You are Sarah Karlsen, Valkyrie of Sweden, and daughter of Odin.
Recovery from the prison assault goes well. Anna has returned to the land of the living-awake and alive, if a bit fatigued- and your own strength is recovering nicely. Most of Tobias' men have returned to the ship, which has been forced away until things calm down. Though it's not obvious, the local government has spent the past several days reeling from the hit you've given them.
So, for the time being, you're stuck in this temple until further notice.
The library within it is surprisingly large. Books from across the ages are stocked in its shelves in a dozen different languages. You were never the reader like your sister, so rather than doing the actual reading you've decided to help find new ones for her.
You only wish the help was as considerate as you were.
"A little to the left," You say.
"As the lady commands," Tobias murmurs beneath you, moving you closer to the shelf to your left. "Tell me, again, why you couldn't use the ladder?"
"it's easier this way," You explain, running a hand over the books as you scan the titles. "Aren't you supposed to be a soldier, lieutenant? Quit complaining."
"Your heels are digging into me like daggers, I can complain all I want. Can't you fly?"
"And stir up all the dust in here? I think no-got it!" You call, grabbing the book you've been searching for..
(Cont.)

"Wonderful," Emma answers dryly, face still buried in the last book you gave her. "Put it with the rest, if you please."
You look down expectantly, and with exasperation, Tobias raises his arms and places his hands on your hips, lifting you off his shoulder and setting you back down on the floor.
"Many thanks, good sir," You say, giving a small courtesy.
"What exactly is the Doctor hoping for you to find in these?" Tobias asks, ignoring your antics.
"He didn't seem so sure himself," Your sister admits, looking up as the two of you approach. "Sergeant Doren told him about the library, and since he wasn't allowed off the ship, he radioed and asked me to do some digging in his stead. He gave me a few titles and authors to go with. Mostly books relating to the origins of Valkyries, their part in the Great War, and our wars with the Teutonic Order."

You are Kusajishi Riku, Captain of the Seireitei Court Guard's Ninth Division. After awaking from nearly two weeks of unconsciousness induced by overexertion while sealing an unstable rift between Hueco Mundo and the living world, you've finally tracked down former Captain Hirako Shinji and his vizard comrades in order to check on your nephew.
The vizards were hiding under an abandoned warehouse just outside Karakura town, and after a repulsing a rather rude welcome with a show of force you, Apacci, and Rukia were led to meet with the Captains and Lieutenants who were driven into exile one hundred years ago. These are faces you haven't seen in a very long time, belonging to what should be kindred spirits. You are after all in the same position, that of shinigami who regardless of their own intents have obtained hollow powers: despite not having been especially close before the incident, you share that same experience in common which has shaped you all into who and what you are now.
So why does it feel like the distance between you has only grown?
“Can't you... you know,” you gesture vaguely to Shinji. “Control your hollow powers properly?”
“The hell are you talkin' about?” the blonde former-shinigami replies with a toothy scowl. “You're not makin' any sense.”
“I mean you're dominating your hollows to don those masks, right?” you ask, remembering how you too used to call on Rosa before coming to your present agreement. “You haven't figured out a way to cooperate with them, even with Urahara's advice?”
“No,” Shinji admits with a look of slowly dawning comprehension. “Nothin' like that. Why, what have you done?”
What HAVE you done? It seems that's a question you've never really asked yourself, presuming that since you, Yoruichi, and all of the arrancar you've worked with have come to roughly similar “end points” regarding the form of their sealed hollow powers that was simply the logical result.
>1/2
>>47488661
What is an “inner hollow”? Rosa is the personification of your former selves' rage and memories, and by all accounts has always been with you in some fashion even if you were not aware of her. Yoruichi's hollow seems to be some manner of primal instinct that she herself has struggled to describe, but with whom she was able to reach a tacit agreement. It has to be “tacit” because according to her Raijūsenkō is incapable of speech, and although it can understand when Yoruichi speaks to it she confided in you that it “barely listens”.
Apacci, Halibel, and the rest are another situation still. They seemed perfectly able to channel their “hollow” abilities into swords, and in doing so began to take much more clearly human form. Even before they did so it's your understanding that the hollow evolutionary process moves increasingly towards that sort of form as one progresses to Vasto Lorde. Forget “inner hollows”, sometimes you have to wonder about those processes that affect “regular” hollows.
But this handful of shinigami apparently have never progressed beyond 'basic' hollowfication. What about them is different, or is it merely a question of opportunity? And what does this mean for your nephew Ichigo, and his future?
>Question the Vizards: why haven't they advanced beyond hollowfication?
>Ask what happened to them during the hollowfication incident?
>Explain the situation with Rosa, see how they react?
>Most shinigami understand demonstrations much more readily.
>>47488711
>Question the Vizards: why haven't they advanced beyond hollowfication?

