What's the most "psssh... nothing personnel... kid" character/player you've had to deal with in tabletop roleplaying?
Recently a new player joined our D&D playgroup and the kid rolled, I shit you not, a fucking vampire ninja who licks the blood off his blade after every fight...

If they didn't actively work against it then they condoned it and can be held as responsible as those who carried a sword. Kill the men and children, leave the women as play things for our troops, then dispose of them when finished.

its always bothered me how hit points are this weird arbitrary number where you just keep hitting something to no effect until it just suddenly drops dead.

HPs are the most realistic system.
Some people just don't die, even after sustaining seemingly fatal injuries.
Some people die after taking seemingly nonfatal injuries.
That's HP. An all encompassing term for "how much hurt do you take before you die". Combination physical endurance and mental fortitude to GRIT your way through injury.

How would you handle a 40K movie? Personally I'd have Gaunt's Ghosts, have a story along the lines of Heart of Darkness.

If it doesn't have space marines then you've just lost 75% of your audience. Guardsmen on their own don't differentiate it enough from every other Band of Brothers-style movie.
I'd love to see this turned into a movie, the only problem is the story would be lost if everything had to be explained in the movie.
