We used to have pretty regular Mobile Frame Zero threads.
Mobile Frame Zero is a fun mecha skirmish game, Brikwars is amazing even if it requires a bit of work and a lot of improvising. It's not the most balanced thing, but if everyone is playing along it can be crazy fun.

Rumors point to fall off next year. While it may not be to the level of aos, the rumors say gw recognizes how bloated and needlessly complex the rules have gotten, and are looking to streamline and slim it down, make it more friendly for new players and the like.

Post any art requests you have ITT. Keep in mind, the drawfriends are doing this for fun, so do not be surprised or upset if they gloss over your post. The artists are here to draw what they WANT to draw, not what you THINK should be drawn.
Be patient, and bump your request one time every 24 hours from the time you posted the request. There is no exception to this rule, it doesn't matter if you "have work" or "are going to bed".

Rerequesting my deathwatch character. He has armor like the guy on the left, and looks like Naked Snake, with the colors of the top. My only specific request outside of those is that he be drawn smoking.
If you decide to give him a bolter, the chapter he belongs use bolt-silencers on all of their arms, and also have a heavy reliance on knife use in cqc, if that helps. Thanks~!
Migrating.
I'm playing the brother in a pair of werewolf twinsIn this setting, werewolves are permanently in the half-wolf-half-man state, which is mildly suspicious but whatever.
Both armoured fighters, the brother is the lighter armoured of the two, using a pair of katars and a mobile, slightly acrobatic fighting style, though carrying a short backup sword for when katars would be impractical. Enough armour to catch the odd blade or two, but not enough to impede movement. Roughly the level of pic related, though perhaps a tad sparser.
The sister...

I think Time Walk is better than Black Lotus since Black Lotus doesn't really help later into the game, but Time Walk is useful at pretty much any point.
Or Ancestral Recall. Pretty useful any time in the game.

>Campaign with Sailor Moon/Kill La Kill transformations.
>One of the mechanics is transformation speed. Meaning you can punch people before their transformation even finishes.
How can you work this in as a interesting but balanced mechanic?
>>48298019
Use a system with highly granular rounds like GURPS (1 sec.), or use initiative modifiers like AD&D.
Some transformations are instant [take no game time or actions]
Others take up your turn, but are not interupptible.
And others take a full round [or longer] to complete, and taking damage during it requires that you make a "Transformation Check" or something, or lose the transformation.
If you're going to have transformations, don't make mid transformation attacks a standard mechanic.
Yes, they happen, but they're a rare exception generally used to mess with genre conventions, not a general rule.
It's even mechanically a bad idea. If you can be attacked mid transformation, everyone is just going to go around transformed as often as they can justify, which takes a lot of the fun out of it and does even more damage to the genre-tone you're going for.

Thank you! And to commemorate this new thread, I have a google document, of all things, courtesy of Serena and myself and full of heartfelt angel talk and subsequent lesbian angel interaction. It is lewd, I'm sorry to say.
I also have for you a picture that Serena commissioned (I don't know who the artist is so ask her), featuring two glorious, beautiful, shining beacons of light and also two angels. I should note that the two angels in the picture to the left aren't the two angels in the story, so it's not really related. I mean, one of them is one...

Question: What was the best use of slimes or oozes you've seen in a game?
>>48252896
Gelatinous cubes can actually be scary as fuck because they block the entire corridor. I've had some tense moments trying to work out which routes are safe and which have a corridor with a cube in it.
They aren't the 'comedy jello cube' people use them as these days in a lot of oldschool game. Rather, it's a transluscent wall of digestive ooze that fills the corridor and bears down on you relentlessly. Nasty.
I hid one in a frozen ice wall once. Players tried to thaw the wall to get through, only to revive the ooze -- which immediately tried to kill them.
Also - Greyhawk and Ravenloft are done, vetted, and up.
Forgotten Realms is huge, but I'll deal with it another night.
> character durability determined by rolling dice
> using literal tables to see if you hit
> zero character building options
> XP only for killing shit & looting treasure
> retarded nonsensical dungeons with unsustainable ecologies
> crappy line drawing art
> obtusely phrased rules
> ten different kinds of saving throws
And people still play this? It's like cutting down trees by hand when a Goddamn chainsaw is available. Why do you guys put yourselves through this?
So how would you describe the aesthetics of a setting like Final Fantasy 12. To me, it has the right blend of modern type amenities along with the old world fantasy feel that would, I think, be comfortable enough for the average person's imagination (i.e. the sort of people who play D&D and expect the ye 'old type of setting).
I know Eberron is a thing but I would love to see more settings with similar sorts of of imagery.
>>48308407
I've seen it described as "Science Fantasy", which I like.
Pulp fantasy maybe? Modern fantasy sort of.
>>48308407

What, in your opinion, is the best way to be immortal?
Saintdom/Godhood? Daemonhood? Undeath? One-with-Nature? "I fucked time up so hard I end up the same as yesterday?" Becoming an AI? Just persisting as a name in legends?
Being immune to damage, age, and the needs of the flesh.
>>48308005
Most of listed do offer freedom from flesh and age, but damage... How?
>>48308020
Basically invulnerable on multiple levels, super strength need not apply.
Artistic liberties in your settings or lore?
>changes you make to traditional fantasy that completely warp the genre, and could maybe even be argued as profane
I'm curios as to what /tg/ has to share on the subject. Tell me about the quirks or homebrews that exist in your setting that go against the traditional.
An example of mine is that there is only one language. Everyone speaks the same language and unless you're just uneducated or sheltered you could understand anyone and everyone.
>>48307965
Define traditional fantasy.
>>48307977
Let's go with games like Pathfinder or D&D.
Probably should have elaborated, anon, my bad.
>>48307965
Player characters in my games are almost always regular people easily overwhelmed by large numbers of NPCs. They're also punished for acting like retards.
By the grace of gods and fate, your current character has become huge. (Between 8 and 10 feet tall, with an exceptionally sturdy, muscular physique.)
How does this impact your campaign?

Assuming he keeps his dex and cha scores, my elven swashbuckler would proclaim himself a god or something.
The gnome wizard's kobold wife will be thankful she doesn't have a gag-reflex.
So I'm wanting to run a Power Ranger/Super Sentai game with a few of my friends, does any one here have a system that could work for this, or even a variant rule set for an existing system? I've looked online for some, but the only decent one I found was an incomplete one called "Tokyo Heros", are there any others out there?
>>48307043
Deathwatch. Seriously. Characters are individually powerful and get cool teamwork-based abilities. Change the paint job and you've got a perfect Sentai game.
>>48307073
Doesn't any Warhammer game need like a hundred or so soldiers to get bounces?
>>48307125
Nah, Deathwatch is about a small strike force of space marines.