That order.

After that quite dangerous encounter with the shinigami calling himself Aizen, you and Neliel head back to Vanaheim to relay the news to the others.
On the way back you can see Neliel looking at you, clearly concerned.
"What?"
You ask her.
She shakes her head.
"Nothing.
I just thought I was clear before!
You can't just throw yourself out like that as a sacrifice!"
"Really now?
So you are saying there was an alternative?"
"That's not-"
"Whether you like it or not, that man meant a danger to everyone.
So either I submit to him or he kills us all."
That managed to silence her.
Even Neliel is aware of the severity of the situation.
You sigh a little and give her a reassuring look.
"Look, I apologize for that.
I shouldn't have insulted you before.
It's just... I have a lot on my mind right now.
So for what it's worth: I'm sorry."
The rest of your journey goes by in complete silence.
When you get back to Vanaheim you can already feel the presence of your friends gathering at the base of the quartz tree.
As you land you can see them waving at you.
"Hi there guys!
So how fucked are we?"
Pesche asks the two of you about the situation.
"So I take it you felt that..."
Neliel replies.
"Sense it?
I could taste it!
Don'tcha know?"
You ignore the clowns and point at the large tree to signal your desire to gather there.
When everyone, including your friends and Alistair get to the large gathering hall carved into the tree, you take your seats at the large table in the middle.
Normally you use this large piece of furniture to play Liars Dice once a week but the atmosphere is a little lighter now that your lives are in danger and you aren't at each others throats because of the game.
After a lengthy explanation of the news everyone is sitting there in dead silence, just simply staring down at the table.
It's Alistair who breaks the silence with his question.
"So you're telling me you accepted that offer?
Why?"
You raise your head and respond as such:
"You're saying this like I had a choice.
It was either bowing before him or facing death."
"Oh yeah?
And how are you planning on becoming a Vasto Lorde then?
Because last time I checked there were only a handful of them around despite everyones intentions."
He got you there.
Although you probably have plenty of time since it's doubtful that Aizen knows how long becoming a Vasto takes.
"I'll just have to give it my best shot.
If it doesn't work you guys can still make a run for it before shit hits the fan."
You reply.
Silence falls once more and everyone keeps staring at the other participants, hoping someone would say something.
And it appears that Neliel has something on her mind.
"I was actually thinking about joining Aizens cause..."
Everyone looks at her confused as heck.
"Come one Miss Neliel, don't joke like that!"
Pesci is the first to respond to her with an awkward laugh.
But after seeing that Nel isn't laughing he quickly pipes down.
"You remember Dordoni, right?
He looked almost like a regular human.
Think about how better things would be if we all reclaimed a part of our past lives.
If we could call ourselves human once more.
We wouldn't be mere monsters anymore."
You crash your fist into the table when she finishes and the large slab of quartz cracks under your fist.
You look at Neliel with anger in your eyes.
"Monsters?
Look around you Neliel!
We built this place up from nothing because we believed we could live proper lives even if we were such deformed creatures.
All that we wished for was a normal life and despite the difficulties we achieved just that!
We, the monsters!"
But she doesn't seem phased by that.
"I understand you Kaizar.
You are proud of what you made.
This place is a safe haven for those that wish for peace, yes.
But even if you oppose the idea of serving Aizen, you can't deny that it has benefits."
You look at your friends and comrades all of whom look at you expectantly.
"So let me guess...
All of you want to become arrancars, don't you?"
"Don't get me wrong Kaizar, we are behind you one hundred percent!
But it'd be nice to be human again..."
Alex speaks up giving voice to the collective opinion of the group.
And upon closer inspection almost all of them seem to be yearning for just that.
A human body.
Neliel already made up her mind and you probably won't be able to stop her but you might be able to influence the others.
What do you wish to do now?
>Allow everyone to decide for themselves.
>"Some of you can but only if you speak with me first."
>"Not on my watch!"
>Other? (write-in)

