Here I've made a pyramid of 36 classes all steaming from Thief on the bottom left, Mage on the bottom right, and Fighter at the top in the center.
This scale and calculation I've done is for each of the classes and their chances of succeeding at something that the fighter is best at, fighting martially. On the left I have the amount of d6 rolled for the check and the number next to it the target number they must get under to succeed.
So as you can see, the vanilla thief and mage to fight martially and do as well as the fighter roll 8d6 and have to get below a 16. This gives them a 0.75% chance of doing as good as the fighter.
If I set the rule as, the lower the number the better, however, it's literally impossible for the mage or thief to do as good as the fighter at fighting martially. This is because with 8d6 as the mage or thief the lowest you can roll is an 8 and wI think the fighter rolling 1d6 the lowest he can roll is a 6. Therefore the fighter is ALWAYS better at martial combat.
Would you play a system like this? What do you like and not like about it?

The theme and function of each will come out of what they are mechanically good at. This pyramid decides those mechanics.
Thus, the theme of the fighter is fighting and martial combat. As we move down the pyramid from fighter more and more to the bottom right we will have a mix of mage and fighter which is a spellsword. The themes of each class will be different for each non-shaded triangle.

I found a rather entertaining glitch with the SoS Matriarch. I believe it's linked to one of the possible costume options, but the main body model is rendered at 90 degrees to the way it ought to be, with no movement.

I love making characters so I've done it for a few people, they have to read their own abilities though, ain't my job to teach them when to use them.
Do you have any tips for describing to your players a fantasy setting that was built on the ruins of a modern world without just saying it? Think Adventure Time, Nausicaa, Shannara, Wizards, etc.
Ideally I'd like this to be a slow revelation over the course of the campaign culminating with a big blatant reveal in the last session or two.

I'm thinking society has been gone 300-400 years. So, I guess just shells of big buildings, subway tunnels, beached aircraft carriers, and other big stuff is left.

There are also a couple documentaries about what would happen if humans disappeared. Given the timescale, nothing currently modern would last given a huge apocalypse of some sort.
I suggest that their be a few clues that can be explained as magical anachronisms and making the end of the campaign take place in a ruined (or relatively maintained) modern enclave.
I would say a more advanced civilization would last better than a modern one, and you can get away with passing sci-fi tech as magic items more easily than a piece of modern technology.
Periodically trends in the course of human events shift the balance in a region and super-charge the old gods, nature spirits, and forces of weirdness bubbling beneath the surface of reality. This happened with the art scene in Europe after the Great War and in Japan in the 90's when cell-phones became ubiquitous before their mass adoption in the US or Europe. Neither of those magical waves ended well. And now it is happening again, in North America, with craft beer. And it is up to you to shape what kind of impact this magical wave will have, and stop whatever shadowy forces crashed the previous craft beer bubble in the 90's (that budding magical wave having been responsible for the increased UFO sightings and MIB sightings).
So go out, find the special brews that try to hide from the chalkboards and BeerAdvocate but yet cannot be hidden from or refused to someone who calls them by name. Obtain temporary supernatural powers from these strange brews and use them to keep the balance of nature in check, dealing with the weird creatures and happenings that will otherwise plague the industrial spaces and old haunted buildings of the craft brewing world until the magical wave is tipped into one of negative energy.
Remember, if you know the right thing to say, you would be surprised at the number of food trucks that can rent you a family's heirloom sword (smuggled out of China during the Cultural Revolution) or get you spelunking equipment on short notice.
tldr: the hipster craft beer scene is actual the site of the current magical underground in America

I'm loving the mental image of people becoming increasingly drunken in order to stack on the effects of these magical brews. One must balance the mystical boons with the most blatant debuff of all. The greatest beer wizards are all fat guys and raging alcoholics. Rumors emerge from New Orleans of a man who had Hoodoo worked on his liver to enhance the uncanny effects of these wicked brews. A beer hipster in Queens discovers life is worth more than plaid shirts and terrible tastes in music when a mixup at a tasting ends in him sampling something meant for the backroom of the bar. A party of D&D players attempt to track down a local nanobrewery after a certain saison purchased from a friend of a friend gives them vivid hallucination of the action as they play one night.

actually this seems like the thread to ask this, so i'm trying to make a super edge lord for a friend's campaign, this is supposed to be a goofy E6 campaign where all the pc's rolled on a few charts for personality and some traits. usually flying is irrelevant ni the deck since you just use her gods arts from other rulers, usually just using melgis to kill anything that blocks her so having flying is irrelevant .

Most of my NPCs are female, because my PCs are less likely to try and murder them of they're girls. So they would probably end up dying a lot more.
My PCs are always old dudes who fight for justice, so maybe it would be better depending on the current story.
