New to GMing, thinking of starting a group with some of my friends. They are all new to the tabletop RPG experience, so I was wondering which would be best for them. If you have any opinions or suggestions for other games, please share them.

Depends on your group's needs. Savage Worlds seemed to have worked for the beginner groups I played with pretty well. So did FAE, though that one needs a bit of explaining.
If they want to start with D&D, there are quite a few options.
5e is the most popular, you'll find lots of help with that.
Dungeon World is simple, fast, and whatever else you decide on you should read the DM-ing guide part.
If your players like a bit of tactics and complexity for combat, 4e could work,...

The rules are sophisticated enough for a skilled GM to like, simple enough for a newb to easily get the hang of.
I was wondering about how feasible merging rangers and barbarians would be.
Thinking of it, they do similar things when barbarians aren't focused solely on raging. And the AD&D barbarian class seemed to point in that direction.
So, /tg/, would merging these two classes cut down on class bloat?

Rangers and Barbarians both cover the naturalistic survivalist warrior guy pretty well, so I reckon that you could merge them into one class.

Do orks value gold that much?
Since their sense of "zoggin` bootiful" is something made out of sturdiest, spikiest and meaniest things, gold doesn't really seem that good to be used since it is not a sturdy metal. Also orks use teeth as currency, so gold has even less uses.
Would 40k orks (Blood Axes or Freeboters) trade with humans for something other than vehicle scrap/ammunition/weapons?
I remember at least one big name Freebooter having some variety of spiffy gold plating on his teef.

Yes. He was a pirate-y fellow who loved making profits, and sticking with the party was a huge net loss day by day.
He was edging ever closer to abandoning the group when he died. (Not a deliberate maneuver on my or the GM's part [as far as I could tell], he just got overwhelmed.)
There's a tournament arc coming up in this 5th ed game of DnD I run and I'm looking for ideas for competitors. I've already got the important ones figured out, but I'd like to pad the roster with interesting NPCs.

I've played it and ran it somewhat. I personally like it for its crazy and strange (no pun intended) setting, but that is for Numenera; I picked up The Strange but did not like the setting as much.
It plays fairly easily I'd say, I like that any character can attempt anything, so even the big brutish warrior can attempt charm, but not as easily as the silver-tongued rogue, so to say. The class systems are interesting enough, and the whole character creation really sparks a lot of my creative juices when I look at it.
What I feel it does best is the skill...

Except Dehydration can still let you untap it with certain Red effects like those that give an extra combat step or Act of Treason style stuff, and Black can still sacrifice it for effects.

The matter of what you saw at the forest still bothers you, especially since you weren't able to find the body of the Einzbern Master. Maybe it was taken for some unknown purpose, maybe it was disposed of, or maybe the Master was kept alive. Regardless, it's not a loose end you're content with leaving as it is. With that in mind, you ask Tokiomi to send out a familiar in search of either the Einzbern Master or any trails that could lead you to them. While a little on the vague side, Tokiomi agrees that he'll dig up what he can, though he doesn't seem optimistic given that there isn't a trail from the forest to follow and that the one responsible for this is Assassin, of all Servants.
With that matter attended to, the question of what you yourself will do comes to mind. There's no real issue with you heading out now, but the risk of doing so and the lost sleep you'd get are certainly notable detriments.
