>Star Wars will never have clear well-positioned shots like this
Why is having clear easy to follow shots loathed in modern cinema? Why does everything have to be a fucking tracking shot?
senpai
>that slow entry into the Death Star
JJ would have a panic attack. The Falcon should be charging at ramming speed.

Dont forget some shaky cam and dutch angles
The lengths that some of you are going to try and defend this movie is rather pathetic. Good movies don't need the viewer to take leaps of faith to explain character development nor does it completely rip off a previous film like this pile of shit does. It's just not a good movie and that's not ok but move on with your lives.
I mean
Do some of you guys legitimately think that Rey is as memorable and iconic of a protagonist as Luke Skywalker is?
Or that utilizing a Death Star storyline for the 3rd time is a good idea?
Start voicing the negatives of the film loudly and hopefully we can get Disney to hear our complaints and make the next one better. What improvements can be made to make 8 a great film?
>What improvements can be made to make 8 a great film?
Ignore neckbeards on /tv/ who honestly and unironically defend the prequels

What is your favorite Western movie and why is it your favorite?
My fav is Tombstone. Brilliant cast, great story, and phenomenal pacing make it a 10/10 western to me

How do you guys think people will look back on this scene, say 10 years from now?
Iconic, a blunder, or just general indifference?
Serious question:Why, during the end fight, did he keep beating his ribs/stomach/whatever? Everyone around me in the theater kept looking around at each other with that "wtf is he doing?" look on their face when he was doing it. The fuck was he doing?
>>64129580
To make him even more edgy.
>>64129580
Hitting where he was shot by Chewie. The pain fuels his anger and makes him more powerful in the dark side.
I think it may be because he knows that pain fuels the Dark Side, but he doesn't quite understand the entirety of it yet, so he does some stupid shit like hit himself to hurt himself even more because he thinks pain literally fuels the Dark Side.
IDK though.
Anakin, have I ever told you the tragedy of Darth Tenebrous the not so wise?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Tenebrous
>However, this was not the end of Tenebrous, who ensured the survival of his own consciousness into altered midi-chlorians—which he labeled maxi-chlorians. Those maxi-chlorians would then migrate not into the Force, but into Plagueis, the "diseased one". Not possessing a Bith's precision, Plagueis would never suspect Tenebrous' consciousness was inside his body, infecting cells with maxi-chlorians that would cut off the host of its Force-sensitivity. In order to fulfill his goals, Tenebrous sacrificed his ability to sense the motion of the future, something he no longer required since he already knew his future.[1]
>As his body died, Darth Tenebrous entered his apprentice's body and slipped into his cells. As the retrovirus propagated, the Bith gained access to Plagueis' powers of foresight. At that moment, he discovered and felt Plagueis' own death at the hands of his apprentice, which was only visible as a smear of darkness. That vision horrified him; Plagueis would die too soon, and Tenebrous would not fulfill his ultimate goal—seizing and becoming the Chosen One when he would appear.[1]
>Seeking an answer to understand Plagueis' complacent behavior, Tenebrous threw again his mind at the future, but could see nothing, as the retrovirus infected Plagueis' every cell; his apprentice was now robbed of his foresight power. Wholly giving himself to panic, Nome escaped Plagueis' body to think about a way out, only to discover his mummified remains. Time had passed, but the Sith Lord was unaware of it. He then wondered if his foresight, instead of being eliminated, had been twisted in upon itself, forcing him to endlessly relive his death. At that moment of realization, the Dark Lord wished he still had a mouth with which to scream.
Palpatine likes to talk outta his ass I give him that
>Cosinga Palpatine eventually learned of his eldest son's friendship with Hego Damask (Darth Plagueis). Due to his estrangement with the younger Palpatine, as well as Damask's support for Tapalo's bid for the throne, Cosinga immediately attempted to thwart any further contact between his son and the head of Damask Holdings. After Cosinga failed to coerce Damask with veiled threats, the Muun contacted Palpatine, who had been away on Chandrila with his class at the time. Palpatine, enraged by the revelation of his father's attempt to interfere in his affairs, desperately implored Damask for advice. Recognizing the potential that emanated within his young protégé, Damask took advantage of Palpatine's fear and hatred for his family, and thus insinuated that he had to do whatever it took to become emancipated from his father's control.[1]
>Palpatine's defining moment came when his father personally journeyed to Chandrila with the entire family in tow to retrieve his heir. Once the family yacht had left Hanna City Spaceport, Cosinga and his son clashed. In order to keep him away from Naboo during the elections and out of Damask's reach, Cosinga planned to send his son to Chommell Minor, where he would stay with the Greejatus family and complete the Legislative Youth Program locally with Janus Greejatus. Palpatine did not accept the arrangement, and verbally attacked Cosinga. The altercation brought out their long-standing yet barely concealed hatred for each other, until Cosinga revealed to his son that he had wanted to kill him from the start. Overcome by years of repressed anger and frustration, Palpatine instinctively drew upon the power of the dark side and slaughtered his entire family and their security guards. When the deed was done, he contacted Damask and was assured by his mentor that none would ever learn of his role in the slaughter of House Palpatine. Damask arranged for all evidence of the crime to be purged, and for Palpatine to return to Chandrila.

