Just got into Savage Worlds, and I wanted to do a fantasy-type game, but with mechs. How would I handle that? Do I just stat them up like characters, or do I use the vehicle rules?
>>47064406
Use the mech rules from the Sci-Fi companion.
> unironically playing Savage Worlds
There is nothing good about Savage Worlds.
>>47065901
Yeah, then fuck off and leave it for the rest of us.
Does this make a good campaign setting? Can it even be done?
>>47063718
a campaign through the jungles of bang-bang-duc would be pretty good.
Or an Omnian monster hunting campaign through Ubervald, possibly could easily rijigger Dogs in the Vineyard to do that.
>>47063718
As serious campaign? Nope. For fun? Fucking yes.
I'd reckon the difficult bit is to give it that Discworld feel to it, Pterry's brand of whimsy isn't exactly easy to emulate.
I think one of the suptg threads had someone who managed to nail it, misplaced the link though. If only that really was Pterry pretending to be that OP
Hey, /tg/, I'm not new to tabletop, but I never played 4th Edition. My players are now looking for a high fantasy game and I'm wondering if 4e would be suitable. I know it was hated at the time of its release when 3.5e was popular, but now that the dust has settled, has your opinion changed at all?
>>47063696
4e is a great game, don't let the haters hate.
However, it's not D&D. D&D is shit and 4e is great.
>>47063696
It's a good system. It's not the best for roleplaying, but D&D was always more about combat than storytelling. It's actually a pretty easy one to learn for new players too
>>47063719
Uh... Okay? I don't mind the MMORPG powers system seeing as I'm making a high fantasy setting, but still.
Have you ever met a noble or ruler in a game who was actually a really cool guy? What's the best way to run a cool noble?
Someone who does his job rather then doing some bullshit? Good intentions and competence seldom meet in aristocracy, but still. Probably the best way to be a good noble is to do nothing outside of emergency management.
>>47063470
100% Mercutio.
Saint Louis IX, Charlemagne, Charles V, Don Juan of Austria, Aelfred the Great, Canute the Great, Frederick II, Bladwin IV, Melisande of Jerusalem, Roger of Sicily, Felipe V of Spain, Pope Innocent III, etc.
Good rulers did exist. They were never perfect but that meant well generally and were very competent.
How do I win at DnD 5e so hard my group never plays it again and we move on to another system
What's the most broken stuff I can do
Kill yourself.
>>47062973
Sit down and talk to your group about using another system like a responsible adult
Come back after your balls drop and we'll get back to you.
Does anyone have any good water boss music? I want my players to fight a giant underwater boss.

you fucking piece of bad-taste subhuman shit
here's an idea; post one that doesn't take an hour and a half to fill in.
Do gods and legendary heroes intermingle with the civilian population in your setting?
What goes on in my setting is my business and my business alone. Why the fuck are you collecting details about everyone's settings anyways?
No, I prefer keeping them separate. I like having churches around as political entities, and if gods walk among us, what purpose would churches serve?
>>47062815
Why wouldn't a godking occasioanlly walk amongst his people to re-affirm his control over them or bless them with his presence?
How much plate armor is too much plate armor for a PC to wear when attending fancy, diplomacy heavy, events in a game?
Is the armor penalty vs dipomacy rolls like a wizard's movement/combat penalty for wearing armor only for all races? Or is it more like rogues i.e. anything below studded leather armor is fine?
>Is the armor penalty vs dipomacy rolls like a wizard's movement/combat penalty for wearing armor only for all races?
Only if diplomacy is based on dancing battles in your setting. Otherwise, the standard penalties for a social faux pas apply, whatever they are for your system.
>>47062459
And that's only if wearing heavy armor is considered a diplomatic faux-pas.
Armor can still be pretty fancy as long as it isn't battle-scarred and covered in gore (and even then, some barbaric societies would probably like it).Quick Grimzor, fetch me a barrel of blood. My armure is far too pristine for the count's ball.
Of course my lord. Would you like some intestines to adorn your shoulders, too?
Do you even need to ask, Grimzor?
>>47062408
How about treating things like the setting treats them instead of trying to get some kind of tg consensus on how much you can minmax at the nobel dinner you fucking sperg?
Is there a table top RPG for fallout? I mean if you look at the pre-fallout four system is is kinda set up like a d100 game.
>>47062172
There is literally a fallout RPG that uses the exact same system as the first 2 games.
There's Fallout tabletop, by original developers. I used to download pdf, but I don't have it right now.
I don't think it was very well designed though. Then again, I don't think SPECIAL is a good system to begin with.
>>47062172
There's one but it's not very good. I'd recommend adapting Savage Worlds for it since that works quite well.
And Fallout is actually a hybrid of GURPS and a d100 system.
>want to play elf barbarian
>GM won't let me
How do I or you deal with bad feels
>>47061742
Call him something else besides a BArbarian, just use the Barbarian rules. Create an interesting, but succinct backstory (1-2 paragraphs) explaining why this elf is a barbarian. Come up with a clever/cool name in lieu of Barbarian.
Or hang your head and mope. If your GM has no legitimate opposition to this, you're good. if there is a valid reason then you just have to accept it.
>>47061742
I try to play with a GM that doesn't suck. Usually works for me.
>OP is playing Edge of Empire
Hey!
I am currently doing some worldbuilding and running out of ideas for small noble-houses. So, here's my offer to you:
Tell me the following things,
so I might use them in my worldbuilding;
> Name of your Noble House
> three sentences of story and context ( more is of course possible )
> Some Named Characters with their Names
> DESCRIPTION OF THE COAT OF ARMS
and I will
> Photoshop you a Coat...

Adding on: Your Coat of Arms may be as fancy as you like. Although it will take some time, I am even on Board for drawing a new helmet-style or two.
Current Helmet Styles I have drawn and can use as decoration for the Coat:
> Walled City with Halftimbered Houses
> Spartan like Helmet
> Knights Helmet
> Goat / Ram Helmet
> Scull Helmet

Sure why not.
> Name
House Monroe
> Context
This house was founded when Sir Arthur Monroe led a daring nighttime raid to relieve a besieged fort. The king, who had been trapped inside the fort, elevated Monroe to the nobility as a reward.
> Named Characters
Arthur Monroe (Founder)
Jerome Monroe (Current head)
Cecil Monroe (Heir apparent)

Cool House! :)
I'm on it! :)
Why doesn't your setting have small catfolk, /tg/?
Because I have good taste, that's why.
Because someone will want to fuck that cat, op.
It does, but they're just one shape fairies might come in and not a major species or anything.
Were there any no-combat campaigns that you enjoyed?
Bumperino in the name of pacifism and commerce
Oh, yeah, once we played as D&D characters who were themselves playing a nested game of D&D.
Their campaign was violent as shit, though.
>no-combat campaigns
It looks like the Blood Ravens need our support, well vox them that aid has arrived. We just need to let them know who we are!
