Challenge of the day: Create a character for your least favorite faction
Having trouble getting into GW's US website for some reason; how much do Dryads cost? Amazon wants $80+ for them, which seems a bit absurd.
So here's the list I am planning on bringing to the LVO AoS GT 2017
2000 pts, Allegiance Order [Battle Trait: Defiant Avengers]
Lord-Celestant on Dracoth w/ tempestos hammer and thundershield (leader-general) 220 [Command Trait: Reckless]
5x Liberators w/ hammers and shields, and prime w/ grandhammer (battleline) 100
5x Liberators w/ hammers and shields, and prime w/ grandhammer (battleline) 100
5x Retributors w/ 2x starsoul maces 220
5x Prosecutors w/ with celestial hammers 100
1x Gryph-hound 40
Dwarf Lord (legacy) on shieldbearers w/ rune weapon and shield (leader) 160 [Artefact: Obstinate Blade, or Relic Blade depending on enemy]
Runelord (leader) 80
Cogsmith (leader) 100
10x Longbeards w/ great axes and shields, standard bearer and musician (battleline) 140
10x Irondrakes w/ icon bearer and drummer, and ironwarden w/ trollhammer torpedo 220
10x Irondrakes w/ icon bearer and drummer, and ironwarden w/ trollhammer torpedo 220
Cannon and 3 crew (artillery) 180
Organ Gun and 3 crew (artillery) 120
The idea is the lord-celestant will be my general. With the Reckless command trait and lord of the host command ability the stormcast eternals will lead from the front rushing into melee. Prosecutors go wizard/warmachine hunting.
The dwarf lord will have the longbeards nearby to keep him using his command ability on organ gun and irondrake targets (think markerlighting). Runelord buffs rend where needed. The irondrakes will put preassure on the enemy, with the trollhammers for monster hunting. The cogsmith and gryph-hound will babysit the cannon and organ gun which do the heavy ranged hitting on monsters, heroes, and big units.

Just ordered some Sigmarines off Ebay.
Just the Skellyman guy, two 5 man squads of the base troop, and three of the big guys with extra big hammers.
Is this a fun starting force?
>You are one of three characters: Samson, a spoiled bard, Dyrus, an axe-wielding prince crowned by a successful rebellion, or Rene, an orphan adopted by a high-ranking Director of an declining Empire, now a prepromoted archer-lancer. POV will rotate between them on a thread-by-thread basis, with a HIGHLY unlikely chance that someone else might someday take a chapter.
>These protagonists' motivations and goals will very likely come into conflict with one another's.
>Character Death is always a possibility and sometimes an inevitability (this is Fire Emblem after all), but your actions can very easily influence who lives and who dies.

"Is Felix being kept secure?" Assistant-Director Rene looks her weapons over as she inquires with Director Belinda, the two of them sitting on their mounts just outside Gravern Keep.
"Of course," Belinda assures her, "he and Sara are being kept in the utmost comfort by the castle's staff. We treat our guests well in Central, willing or not. And with Veiz, Cicero, Kristina, Ludwig, and even lady Anais leading the castle guard, there's no way a single mage will cause trouble."
"Of course," Rene says, as though it was silly of her to ask, before turning towards the bandit before her, "Conrad, it would really make me more comfortable if you fell back as well. If any of the four of you were to die, then all hope may as well be lost for the Empire."
"And leave my men without me?" Conrad scoffs, raising up his Double Bow. "Bad enough that my wolf brothers have to answer to Saye, I'm not going to abandon my Tarvosian brothers to hide comfortably in a castle!"
"And I suppose I won't be able to convince you otherwise..."
"Don't you worry your pretty head, Rene! Not a single man is getting past my archers! The rest of you won't need to lift a finger!"
You, Dyrus, are actually discussing this same fact as Rene in war council, just a ways from Gravern. Your mother, stern-voiced, says, "how lucky that this Conrad is going to be right on the city. I'm going to need to borrow Iote's Shield again, Winona. We need to hit Conrad hard and fast with everything else we've got if we're going to swiftly eliminate Conrad."
Yes, though your mother is trying to maintain her cold facade, it's very telling that she's made it an order that Conrad not survive this battle under any circumstances. The vicious bandit who dealt the killing blow to your sister is going to die.

"Staying back while you and Via go to avenge Laurise..." Belle folds her arms. "It feels. Wrong, as a bodyguard."
Marduk wraps an arm around her side and gives her one of his tired grins, "hey, only one flying fighter can risk getting close to Conrad. The faster they finish this, the sooner you can protect them again."
"You guys take care, alright?" Winona pleads, "if that man killed you just like Laurise, then I don't know what I'd..."
"Don't talk like that, sis!" Nia says, smiling sadly. "After this... Laurise will be able to rest easy, see all of us do her proud."
Petting the wyvern you've still yet to ride into battle even once, Via nods. "The four of you will have plenty of opportunities to save our lives in the later legs of the battle, anyway. Isn't that right, Dyrus?"
"Oh? Uh, yeah," you say, sounding more than a little obviously lost in thoughts, "let's hurry, Via."
You and Via ride over to your mother's side, before you dismiss your wyvern, sending him far away from the arrows the lot of you are about to rush into.
Close by are Nahuel, your mother, grandfather, and a large amount of Fortune Company members and knights you don't know the names of.
"So the war ends here," Darren muses. "Hauteclere, I know you want to take your daughter alive, but if it comes to it..."
"I know, Darren," mother says, eyes shut, "I know.
"Refusing the pride of our people by not riding a horse and proudly working alongside legions of Garou, murdering a princess in cold blood," Nahuel remarks, turning the subject from Rene, "it pisses me right, right, right off that a guy so vile exists!"