It's hard to take seriously a Sith lord from the same race as the Cantina Jizz Wailers.
Now that the dust has settled we can all agree that Adam Driver saved the movie and gave the most interesting performance in the history of the Star Wars saga, right?
i genuinely loved his performance. even though it seems that mostly it was just a well written character with different motivations to your average movie villain.
but even the little things like his walk and the way he swung the lighsaber around was cool so yeah he was my favourite character in the film
I've heard so many different descriptions from people of who he reminds them of. my girlfriend just calls him "emo star wars guy".
>"he reminds me of a black kid who's dad walked out on him."
>"he's like a sith jihadi."
>"he's such a whiney bitch; I hate him, but I love hating him!"
>"reminds me of elliott rodgers."
>"was he supposed to be like a school shooter guy?"
>"reminded me of dark helmet."
he's the picture perfect millennial: insecure, impatient, entitled, edgy, angsty and blames everything on his family. his spiritual journey echoes the downtrodden hopes and dreams of the modern day youth.
by far the most iconic villain of the decade already. almost everyone I know either LOVES or HATES the shit out of Kylo.
>>64129481
>the way he walks
I fucking loved this. his voice when the mask was one was awesome too.
>jewbrams didn't even include that walk and saber reveal shot in the woods that was in the trailers, fucking idiot.
I can't wait for him in episode 8.
>Am I deluding myself, Jaina? Am I making the same mistake as Grandfather? I have days - most days - when I’m as certain of this as I’ve ever been certain of anything. And then I have sleepless nights when I wonder if the path of the Sith is a lasting solution for peace in the galaxy, or if that’s my ego speaking for me. It terrifies me. But if I were motivated by ambition, then I wouldn’t suffer this doubt, would I? Jaina, I can’t tell you all this, not yet. You wouldn’t see it. But when you do, remember that you’re my sister, my heart, and that part of me will always love you, no matter what.
>"Tahiri, in the long term, it's easier to kill a powerful enemy than it is an apparently weak one. If you bring down a giant, you're a hero. If you kill something weak—even if it has to die—then you endure contempt. Being willing to be despised to serve the common good…that's the mark of a true Sith.
>“I’m not afraid of dying. I’m afraid of surviving… and getting to the end of the war and discovering that I’m all alone. That everyone I knew and cared for is gone.”
>I just killed my aunt. I grew up with her. She was there for me. We fought a war together. I have to face her son. I have to face Ben. What have I done?

