Alright, /tg/, I've got a bit of a situation.
One of my players, in a recent session, stole gold from another member of the party while they were away from camp during downtime. This immediately sparked out-of-character conflict between the players involved, and I now have tension within the party.
My fellow DMs, how do you handle theft between party members, and other such actions?
Story might run a bit so I'll save it for a new post.

Which direction is the lore being taken in next? Is the Dragonborn going to be relevant post-Skyrim? How will the Thalmor fall for good?
Hammerfell. I doubt the Dragonborn will be relevant. The Thalmor will probably be defeated in two or three more games.
I really want to see Elsewyr or Blackmarsh, even though I know neither will never happen. They've already done Hammerfell once, they shouldfuck upsomewhere else instead.
DB will probably just be, or at least should be, in yarns, and probably viewed as a usual Nord Tall Tale left for local inns.
Obviously northerners would heed more to the idea of the DB's significance, but considering the likelihood of the Thalmor incursion, its relevance and importance would probably be downplayed to make way for their propaganda and campaigning.
The Thalmor will probably take some swaths of land, but eventually take too much, then comes the PC to save the day. Assuming, which is a likely possibility, unfortunately, that there would indeed,...

How would you handle a society that has no concept of currency? How do you maintain an economy entirely based around trade and barter?
How does this affect jobs and the basis of rewards to players? How does a person gather riches if the riches do not exist in the first place?

Biggest ones I've seen are Malifaux's card system and Wrath of Kings one-roll system.
Malifaux's is interesting, since it not only really fits the theme of the game, wild west Victorian era, but it changes the math used to predict "rolls". Instead of a flat probability, the use of a set limit of randomly determined outcomes, supplemented by the Cheat Fate mechanic, makes for an interesting model.
Wrath of Kings, while a little clunky, is interesting. You roll the number of D10's...

Xwing has some interesting things.
Maneuver templates being one. Having players put down their moves all at once without seeing what the other guys does first (barring abilities and such) is pretty neat and leads to some shenanigans.
Also runs a similar dice mechanic to infinity where certain rolls can counter the other persons roll like Face to Face, which makes it feel like you're not just taking it up the ass when you got shot at.
I like warmachine Jack mechanics too. Where damage thresholds...

The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game, and its most recent incarnation of The Hobbit (which I assume uses the same rules), has the Might and Fate points mechanics, which are something I've always found amazing in and of itself.
Basically character models have stat lines that are similar to that of their regular unit compatriots (i.e. a Captain of Gondor has stats very close to a regular soldier of gondor), but characters get Might and Fate points that allow them to change dice rolls, or re-roll...

In Pathfinder, there's this racial feat for Goblins...

I'n my copious spare cycles stuck on duty or in the barracks with no one to game with (Being a nerd in the military is suffering), I've been making my own RPG. I know, I know, no one gives a shit. I'm not here to talk about the mechanics or any of that shit. Got it figured out mostly anyway.
No, I'm here because I've been trying to find a way to make magic using characters powerful without magic feeling too mechanical or clunky. Then there was the challenge of trying to find some kind of balance between casters and martials. Finally, I decided to do away with classes entirely, and make magic something that must be attained instead of inherited.
Shying away from my tabletop experience, I wanted my spellslingers to really feel arcane; to capture that old sword and sorcery feel before magic became a game of spamming magic missile until you had to go lie down. So, I decided that any character should be able to find magic and take it for themselves if they had the luck, skill or raw willpower to accomplish it.
To that end, I've come up with three different types of magic users. Not so much classes, as paths a character could take.

First, the Wizard. Unlike D&D, wizards do not get their powers from books, but from Places of Power. In order to become a Wizard, a character must learn the secret of true wizardry, whether from some obscure journal, the teaching of another wizard or some kind of spiritual journey. This revelation gives a character the ability to find and claim a Place of Power (PoP if you're hip). PoP's are locations halfway between this world and the next, places which have soaked up some kind of metaphysical significance, and resonate with an immortal concept. A Genius Loci, if you will. Each place of power can be connected to a number of natural domains, and the Wizard will randomly acquire a few powers from these domains upon claiming a PoP. Basically, it's a roleplaying journey to find one, a d3 roll to determine how many domains a PoP is connected to and a roll against a table to see which powers the wizard can draw from these domains.
I'm trying to stay away from the classical elements on this one, so the domains I've come up with so far are:
Predation
Time
Cold
Battle
Metal
Heat
Sight
Protection
Heat
Night
Fear
Basically, what I'm trying to come up with are additional domains, and spells to populate each domain with.