Mk3 confirmed dead on arrival.
Email to retailers.
Dear store owners, managers and staff,
As you have very likely learned, the June releases featuring the new editions of Warmachine and Hordes are now sold out at the manufacturer level. We received an overwhelming request for Launch Kits (PIP 21111, 21112, 21113) from our distributors, which we sold out of very quickly. In an attempt to meet the great demand for the new editions, we created two new Launch Kits (PIP 21114 and 21115) that were similar to the previous Launch Kits but contained less free items as those items were manufactured in limited supply. Even though we created almost twice as many new kits as our initial Launch Kit offerings, we again sold out of the new kits and had to allocate order quantities for each of our distributors in all territories. Despite our expectation that this production order would last us through the end of the year, adding the additional Launch Kits required most of our remaining product stock and as a result we are also sold out of each individual new edition item and all of our distributors received less product than they initially ordered. The only stock we have reserved is what we require for our upcoming Lock & Load Gamefest (where supplies will be limited) and our recruitment efforts over this summer’s conventions.

Or you could help the shitters in your group realize that their irrational behavior isn't helping them win and get them to correct that so you can eventually enjoy games without all that metagame bullshit. That tends to work with all but the biggest retards. But I see you'd rather feed that cycle of bullshit because you have no interest in good decision-making at your table. So enjoy letting the dice decide your actions and justifying poor play patterns with "I play against retards who are incapable of rational thought"
You keep putting yourself above those idiots who are easily swayed by these actions but you are exactly as bad as them, you're not outplaying them in any way, shape or form, you're lowering the overall level of the games and pretending you're a clever rusemaster while doing so.
What's the best /tg/related bromance you can think of?
>>47481779
>Ornstein and Smough
>Bros
Ugh, clearly you didn't play the game did you?
>>47481779
Ornstein hated Smough.
>>47481835
And vice versa if you look closely. Smashing a dude with your massive hammer the minute he gets beat down is not very bro-like behavior.
For whatever reason I have a huge urge to get into a tabletop miniature game. I either want to get into Warmachine/Hordes or 40k as I'm pretty sure there's a local independent game shop that has Warmachine players and there's also an official GW store close to me as well.
Which one is more fun to actually play and which is easier to get started with?
>>47457573
Depends, is your LGFS or GW smelly? Whichever one is the more hygienic should determine which game you play
>>47457659
I've never been to either of them.
>>47457681
You should go and check them out, then. Unless you're playing exclusively with the lads, you will spent time with strangers. Try and find out which of your stores has the least rancid player base. You won't have fun if you're pinching your nose.

Im thinking of starting an only war campaign with a group of mixed 40k fans and beginners.
My idea currently for a mission or campaign is to have them fall or somehow get lost in the depths of a hive city and have them find their way out as a squad and interacting with the locals of the underhive environment. I envision it as a 40k style dungeon crawler i guess.
tell me /tg/ is this a good idea? or should i stick to a more traditional campaign.
Help me develop this idea so its workable.

I would run 4x goblin matron and only a single bushwhacker. Probably you want to run preordain and maybe ponder as well to look for the combo pieces.
I would probably look at the old goblin matron lists and see what you can do from that. Otherwise, that looks like a sort of fun combo.
>What is this about?
This is a kind of strategy game where you control a space ship, battle space enemies and hopefully don't get turned into space debris. In space.
>How can I join?
It's simple:
- Choose a name for yourself and your ship
- Put it into your trip
- Read the rules
- Design your ship (or take a sample one provided a few posts below)
- Copy the stats of your ship into the bottom of your posts.

It has been thousands of years since humans discovered FTL. In that time humanity settled a corner of the Galaxy, discovered no non-human sapient species and managed to become an ancient precursor civilization to itself at least a few times. Right now humanity is pretty divided, with states ranging from 4-5 systems to a single orbital habitat, and low-level space warfare is ubiquitous. This is where you come in.

[C&C]: I'll let the client explain this one.
[Lorenz Castro]: I am the manager of Anna Sugimiya, a singer very popular in these parts. If you haven't heard of her, it's okay; that's why you were hired, actually.
Anyway, some time ago Ms. Sugimiya had announced her upcoming marriage, which didn't sit well with some of her fans. Apparently they're aggravated by the fact she's "not pure" anymore. We have received death threats, and recently a word reached me about multiple purchases of armed ships financed by sales of cartoon porn featuring the likeness of Ms. Sugimiya.
I've planted some rumors that should lure the potential attackers out. Your job is to dispose of them.
[C&C]: Well, you've heard the man. One thing to add is that apparently this singer has a lot of fans among military personnel, so you might not be facing amateurs. Good luck.
