What you're doing would work if you were a guy.

Issue here is that women's clothes require darts and wedges to fit over the bust properly. That shirt likely fit well enough before you tightened it up. If you read up on bodice pattern making, or check out a fitted women's blouse, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Your options are to either add stretch panels to side or back (shirring, elastic panel, etc) or to add fabric...

Hey, /diy/.

Need to construct pic related, any ideas?

Don't know what parts to use, how to bring the main pipe down to an adapter for a valve etc.
Also don't know what sort of valve to use to inject the oxygen into the tube.

It's for a hybrid rocket, so needs to be fairly strong. No woods or plastics. Weight is not an issue.

Feel free to ask me anything you need to know.

Has anyone ever had to do something like this?

I'm moving to a new apartment, and in my new building, each apartment has its own corresponding "basement" which is basically a single room w/ door found in the underground hallway, accessible by the stairwell. Most people use these for storage but I've noticed mine is fully equipped with electrical outlets and heaters. It's big enough to set up some sort of office or vidya center (inb4 cuckshed) but I'm not sure how I'll get my wifi down there.

I've seen these wifi repeaters...

Just like property management won't let me set up a repeater in the common areas, they certainly won't let me run cable from my front door, down the stairwell, through the basement hallway and into my basement unit.

dude, just run a cable down there through some shaft, along water pipes or something like that.

even if somebody found out, and it would have been against the houserules, its not like theyd kick you out...

Can anyone give me a absolute beginners guide to hacking? Like if someone who never touched a computer aproached you and ask you to teach them in the art.

Good luck becoming "spec ops" with an IQ that just skirts the line of retardation.

I can't have that. I wan't to aproach this at first as a little hobby and then maybe move on if i get a hang on.

Hey guys, i want to have a lottle 4 usb charger thing flush mounted somewhere in my dash. I hate cigarette sockets ones as they are absurdly unreliable and slow charging and look like shit so i want to hardwire in something like pic related, except with just 4 usb slots and 1 on off switch which is for all of them. How would i go aboit wiring something like this up, anyone got any wiring diagrams or good ideas? The main criteria is all 4 have to be able to charge at maximum speed and be able to charge any device. Thanks guys

>>924433

>charge
>maximum speed

you do know USB charges at the same rate no matter if its plugged into a 12v cigarette lightter or the wall.. the actual charger only charges with 5 volts no matter what.

you wont get a faster charge by using a direct USB than an adapter since its only going to put out the necessary 5 volts regardless

please google next time
>>
>>924442
It is all about the charger not what it is powering the charger. If you use a 1amp charger in the 12v it will charge slower than a 2.1 amp charger in the 12v...
>>
>>924433
Run a heavy guage wire from the battery to where you need power. Splice in a fuseable link closer to the battery. Then split into 4 smaller wires right before your charger thingy.
That's all I got.

102 KB,
Alright metal workers, all of you know what a pain in the ass it is to remove one of these from a rusted auger shaft. It could fall right off in less than 5 minutes or you could fight it for hours on end. What is the most effective ways to remove a house bearing from a shaft? I've been tinkering with an idea of using flat bar with slots to insert chains, chains, hydraulic pump, and a plate to insert chains. The flat bar will slide behind the bearing when possible, the chains will be attached to both the flat bar and the plate, and the pump will be positioned between the...

Spray with wd40, wait a little while. Warm up the casting with a propane tourch pretty good than focus the heat on the bearing, once the bearing is nice and hot, tap the 4 corners of the casting with a hammer. Basically a hot bearing/housing vs cold shaft will equal success.

V8s are relics. I love V8 engines but they have no place in the modern world. You can do as much or more with inline 4 cylinder engines with a fraction of the capacity of conventional naturally aspirated V8s.

Guys, I am wondering how to make a custom anvil.

I have so many anvils as it is, but they're all pretty bland and uninspiring, so it's hard to bargain them to other anvil hoarders. I just want to be rid of them.

Don't customize your anvils. It will only decrease their value. What you need to do is find people who know their shit (aka blacksmiths. you know, poeple that actually use anvils) and sell to them.

