Looks like GW finally have a legitimate excuse to sue someone. Pic is from the new Iron Man comic.

GW only sues honest, hardworking little guys who are struggling to get by. They're no match for Marvel's legal department.

This.

GW are bullies and Disney would literally bury them in lawyers.

GW only sues people who they know can't afford to engage in a lengthy legal battle, because most of their policies are bullshit/illegal anyway so any competent lawyer will just tell them to fuck off.

Why the fuck do my players give me grief about having a DMPC if they NEVER WANT TO FUCKING DM.

Its asinine. I think I am just going to make a mary sue and shove it down their throats because i am a petty and vindictive man.

Funny that we are almost in the exact opposite situation, OP. My players always want me to have a DMPC, because they don't want to DM either and they think that I'll have fun too that way.

DMPCs are frowned upon because there are many horror stories about them done incorrectly, but honestly, it's not hard. You just have to prevent your char from having meta knowledge, and don't fudge anything in your favor.
In practice, just never know the answer for any riddle, or who was the killer, or what to do next, or where the traps are (actually, walk into traps once per dungeon at least, and make it traps that concern everyone - eventually you'll be forbidden from walking ahead of others), and roll openly for everyone to see.

Rene and her crew are able to easily dispatch the birdman bandits that came to their campsite, and they rest easily afterwards, confident that more Vautou aren't going to be particularly close.

"I... I..." Hauteclere, back at the transport group, quietly buries her head in her hands in the aftermath of Rene and co's escape.

The monsters fading as Kristina goes out of range, the rest of her group approaches, looking over the deceased. Samson, having been close by at the moment of betrayal, gives the queen a concerned, sympathetic look, before approaching the recently-fallen Jack, Riley, and Jovan. Dyrus takes his place at the queen's side, the prince trying his best to find words of encouragement, but none coming to him.

Samson shakes his head, remembering Veiz. After all the progress she had made, how hard it must've been for her to admit to herself that the world she grew up in needed to fall... He barely knew her, and yet he feels the utmost hurt that she threw the future away like that. This whole damn pointless thing just got a little longer, and she's done nothing but enable Rene's poisonous task when it was looking like there might be a future.

You take over as Samson, several days earlier, when he and General Taniel were just coming close to reuniting with Hauteclere and Jovan's groups.

"I hear they've captured Rene and her group," Taniel says, thankfully, "that's one more loose end that won't need tying up."

Only real choice is actually the Guardsman, let's be real here. His hot sister and I can bond over his unfortunate and early death. There's no sex better than funeral sex.

Do Abominations/Kaiju need any established motives?
On the one hand, having 'It wants to consume/kill/dominate everything because it does' seems like a fairly shit hook for a BBEG.
On the other, the whole point of eldritch is that it is beyond morality and intentionally alien.

Are abominations doomed to be shitty plot hooks, or do they actually make compelling enemies beyond the initial mindfucking? Can they make a long-term enemy for a campaign or are they better included in a one-off final showdown?

Will post pics of spooky monsters.

What special mechanics might you need?

>I'd want a mechanic specific to the color identity of characters. particularly for spellcasters, but i'd like to to serve similarly to d&d alignment in its pervasiveness, without being quite as overbearing to actually care about.

spellcasting requires mana, but honestly i'd make this as handwaving as necessary. at worst, give characters a resource pool that increases once a turn and just say no one ever misses a land drop.

planeswalkers planeswalk by concentrating and just kinda doing it. debatably it requires mana, but mostly just a token amount of effort. you can't really do it while someone's actively punching your face in, but itherwise it just works. that said, I think a game where no players are walkers would be way more interesting than actually incorporating them

old walkers could, among other things, take other living beings across the planes with them, shapeshift at will and were practically omnipotent. urza was an artificer, full stop as a mortal. as a walker he did all the magical bullshit. all the newalkers have exactly the same scale of magic before and after the spark, that's half of why gideon is a punch-man walker.

there's a lot that wouldn't be obvious to the uninitiated, but just don't use a prexisting plane and i'd say less than 10% of it would actually be important. "depends on the setting" takes in a weird meaning since there are a lot of things in magic that aren't even consistent from one plane to another. there is a canon plane where everything is just scaled down by like a factor of 10.
>>
>>48245594
>Requires mana.
>Tapping lands.
Hmm. Presumably they have to actually collect the mana from the land they're in.

