Who the fuck thought this game was a good idea? I've only recently gotten to read it (in part due to Werewolf 20th) and I have to ask what the actual fuck was going on in people's mind when they made it? Oh sure on the surface it sound cool but my god! The setting. It read like how a pretentious, edgy kid from the '90 think the world is and how he's plotting his revenge against his rich religious fundamentalist Republican-voting parents or something. This game is ridiculously spiteful, childish and hating on society.
And just when I thought it couldn't get worse I decided to check the other supplements and the Fomori breed are so ridiculous I'm not sure if I'm angry at the stupidity or laughing until I pass out.
Can't help but feel there was a vaguely useable concept of a game in there but its buried under a level of childishness and edginess that make Mage and Vampire look positively good and mature by comparison.

Yeah we were pretty disappointed when our group finally got a copy of the book, back in the day. We dumped the fluff pretty quick and just made our own version.
Fomori are funny though, Freak Legion is one of the most gleefully tasteless reads you could ask for.

Had a great 1000 pt game, Guard vs Eldar, me playing as Eldar. He brought very little antitank, so I charged my Wraithlord up the field, buffed with Fortune. It tanked basically the entire guard gunline for 3 turns, only dying because I failed to cast Fortune, despite using 6 dice. Game ended in a draw after the Wraithlord hacked apart both guardsmen squads he sent to capture the objective (a relic, so he could move it).
Does anybody else feel like 40k is kinda bloated? I think it could do a with a good trimming of the fat. Not to AoS levels, but just so it's not so stuffed.

I have an upcoming event in my campaign - young ambitious mantis pretty boy whose a smooth talker and an honorable man, is going to be competing with Yoritomo for who gets to marry Moshi Wakiza.
I kind of want this to be less a fighting contest, and more a social one.
Plus, I'd like some ideas on how said character might be able to go about getting Amaterasu to back him against Yoritomo as well.
naturally, once Yoritomo figures out hes lost, it might end up in a fight, but that will result in a dead PC - I figure Yoritomo will vow revenge. Also, your probably saying "isn't Yoritomo this PC's daimyo?" And while you would be right, I run the mantis as being somewhat more fractious and independent than most clans - Yoritomo is hoping to iron hand unify all the competing families within it, and then use that as a means to compell the other minor clans to join him, in his whole "make the mantis great again" campaign
