I'm going to be running a Silent Hill game with my group.
I have a good understanding of the setting and lore, and my players have no experience at all, so I have a lot of freedom and their lack of knowledge minimizes any chance of accidental meta.
I'm going to be using the Call of Cthulhu system, unless you guys can show me something that would be better.
Anybody have any experience with tabletop silent hill or something similar?
here's the map I'm using.
I ran a Silent Hill-esque campaign in Dark Heresy once. The main things I learned are to keep combat to a minimum and use the "air-sirens-turning-everything-to-hell" thing sparingly. Rely on atmosphere to maintain suspense as much as possible, and make sure to know the characters your players are playing so you can tailor the monsters to them.
Gotta wonder what kind of civic planning committee agreed to put a strip bar next to a hospital.

The game is focused on creature combat, and the tendency is to nerf big spell affects, removal and burn. Maro is just the guy in charge of trying to convince us that this is a good thing

Yeah, all you'd need to break gravestorm in half is to have some way to get lots of permanents into graveyards - hello, sacrifice effects and tokens - and a halfway decent gravestorm card.
Or hell, what about a boardclear? If there's a sufficiently cheap gravestorm card out there that's strong enough - a gravestorm grapeshot, so to speak - that could turn out to be a massive force multiplier.
The only saving grace is that gravestorm probably wouldn't end up with the problem Storm...

Shinobi Quest #23
This quest takes place within the lands of the Five Great Shinobi Nations (aka Narutoverse) starting roughly around the beginning of the original series. The world of this quest remains similar to the original, with slight but notable differences in certain areas, based upon the passage of time from a single slightly altered event.
(It’s a goddamn Naruto Quest, you bastards. Have fun, participate, and write in when you feel inclined. Most of the outcomes of this quest will be determined by you, the players. Critiques and questions are always welcome, as my knowledge of the weeby shit is not all encompassing.)

Last thread, Tsuki Norihime greeted her returning sensei after his extended absence, and was informed of her new mission the following day to travel to the Land of Wind. After spending quality time with her Father, a useful tool- the [All-Terrain Shinobi Facemask]- was created. The next day, the reassembled team traveled south to the Land of Wind to begin their mission, meeting up with the client, Dr. Lemeza Kosugi. The five them then began the trek across the vast desert towards the ruins, eventually running until a group of Suna shinobi led by the daughter of the Kazekage, Temari. Eventually, they reached the camp outside the ruins….

Lemeza leads you into a large tent in the center of the Fire encampment- on the way you can see many other, smaller tents, each with other archaeological teams. This dig site was certainly bigger than you believed…
“Alright, ladies and gentleman, we have arrived. Welcome to my humble lodgings.” Lemeza says, gesturing to his tent. It’s certainly nicer than you imagined- or least better than the tents you used on your last trip. You can see he has cots prepared for the four of you; nothing fancy, but serviceable.
“We’re to be sleeping with you, Dr. Kosugi?”...

One unclear line in the 8th edition rulebook that doesn't definitively state anything that relies on knowledge of the 40k universe is hard to use to contradict years of established fluff.

Hey.
I'm going to run a Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0 campaign (my fifth one with this game, but the first with so few house-rules) soon with at least two players, maybe three or four if the other players wake up. The campaign is called Night City Stories, and I'm planning on taking most inspiration from the various GTA games, Michael Mann and Guy Ritchie movies, plus the Cyber and the Punk, of course.
