Maybe I'm just retarded but I don't really understand sheev's plan in episode 6. I get that he was trying to make Luka give into his hate and turn to the dark side and all that, but what does that really accomplish for him? Just because Luke gives in to the dark side doesn't mean he would automatically be loyal to sheev, wouldn't he have just tried to kill sheev?

Vader was the one who suggested that they try to convert Luke rather than kill him. He didn't really want to kill his son and intended for them both to kill the Emperor and rule the Empire together.
The Emperor was looking to trade up for a younger apprentice and was hoping Luke would kill Vader and take his place. When Vader brought Luke to the throne room he turned them against eachother before they could turn on him. Aside from grabbing him from behind while he was distracted neither one was a match for the Emperor alone, so he would get the strongest of the two as his apprentice.

I've spoken to my friends about it and they've all said there were multiple points in the movie where the audience erupted in cheering and hollering and shit.
I'm not a mega autist and I don't expect absolute silence, but I recently had a very unpleasant movie experience where an audience was too excited and it involved people forcing out ridiculous laughter and cheers and people discussing how much they were appreciating the movie during the movie. It was the new dbz movie, btw. And one of only two showings in my major first world city, so the hype was pretty high for this specific audience and the movie was completely intolerable because of the fan boys.
Star wars are just movies. They're fun, good movies. They're well crafted. They are not the peak of the medium nor are they even close to the best story telling has to offer. I will wait a couple of weeks and watch a mid morning mid week showing when all the babies are in school or wait for the bluray.
Quite frankly I am beginning to see what Alec Guinness was on about. There are normal people older than me buying toys and people telling themselves that a movie is the height of their existence, and a corporation encouraging it for financial gain. I'm disillusioned by the entire thing at this point. It's a movie, not an event.

So now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that it was pretty good?
Not without some major flaws of course, but as a Star Wars movie I was pretty satisfied. It strikes a balance between being a sequel/reboot to the Original Trilogy while introducing enough new elements to make it a story of its own, one which I think will find its own feet in the next two instalments.

The prequels are not bad movies. They are simply not STAR WARS as braindeads in the aforementioned groups understand it. Now Disney has catered to these, combined with the normie "fans" who don't know anything about Star Wars, and produced Avengers IV: Lightsabers, without an ounce of creativity.
