Repopulate is the closest there is to a Elixir in Pauper. I'm not shure Chronicles is released in MTGO so Feldon's Cane might not be common online but if your playgroup allows it, it was common on paper.
So hard to find Commons with everyone fapping and wasting money on standard now.
I just want a fucking Goblins deck.
What do you think about Forked Bolt to replace Chain Lightening? Adding two and two spark Elemental.
>>46642049
FB seems kind of redundant with Death Spark; Rift Bolt would be more equivalent. I don't think Spark Elemental is good in goblins.
ok so im fairly new to D&D im wondering how can you kill something with an AC higher then 20? is it possible? cause im finding monsters that have like 26 AC
What level are those monsters? Your attack bonus increases with level.
Plus there's magic, which usually doesn't even roll to hit, it makes THEM roll to live.
>>46641589
Attack bonuses, gear bonuses, shit that bypasses regular AC, etc. A nat 20 is a hit no matter what someone's AC is too.
>>46641589
Your attack bonus gets added to your roll
Any other fa/tg/uys still play AD&D 2nd edition? I might just be nostalgiafagging but I legitimately think it's better than the other editions.
>>46639208
As a long time Pathfinder player who wants to switch, explain why. Not just for Pathfinder, but all four other editionsand, if possible, any other general fantasy systems.
>>46639338
I've tried 5ed and it really seems like its more of a videogame than a table top game. They made combat more "complex", but its quickly devolves into spamming named attacks like your playing some MMO, which I personally fucking hate. Also the emphasis on the "polished" combat system takes a lot of the focus away from roleplaying and tactical strategy, the two reasons I play DnD at all.
>>46639208
The writing and the settings were extremely well put together. Later splatbooks were lacking in good crunch.
Why is it that players these days can't resolve issues within civilization with their fists?
Bar fight? Better murder the fuck out of them with a sword. Scuffle in town square? Bring out the fireballs.
Because +2 to punch, +7 to sword.
Muh optimization.
It'd be nice if they chose to do nonlethal with a sword

So, I've heard the term "storytelling game" used a bit around here, usually in a negative light. But what exactly is a storytelling game? Why do they have a stigma associated with them? Or is it just a case of pic related?
>>46637958
Some people believe that RPGs should have just as much of a 'game' component as a role playing one. So when games pop up with rules-lite books that emphasize narrative over stats or systems, they see that as defeating the purpose of RPGs.

Basically this and OP pic related.

Hey /tg/. The weed is freaking me out. Can we create a homebrew game with a homebrew setting and rules, based around being a paladin and the idea of an inronically heroic knight.
Also knight, paladin, and chivalry thread.

I was talking about Solaire.
Malifaux General: I can't find the old OP edition.
What Wave 3 model do yall want the most? I really need Hayreddin and Big Jake.
Dead game with a dead thread.
>>46630754
There's just not much to discuss since there aren't preset lists and so many possible combinations of scenarios.
>>46630754
in my city it's got a decent following but i guess unlike 40k there isn't a huge following because it's about characters and the game isn't that big
Is there an optimal way for shuffling a magic deck?
>>46624161
Put all the cards into a stack. Sort it out into 5 or 7 piles. Stack the piles together. Sort them out into 5/7 piles again (same number). Put them together. Shuffle as desired.
This helps break up the clumps of cards, especially sets of 2-4 that Magic frequently gets. The reason for 5 or 7 stacks is to separate those clumps, but also so that similar cards won't be next to each other. If you had 6 stacks, then you would start to see patterns in the cards as you go through them after sorting. For Magic:...

The rules state that "washing the dishes" is the best way to randomize your deck.
>>46624161
>>46624567
this is bait, but I'll bite
shuffling your deck in an optimal way would be against the rules, as randomized, does not in fact mean 'equally distributed'

I dont know if this is the right place to ask this, and Im sorry if its not, but I didnt know where else I should go.
Me and a friend of mine have been working on a card game for the past couple of months (its a competitive game like MtG and Yugioh) and its going really well. People genuinely like playing it.
How do we go about getting the cards printed?
Is there a good program to use to design/make the cards?
If all goes well, is there a company we could go through to get the cards produced on a larger scale?
Has anyone on /tg/ made a game before? How...

