymovil.es

SIM: 10€, available in any Phone House shop, also most other independent mobile shops.

DATA TARIFF:
0,09€/MB - EDGE speeds, billed in MB increments.

All Happy Móvil SIMs can be recharged in "la Caixa" ATMs. This may be an interesting option because they have extremely cheap international calls - around 0,06€/minute to much of the world - and calls between Happy Móvil numbers are always free.

Hello all traveling brothers and sisters.
On this board on several occasions we've played the game where one person posts a picture, and the rest of us have to guess where it was taken.

Today, I come to you with a picture to which I cannot give any clues other than these: It is most definitely in a major developing country. China, Brazil or the likes. It was used as a cover for the French publication "L’état du monde" discussing up-and-coming countries.

My own verdict: The foreground houses do not look very Chinese, but may well be. Shanghai, maybe Guangzhou?
