He means the D&D Larva. IIRC they're human souls that go to one of the hells and get turned into little gross worm things with people faces. Demons use them as currency and evil wizards can use them as spell components to make their magic more powerful.

Oh, I remember this campaign, and Council of Thieves. Bizarrely, in both campaigns, you have the option of giving one of the villains - a COMPLETE fucking ASSHOLE - a new lease on life for...some reason.
Like, why would anyone ever want to do that? I'll point out that the villain is also completely unrepentant. I mean "Meh, fuck it." is a completely rational choice.
Didn't see a thread where this really belongs but I have a question concerning armor aesthetics. Pic related, I've always loved these waistcloths on knights or suits of armor but I've never been sure what to call them besides waistcloths. Would anyone happen to know what this would be called?

I always imagined the Paladin an armored priest, the russ orthodox priests were oft the most educated people around and same goes for swedish protestant priests.

My paladins tend to be warriors on a mission from god; not priests with a sword.

What're some other simple motivations for a character? I don't really Pathfinder anymore, but I remember really liking how one of the iconic PCs fell into it escaping a wedding, and another guy just wanted to learn magic after getting old.

My 4e Warforged Warden just wanted to explore the world.
His story was that he was de-activated some time ago, and only recently was actiavted again.
in hindshight this really seems like me copying Bastion from Overwatch, but whatever it's a cool background to play a warforged enjoying himself with all the sights and sounds this new world brings to it.

A town with little to no government, most likely governed by a distant power.
The guild serves as the closest thing to a governing body, mediating disputes, protecting productive citizens (and thereby their income stream).
In this case, the guild would be more like the classic old-country mafia or yakuza where they feel a certain sense of honor and pride in protecting their citizens, but they are still in the business of governing so that they gain wealth and maintain their power.

The "Guild of Thieves, Cutpurses, Housebreakers and Allied Trades" as their full name goes, keeps the whole thing nice and organized. See, with how the Guild operates, any given citizen of Ank-Morpork will only be robbed by the membership of the Guild once per year. You get a receipt and everything to prevent it. As their numbers also include housebreakers, one can pay a yearly fee to have a plaque over their door to prevent official burglings.

I'm going to be starting an only war campaign here soon the players have asked to fight tyranids on a forge world. Which is easy enough. What I'd like help with is mission complications. Here are some I have so far:
-squad finds civilian survivors in no-mans-land, upon radioing back they are told there are no civilians according to reports, and to ensure that remains correct.
-arch magos has squad assist in rounding up live tyranids, infected humans and the like for research purposes.
I'd like more little events like that to help spice up...

Forge World? How about stopping some power reactor from going critical an blowing up half a town? Extract a Techpriest who is very important? Have the group hijack a tank for a bit? Or have them tasked with killing a specific tyranid to make a group go feral?
Forge Worlds, like any world in 40k is ultimately up to you, but generally they are controlled by the Techpriest and have massive production complexes. Picture NYC dedicated to producing ONE part of one thing, well Chicago makes another. Generally think along the lines of an industrial complex in China, but huge....