3/10, uttter garbage.
Anyone that says different is a fucking mindless consumer, a Redditor, a feminist, or a child/manchild.
Nothing about this was good. It was a remake of ANH. The characters were forced. Acting sucked. The villain was a little bitch, and his "crossguard" lightsaber was literally the most retarded thing I have ever seen. It felt like a Marvel movie. It had a cliffhanger ending with 10 unanswered question by the end. Rey was a fucking Mary Sue.
>Implying the prequels were bad
Episode 1 was a 5.7/10. Episode 2 was a 7.2/10. Episode 3 was an 8/10.
>buh buh the acting wuz SHITTT!!!
hello Reddit! It was actually nuanced and if you can't see that you have no place here. I was not the best, but the actors all played their roles decently well.
The overarching story was one of the best I've seen. The movies were on par with the originals, which are honestly overrated desu.
Can you remember anything from TFA? No. Plain looking cast, stupid plot. Terrible, and if you say different, you again have no place here.
>tfw it will still never touch Avatar
Fucking lel.
>Pasta thread? Pasta thread!
What the fuck did i just watch? no seriously, what the fuck?
i dont know where to start with this monstrosity of a flick. if it wasn't for the obvious faces and lightsabers it would just be the usual high budget flick with the thinking that fancy effects and explosions will make a 'movie' good. fucking wrong.
i couldnt tell if it was at the start, beginning or end due to the lack of structure and plot - infact im still struggling to see what the plot was? the whole thing dragged out to see some old fuck standing on the cliffs - greeeaat.
what really fucking me off was how they mocked the dark side to be a laughing stock. that pathetic joke making the clone troopers run away when kylo was throwing a tantrum.
-kylo was meant to be the evil sith boss but actually got KILLED by a girl using a lightsaber for the FIRST FUCKING TIME. the fucking dindu put up a good fight, they both have zero fucking knowledge in using one, let alone the force in general. what the fuck?
how can anyone possible criticise the prequels with pieces of liberal shit like this one? there were no characters in TFA with any presence, or something that made you think 'wow i like this guy'. the prequels had mace windu, anakin, obi wan, darth vader, darth maul, etc. what did this one have? the characters were fucking dull as fuck, im actually angry as im typing this i just cant get over what i just watched and i need to vent it somewhere.
trust disney to fuck up this bad. i dont even need to mention (but i will anyway) the obvious racism with the dark side being all white, and the 'goodies' being a melting pot of spics, chinks, dindus, females etc. how can this racism even be allowed?
sadly ticket sales determine the success of a film, and so people will feel obligated to think this flick was good but in reality it was tediously boring, which lacked a plot, characters with any redeeming qualities, and made the dark side a joke.
Going to my second viewing tonight. Can't wait, to be honest with you family.
>>64127913
You must be fun at parties
> Hurrr she's a mary sue
> Durrrr Kylo Ren is weak as fuck
No you fucking faggots. Pay attention when you watch a movie.
During her fight against Kylo Ren, she's weak. She defends herself quite well, but that's about it. She loses ground and falls back all the time against him. Until the precipice, that is.
Now, did you notice? When they're lookning at each other, saber against saber, pay attention to Rey's expression. It's changing. She's scared. Now her eyes. Look at them. Those eyes are eyes of someone angry. Her mouth. That's the mouth of someone about to spill hate.
Now, notice how the combat turns on her favour? Did you notice her strokes? Those strokes are not of someone calm and composed. From that point onward, she's litteraly dominating the combat. Kylo can't do shit against her, because she received a huge powerup from her anger. Yes, she's letting the Dark Side overflow her
This is not the first time we've seen this in Star Wars, be it in the series or in the movies. Think about Obiwan vs Maul. It's the same, actually.
this is the face of someone calm and serene in the face of conflict, senpai
>>64127879
That still doesn't explain why Kylo lost his ability to paralyze people.
Did Chewbacca's bowcaster also cause amnesia :^)
>>64127951
That's the face of someone that knows she's about to win because she just learned what she should do to make it happen.
Decent show. Producers made a mistake releasing 4 episodes online? Ratings are in the tank and now their are rumors of cancelation
>>64125127
SyFy doesn't know know they have a good show on their hands even if Scorscese handed them his lifetime achievement oscar and said they made some good shit

I just finished watching the first four. I liked it. I hope it doesn't get cancelled.

Excessive swearing and violence and shitty tarantino stuff. The good men arent likeable at all. Drags for too long. Boring dialogue that isnt