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a thirteen year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.
>Rules
At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.
In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins
Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.
Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process
I hope everyone has fun.

You and your friends rise soon after the sun, putting on your snow gear and running out the door.
Most of the villagers are still asleep, so you really don't see anybody as the three of you run toward the nearby woods, planning to enjoy a peaceful stroll together.
"Oh! There's a lake near here that's great for skating on!" Suno says cheerfully, hopping over a log. "We should go there!"
"We didn't bring skates," Eighter reminds her.
"Oh, come on, Eighter," Suno says. "We don't need them, we can slide around in our boots. It's lots of fun! The ice is strong, too, so you don't have to worry about breaking it."
Eighter smiles. "That does sound nice."

A CRASSUS ARMOURED TRANSPORT
"That's..."
A lot of silver. You lost count at 'a lot'.
You gently pick through the relics and treasure. At least, all the relics and treasure that you were able to carry away in two hands and your pockets. There's enough in the abandon tower to require an entire militia to carry out.
So much silver, and it's been left to rot in an outpost near the coast. Who would leave it there? Why was it there?
You are Louise Lacerte! The beautiful, and rich, princess hero of Gallete!
Originally, you came to the coast for a campout with your two best friends. Just something to get away from the stress that has been happening at the castle.
And-
Well.
You struck it rich!
All thanks to exploring a big, creepy looking garrison. Half of the structure has already started its slow descent into the coastline. Most of the wood has rotted out of it, and any furnishings have decayed into dust.
Except the treasure chests, and they weren't well-hidden. You can't entirely say they were unprotected, because Kayda almost got her block knocked off by a trap at the door. Yet, past that, there really wasn't anything stopping someone from going in and taking it.
"How much is it worth?" Kayda counts the silver coins that she could carry in her two tiny hands.
"A lot." Keiko reponds, her eyes seem fixed on the glimmering pieces in the light of the campfire.
"Do you know how much it's worth?" Kayda turns her attention to you.
You shake your head, "I don't really deal with money. I just charge everything to the castle."

"Is silver worth a whole lot?" You hold one of the pieces up to the embers. It proudly displays the image of a dragon.
"I don't know how much but-" Keiko reaches into the small pile of riches she carried out, retrieving three tiny bits. "These three coins would be the castle's allowance to the Shrine for a whole month."
Wow.
"Uh, that's a lot. Is it worth more than gold?"
"Gold isn't used for money." Keiko carefully tucks the silver pieces into a pouch. "I've only seen silver money."

It's been a busy sort of week, not that I'm complaining, of course. Hell, I'm actually enjoying all of this work, I mean it isn't as exciting as fighting pirates, but hey it passes the time and it's a good way to work out stress, and forget how long I've been awake for anyways.
I sigh, and it turns to a yawn as I lean against the mop I'm cleaning the deck down with. The warm morning wind blows around me, making my duster and hair flutter around as I close my eyes, and just keep yawning.
I shake my head, well, I'm pretty sure I've gotten the deck spotless by now...even if everyone else is having breakfast right now. Probably should've gone with them, but I've been half gourged on fear since I stepped onto this boat, so I don't really have any reason to eat when I could be working. I sigh and lean over the railing as Serri makes another lap around the boat.
"Could go for some coffee though" I sigh, lifting my cap up as I stare out at the sea, and endless blue field, carrying on out yonder farther than my eyes can see.
And it's clearer than any water I've ever seen, calm to. though I could just be imagining it, or getting hopeful.
I tilt my head, and motion for Serri to stop moving, and the second the seaking does, the sound of water splashing and rolling around stops, leaving only the wind, and occasional bird crying in the distance.
What do I do?
[] wonder if this is the calm belt
[] get some coffee, and mingle with the other marines
[] Take a leave and get on serri, staying close to the ship of course
[] Peek over the edge of the railing
[]show my friends this

[] shrug, and work till Commander bellow drags me off to tell me something
[] mess with my shooters 1d100
[] get a little home sick

The fact that mtg community is pretty terrible is hardly a revealation to anyone. The main problem I had back in 1999 when I started playing as 11 yo was that people much older than me are fucking terrible people who would scam trade you a bunch of commons for your chase rares. I'm not even talking teens, I'm talking full grown men.
I've never met unwashed smelly neckbeards or autists who can't take a loss which throwing a hissy fit though. I'm not saying they don't exist. But nobody seem to mention the way people try to scam less experienced player out of their lucky pulls.
PS: I learned my lesson though: I went on to sell worthless cards to younger schoolmates. And I don't trust anyone anymore.

LAST TIME ON SONG OF SWORDS
Hole in the Stars
Wait, actual progress?
Cannibalism!
New folks get accustomed to the game
Song of Swords is a realistic fantasy tabletop RPG that draws inspiration from historical fechtbuchs, weapons and armor. Its combat system is fast and it can be used for both fantasy and historical/mundane settings.
Call of the Void is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.

Is the Mega down for anyone else?
Alright, since someone in the last thread suggested I bring it up again:
How does Kindred society function? The idea of a vampire government seems to be a default assumption, but without a state with control of property and taxation I don't see how that would work. Especially with Vampire population being necessarily low, I don't know how Kindred society supports anything more than a Sheriff.