Can they all channel any mana? What happens if you normally use white mana and you're somewhere there is none (like a shard of other colors)?

Does channeling mana mess with your personality?

Can new planeswalkers be stabbed to death like a normal creature?

How long does it take to planeswalk, and how do they know where they're going?

What goes in the Final Dungeon, /tg/?

I've got a party of first-time players reaching the end of their first campaign, and I want to make it memorable. They've got to bust into an ancient, ruined advanced magical research facility. Get to the central ritual chamber, usurp the power of the gods, use said power to defeat the Eye Beneath the World, etc. I need ideas for traps, mad experiments, crazy rooms, etc. Help a GM out?

It's 5e D&D, party is 12th level with good teamwork. I've been having trouble seriously challenging them, and I want to put them through the wringer here at the end.

Tesseract rooms
Literal holes in reality (like a portal to Plane of Fire used for heating, melting iron, summoning creatures...)
Reliquary full of relatively hi-tech shit, left over from Predecessor race that walked this world before Eye Beneth ever blinked for its first time
Hall of Magic-Cryo-Frozen heroes that got there before
Maze with invisible but almost indestructible walls
Magic mirrors that lure heroes in: they show tham better life, what they dream about, how they would be if something didn't happen. Willpower saves heroes to not walk in and get trapped
Magic mirrors that spit out angry, twisted, evil copies of heroes. Same level, same character, almost same skills, but philosophies and principles of copied hero are twisted to be the edgiest shit
A wide hall that makes any sound made in it much louder. Like, "my ears are bleeding and skull is squeezed by this sound" louder.
Stele crystals: twist some game mechanic for several turns. Now you get refreshing of abilities and spells not for resting, but for the most cruel murder. Now you can get bonus to your roll if action involves some part of baneposting meme. Now you are the monsters.

Damn, "Chronicles of Siala" and "Dungeon of the Endless" are dope

That's goofball. You'll want to make him slightly edgy but not pointlessly so.

Instead of indiscriminately killing people, make him follow a personal code of not killing helpless people, but turning those capable of fighting into mush.

Let's say theoretically, that you entered a competition with a buddy about who can shag the prettiest broad and who can fuck her best.

Then after a week, you banged a gal over at the post office and he banged his brother in a wig, a pound of makeup and a dress.

Your buddy insists he won, as he made his brother howl in delight.

The idea is that competition in MTG involves two aspects, collecting AND play. Lots of competitive people don't see it that way, but that's a big part of MTG's appeal. If you proxy, in many people's minds, you are sidestepping a valuable part of the game for an advantage.
>>
>>48243341

>that whole analogy
Just stop you're terrible at this

The rest of your post is better, now you're just defending people who get mad about proxies?

That's fine, I understand what you're saying, if somebody personally thinks that "collecting cards is part of the competition in magic" (literally pay to win, you mean to say), then nobody can force that person to play with them, everybody is entitled to pick their playgroups and who they will associate with

I was wondering: are there any RPG systems focused on social interaction? I wanted to organize kind of a dating game, and I was curious if there was anything available dealing with those themes.

I don't know of any systems focused on socializing from a mechanical standpoint, but WoD and GURPS are both systems that reward RP, and discourage combat in my experience. I'm tempted to say to just avoid d20 systems now, but I doubt that's correct.

Honestly the social aspect of a session is always reliant on your players, and your own, ability to RP rather than any mechanics for such. Otherwise it becomes "I roll to 'x'"
