>>47450809
Not like that.
Honestly just do what you think would be good for the story and seems natural, things you'd think would seem really predictable will still surprise your players, you don't need to put too much effort into creating a twist, the differences between how you and them think is basically all you need

Completely contrary to the nature of a vampire, which is a parasite that requires draining the life out of many humans to just survive.

>>Information
This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twelve year old boy named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.
>Rules
At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.
In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins
Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.
Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process
I hope everyone has fun.

>C. Try to hit it in the face with a Kamehameha
You tell Oolong and Bulma to run while you keep Goku distracted.
"Kid, that's crazy!" Oolong tells you. "He'll eat you alive!"
"No way!" Bulma tells you. "There's no way you can take him!"
You let go of her hand and turn to face Goku. Like your mother, you yell, wave your arms, and run to draw the creature's attention.
With a roar, Goku gives chase.
You run as fast as you can, trying to get the monster as far from the others as possible. But you know it will catch up before long. You can't run forever.
>A. Turn and attack
>B. Fire a Kamehameha at it
>C. Try to hit it in the face with a Kamehameha
>D. Keep running until it catches you

They do have another set coming out soon.
Great ruleset, wish I could convince people to play it.
I love the style but I completely understand why people don't, pains me to say it but the game may have done better with more generic visual style.
Your name is Amy Nakamura, a 17 year old void Oni, and you’re in a bit of a mess. You, your cousin and Trish are about 150 yards away from a faerie who’s doing SOMETHING ominous at a house close to Trish’s. Your Oni blood is boiling at the chance to fight fae again, not that you’d admit that out loud to anyone…
Anyway, you have to do something! Who knows what that pixie jackass is doing over there.
“Hmm, we out number him, but I’m not sure pissing him off is a good idea.” Trish says at your left. Yuki’s ears are working overtime as she stands on your right, twitching all over the place.
>I say we get him, damn the consequences!

When Rene agreed to work with Dyrus, it filled him with mixed feelings. Yes, his mother told him to try to make nice with Rene, but she'd already attacked and captured him, having the gall to call it a courtesy that she didn't kill him and Belle. Not that he's ungrateful for not being murdered, but... Oh, hell, he's overthinking this!
Saye and Cicero quickly eliminate the wolf guards that were first on the scene, and Rene was the first to speak afterwards. "Hurry it along, Cicero. They surely know we're here by now, so there's no gain in a slow escape."
"We have no desire to draw out this alliance either," Belle says on her and her charge's behalf as Cicero leads the lot of them through the halls.
Samson, meanwhile, has nightmares about his own time in prison. His ominous first meeting with Oswald Dory, the demise of his mother, facing death and needing to calm enraged, violent masses from striking down their foes... Anxiety continues to eat away at the bard-turned-mage fighter, doubt about his abilities to succeed. Here he is, compromising his ideals to save the life of the man who instilled them in him. Adelais Dory will either be ignorant to the circumstances of their alliance or be aware enough of it that she treats his crew like scum for the death of Cornelius... Honestly, he's not sure which is worse. His crew is coming close to a skirmish her ship is partaking in, so he supposes they'll meet the younger, less-expendable Dory child soon enough.

You're in a bit of a rough situation right now, you admit that. Some wolves threw you down here with the intent of serving you with some nice wine later this evening, but hey, you're out of there now!
The young man following Rene around, Omar, still mumbles to himself quite a lot. "It is... baffling, that I was not killed by Cashmere. Why am I alive?"
Rene, turning towards her friend, responds, "be grateful you are. I swear, though, if you turn out to have survived by selling us out or something of that sort..."
"Wh-what? I would never, Rene!" Omar exclaims.
"Forgive Lady Rene," Cicero says as he looks around a corner, then hops in front of a hall, tosses a few knives, then leads your lot in the opposite direction. "You surely saw the effects of Director Cashmere's betrayal on all of us."
"Not just her," Rene answers. "Marduk, too, he's... Defected."
"Because of his sisters, yes?" Cicero asks, sighing. "I feared this would happen once Saye told me the news..."
"Things just get worse and worse for you Imperials, eh?" Belle asks, clearly bitterer than you've ever seen her towards your temporary quartet of allies.
>A. Oh, we got Marduk? Sweet.
>B. Now's not the time for taunting
>C. How can they be upset that his sisters are alive?!
>D. ...
>E. Write-in response
Why is there so little fantasy set in times analagous to Antiquity? The traditional narrative of a group of heroes wandering the land and fighting exotic beasts is much more similar to the myths of the early Middle East and Greece, yet the vast majority of fantasy instead patterns itself off of a bizarre gestalt Medieval Europe.
Because the aesthetics and pacing stem more from germantic folklore and king aurthur style tales. Greek and Roman myth is about largely unknowable and unquantifiable forces and beings fucking over humans for their hubris or vanity, which is kind of at odds with games focussed on exploring and defeating the unknown. And as far as abrahamic and even more ancient religions and myths go, it's basically just "here are rules to follow to not get murdered by your neighbors or god"
If you're already set in antiquity, what do the "ancient ruins" and "forgotten temples" look like?
Caves?
>>47430221
Basically. Unless your setting used to have civilizations that failed so hard they were mostly forgotten. Maybe some awful super plague destroyed them