What's your game like?

Glad you asked, I actually run a board game testing company along with my roommate.
Normally, the people who bring their games to us usually have their card designs in something like Adobe InDesign or Illustrator (Usually the former) and they usually will look for a professional printing company that will take care of all of that.
I would look into board game companies who have became self-published, and see if one of them would be willing to publish your game after trying it out.
I can't...

>>46639847
You need a huge investment in tools and supplies.
Then investment 3D design software.
Also, extrusion method printers are objectively the worst printers.
>>46639847
Been using that exact same printer at school. I'll just say that when it comes to 3D FDM printing only get into it if you want it as a new hobby. Don't bother ever getting a 3D printer just to support another hobby if you're not interested in 3D printing itself.
Lets brainstorm ideas and stand ins for armies we wanna play, this can be for models that are no longer in the game you play and didn't get a chance to buy, stand-ins if you're on a budget, or just want to give your forces a different flavor
Im not sure if this counts, but Im going to give WFB a go (ive had 6th and 7th edition recommended to me so I'll look there first) in 15mm with minis based like this.
Just started laying the groundwork to base these, planning to use them as Empire or Bretonnia, and all being well, the decreased size and 3 guys to a base (counted as a single model for wounds and attacks purposes) should make even a fairly small battle look large by virtue of having lots of little men.
Plus its cheap as chips, both in minis and scenery
>>46638396
and any time you face an opponent using normal scale minis you can imagine it's an army of halflings

A horrified and ragged looking man appears on the TV screen, looking like someone ran his head over a grind stone. His eyes have purplish black bags under them and his hair is an absolute mess. Clearing his throat wetly, he fumbles with his papers, his hands shaking seems to struggle to breath. He straightens his suits collar, staring at the camera with watery and weak eyes.
"Harahum" He mumbles, reading through some notes as another man walks behind him in a daze, before the first clears his throat "I..the rumors and hearsay you've all no doubt heard are true...rome and the vatican city are...they're nothing but rubble now"
He looks down, like someone forgot to twist the crank in his back.
"We..still aren't entirely sure what happened, no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the..er attack" The man says uneasily, tugging on the white shirt under his suit "And.."
The man falls back, his eyes blank as he stares up at the ceiling, like he had just seen some truly unexplainable.
He reaches into his suit's coat, and slowly opens his mouth to speak.
"This is the end isn't it" He says, sounding more machine than man "The end of days...it's all true, what you heard, some unidentified...massive serpent thing was spotted over the holy city before its destruction along with some kind of fiery creature"
"Now, to those of you who are religious, I don't think I have to say why this is bad" he says, slamming his hands on the table before the feed suddenly cuts off, with a nice red technical difficulties screen.
"And he was just about to get to the good part to" I sigh as I lean against Maria, as she gently runs her hand through my hair and looks down on me with a real serious expression on her face
"Please tell me that it was Fraust and not you for once" She says, placing her hand on my cheek.
I smirk and then grin, crawling up to look her in the eyes.

"Actually, just this one time, it wasn't me" I say happily as I nuzzle against her
"Oh, good" She says oh so warmly "I...you know I don't think I would've cared if it was you"
"Oh?" I ask, almost teasingly as I poke her nose gently "finally seeing things from my perspective then?"
"I don't think I ever will" She chuckles, her blood red eyes glowing like gems in fire light "I just don't care anymore...about,...

"And then you'll open this door for me" the headmaster voice chuckles as I growl and sit up.
"Oh wait, I was just being polite wasn't I" He laughs happily "Brother, open this door for me"
"Still as lazy as ever then, Ulysses" Horsefur sighs heavily as the door snaps open, nearly off its hinges, and Maria cuddles closer to me, trying to hide behind me