Anvils are designed certain ways for certain reasons. They are tools, not collectibles. If you try to sell a customized one to someone who knows their shit, they will just laugh and walk away.

Unless your anvils are cheap cast iron capped shit that noone wants anyway. Then do wtf you want, they aren't...

28 KB,
sup /diy/. milfag here, ive been planning on getting out at the end of my contract but dont know for sure what i want to do when i grow up.
ive been thinking about doing something like electrician, because electricity and electronics are hobbies of mine, and id rather do 1-2 years of trade school instead of 4+ years of college. i cant stand being in regular school so im pretty sure i wont do well, and im more of a hands on guy anyway.
any electricians care to chime in on how they like/dislike it? if the are happy with their career choice or not? tips, tricks, or anything...

There are a lots of different kinds of electricians jobs. You can work in a factory repairing and replacing stuff. Working in construction can be physically hard but can pay well if you are in the union in the USA. Had a high school friend who worked for GE and traveled all over the world working on generators on dams. After working as an electrician for a few years I decided to do sound and video which is a low voltage electricain. The work has been interesting but I probably would have made more money being a union construction electricain. For me work needs to be interesting...

I want to convert my arcade stick to have a female printer cable connector (pic related) instead of having its own dedicated USB wire.

How difficult will this be to do? I have some soldering experience but would essentially be going in blind.
31 replies and 4 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
That is an USB-B connector
Modifying it should be easy, as you'd just need to run 4 wires from the current connector to the new port.
And you'd need to cut some space for the connector.

Why do you want to do this tho? Seems rather pointless.
>>
>>922532
you'll have to file/cut/melt out a hole for the centronics connector. you may have to pick the wires a little carefully ( 25? in a printer cable )

but why? do you not want anyone else to use it?
>>
>>922532
Are you trying to bring out each switch on an individual pin? That's going to be a bit more work than just replacing the connector.

As a "budget" anvil I see nothing wrong with it.
Having said that, you're going to get a lot of feedback as contact is made due to the beam not being solid.
For instance, when you are working your material on one side of the flange causing vibration in the web.
>>
I see, would an I beam work better? Also I would fix it to a stump or something
>>
Yes an I Beam would be better as it is formed steel.
You want the web of the material to be as thick as possible or as you can afford.
The Web width would need to be small as possible.
That gives you less deflection when striking.

What's a good insulating foam to use for a cat shelter like this? Basically, I want to fill all the areas between boxes where I don't have sufficient whatchamacallit insulation so boxes don't move around.

Someone told me some of that insulation melts plastic. Sounds like bs, but confirm. I also don't want the cats breathing any hazardous fumes.

some kinds of insulation eats pvc, you can't run electric wire over some insulation for example, specifically the hard board type stuff

you could use the horrible rolls of wire wool insulation type stuff, perhaps some of those airbags you get for packing parcels or stuff it with packing peanuts.
expanding foam?
jelly?
concrete?

Asbestos. And napalm.
>>
>>924314
Shelter for what? Stray cats? You're trying to over engineer this thing.

The vast majority of animals are more than capable of keeping themselves plenty warm on their own in cold air. What gets animals in the end is moisture which inhibits their coat's insulating qualities, or drafts strong enough to leach the warm air trapped by their coat.

A single wall box with a protected entrance to keep drafts at bay and a vent hole near the top to let warm moist air leak out is all animals need.

Straw...

Brewing and distilling are two totally separate things that take totally different equipment, and distilling at home isn't recommended for two reasons: One, if you fuck up you can blow your house off it's foundation, and two, if you do it wrong you can literally poison yourself to death.
>>
Yeah^^ that's right (sorry I'm kind of new) you can google the differences and probably learn both processes pretty easily.

Hello /diy/ I woke up the other day to see that 2 rows of tile on my kitchen floor have buckled and are raised up now. Two rows of 5 tiles and partial tiles against the dishwasher. Two full tiles and one partial have cracked as seen in pic related.

Is there a way I can just remove and replace the cracked ones and get the others to lay flat again? There is some shit on youtube about drilling holes in the grout and spraying some glue shit under the tiles but I don't know how I'd force them back flat on the floor again.

Any help is appreciated.
