So what became of all the old edition war? I hardly see anybody even interested in 4e anymore.

> I hardly see anybody even interested in 4e anymore
You answered your own question.
How does it feel to know that 5e has completely won the edition wars and 4e is the resounding loser?
If 4e is "so easy to DM," then why does it have the biggest rift between number of games and number of players out of the D&Ds?
>>48155446
Because no matter how you try and claim that roleplay doesn't need to rely on complex rules, the edition boiled down to throwing the biggest numbers you could with a boring, sterile "everybody is special" mechanic to soothe idiots who couldn't figure out that if the figher was too boring they should have played a Paladin, Ranger, Barbarian, Eldritch Knight and any other number of melee characters with abilities and spells.
Do Space Marines suffer withdrawal from their combat drugs?
Taldeer a cute.
A CUTE
>>48155221
Physically? Likely not.
Mentally? Probably. The thrill of combat can be just as addicting as any other drug.
Winners don't do drugs, silly.
Unless they are Eversor Assassin. And those are less about being a winner and more about making sure everybody in the general vicinity loses.
What's the fantasy setting equivalent of a NEET?
>>48154167
Nobles?
>>48154167
A character in a fantasy setting who is not in employment, education, or training.

So a noble?
Hey TG, I need some help with making a few DH 1 characters (like two or three of em). They can be random but at least slightly interesting. I only need the stats for them, I can make up the back story. But if you have an interesting story for one go right ahead and have fun with it.
>>48153960
Could you be more specific? Like you need people to roll the characters up for you, and you'll tack on backstory and such?
>>48153960
Here are some Dark Heresy Character Generators:

Basically. I already have two chars but the gm wants us to have four to five. I have no idea what he is planning.
Gonna try my had at a Civ thread. To get started we'll need 3 votes for the Race and Area we'll be playing in. The first race and area to receive 3 votes wins.
From there we'll see what happens.
Some of the races will be harder to play as others are just hard for me to write for. Races like Orc, Human, Elf, and Dwarf are easy to play and write for and as this is my first Civ thread I'd recommend them, but I'll try my best if you decide to choose something else.

/tg/s thoughts on Total War Warhammer?
>>48152849
I casually enjoy it, haven't had the chance to burn my life on it, given my work takes up most of my life now. Shit is fun. Situational awareness required if you're not playing babby mode. The Chaos warriors are badass, but I don't like that they can still be shaken mentally. They're the legions of evil and the undead, how the fuck can they be afraid of a few soldiers?
>>48152849
Looksfunbut I ain't getting it until there are a few more factions available.
>>48153442
Actually, I've read that people who own the game get factions free as they come out. Chaos warriors was like that.
I know /tg/ is bad a magic but does a horror commander exist?

>Greel is Horror
Well, that's news to me, but yeah, Gatherer ruling confirms. Hate those little changes in creature types. I can understand where it's necessary for streamlining, but straight up adding types with no real justification is bullshit. Greel should have stayed Spellshaper with no additional type.
>Laquatus' Champion is not Legendary. It never was.
I've been living in a lie!
Anyone have real world experience using the d30 system? Like using the one roll for multiple results etc.
Is it easier than carrying a bag of dice? Is a d30 table worth fleshing out for home brew systems?
>Anyone have real world experience using the d30 system?
No.
>Like using the one roll for multiple results etc.
Sounds neat, but making multiple rolls is nearly effortless.
Mapping one roll to multiple results sounds more tedious.
>Is it easier than carrying a bag of dice?
I doubt it.
>Is a d30 table worth fleshing out for home brew systems?
Again, I doubt it.
So pict related never caught on?
>>48152035
I have given my players a D20 and a D30 weapon for fun before.
In the frank Frankness of the frank future, SoB still look more feminine than GW sculpts edition.

Apparently there was a very recent DE faq clarifying some stuff, has it fixed the passenger shooting? Has it brought us slightly out of the depths of "at the bottom" tier? I need some good news /tg/
>>48158122
Its a FAQ not a update.
FAQ's explain rules they don't change them.
The passenger shooting was always supposed to be snaps.
The only change is the relic that's +1 of the fear fuckery has been brought into line and so no longer affects fearless/ATSKNF just like it's non-relic version.
>tfw you see a lone Ratling kill a Demon Prince in close combat
He was at 1 wound, granted, but the image of it was just hillarious.
Th Ratling the proceeded to snipe out a Sorcerer at 1 wound after a bad perils roll, killing both of his HQs.
He laments not having a way of "upgrading" this guy.
So what does /tg/ think of A Very British Civil War?
The setting seems really interesting to be honest.
I'll be the fascists as they have the best symbol. IIRC the Brits had to ban the wearing of non government uniforms in public in the 1930s so perhaps the setting isn't terribly far fetched. Setting would be of limited interest to most Americans I think.
The Basic Premise:
When King George V died in early1936 he was succeeded by his playboy eldest son Edward, who became King Edward VIII. In real life he abdicated that December, so he could marry Wallis Simpson. In this alternative timeline he refused to abdicate, and in May 1937 he married her. This flew in the face of advice from both church and state, and the stand-off between the king and Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin only came to an end in 1937, when the government resigned. Parliament was eventually dissolved - ripped apart by the ensuing constitutional crisis....

>Similar nationalist stirrings were taking place in...Cornwall
I do wish people would stop pretending that Cornwall is anything other than an English county with an unusual history that they emphasise so as to have something to distinguish themselves from fucking Devon.
What is the most obvious clue that your party is dealing with a powerful magic user?

In D&D 3.5e, what made a rogue unique was their high skill points per level as well as their diverse skill list. In terms of pure skills, only the beguiler and bard trumped them, and the latter only if he relied on the incredibly cheesy combination of the "Bardic Knack" alternative class feature and the "Jack of all Trades" feat.
5e introduced backgrounds, a very flavorful and cool new way to give characters certain skills that might result in unusual combinations such as stealth focused fighters. While I generally enjoy this, I can't help...

I don't have my 5e rulebook to hand, but isn't it basically that they get double proficiency on half their skills and at a certain level they can go "Oh, I rolled a 15" regardless of their actual roll?
>>48149704
Rogues are the only class with an archetype that gives a feature to allow you to do anything you can do with your hands at a distance, while having the mage hand be completely invisible.
Pickpocketing, showmanship, and opening doors/chests/picking shit ahoy.
>>48149704
Skill monkeying was never very good in 3E and the Rogue was beaten out by Factotums and Unseen Seers anyways.
What's your favorite possession related to /tg/ that isn't a game?
Old minis, probably.
Muh owlbear.
>>48149416
DM's little sister.
Is it okay to get your character killed off when you're bored of playing them?
Nah, that's for quitters. Killing everybody else and becoming new BBEG is a viable option though.
>>48148764
Just retire them
Why deliberatly have no fun
>>48148905
Retiring is just as unfun as having your character jump off a cliff. going out of your way to make a heroic death however is a good time.
Hey guys anyone want to revive thing game outside of the steam group? Current version is Alpha 8.45.
