i got a few gnolls, harpies and some centaurs
WHFB beastmen or just general animal-man things?
Whi did GW gave no shit about the beastmen?
Where do you draw the line between your DM being challenging, and your DM being a bully?
>Your group gets ambushed by hobgoblins despite you getting fairly good rolls while scouting
>The hobgoblins mock you whenever you miss an attack
>The hobgoblins are all magically resistant to your particular weapons and abilities
>The hobgoblins all focus their attacks solely on you
>They capture you after you're knocked out,...

>they eat your favorite food in front of you
That's where I draw the line.
>The hobgoblins are all magically resistant to your particular weapons and abilities
I don't know if it's bullying, but I hate that more than anything.
>>44486176
>despite you getting fairly good rolls
Please stop this. You are not entitled to success just because you think you rolled well. That's not how games work.
Fuck the numbering system, we aren't questfags. Let's talk bad guys- who do your PCs square off against? Ever included a canon figure?

I've been looking for a way to work Sigvald into a game. That sort of self-centered perfectionism and skill is begging for a bunch of PCs to ruin his hair.
>>44486159
So far I have a list, in approximate order of anticipated appearance and severity:
A beastman warlord
A mischievous goblin tribe
Ignorant yokels
Bandits
Corrupt burghers
Chaos cultists
Skaven
Religious zealots
Republican agitators
Vampires
But I don't have a particular "BBEG" in mind for my campaign. The idea is that in Warhammer, there is no "Big Bad" - just a lot of petty, greedy and/or ignorant people all getting in each other's way for various terrible reasons.
>>44486512
But how many of them are actual villains? As in, significant individuals, preferably with some style? There's a ton of those in Warhammer.
Fantasy, sci fi and everything in between, this is a thread for posting art of weaponry. Things like shields and wands also count.
I'm looking for some art for legendary low-fantasy weapons, things with realistic proportions/practical shapes while still being obviously outstanding eg extreme ornamentation, obvious magical effects ect.

Why is your squire so shit, Sir Anon?
He likes anime.
>>44485438
Because he doesn't share any of that monstergirl pussy.
Always drunk
i just started a 4th ed game and the players are in a town called Winterhaven (Keep on the Shadowfell module) but my problem is in game money, how much should things cost?
a stay at the in is 8gp and armor might be 120gp but the price of a potion is 10gp so whats the point in having copper, silver and platinum?
TLDR: HOW MUCH SHOULD I CHARGE FOR ITEMS LIKE FOOD, ARMOR, POTIONS, HORSES AND WHAT WOULD A LITTLE TOWN HAVE TO OFFER?
However much you think it should cost.
>>44484986
>However much you think it should cost.
Pretty much.
>>44484986
i really don't have a idea what the standard cost of things are
What would be some useful feats/traits for a PC to have that wouldn't normally be found in the rulebook?
Happy End - Your family and friends cannot be targeted by the BBEG or other villains.
>>44484815
A really big penis
Being multiorgasmic
Heterochromia
Being tall
Knowing how to give great massages
Having a fantastic set of knockers
Being one of those crazy mutants that can fucking eat like pigs yet never gain any weightBeing an elf who also has delicious brown skin
>Lifetime Dream
You give your char a very specific and difficult task. If he manages to get it before reaching level 20 he automatically ascends to that level, if on the contrary he makes to level 20 without reaching that dream then the character enters into a depression and dies.
why does wizard need food?
>>44484603
Cause magic is a poor nutritional alternative.
Though good luck getting that in a medieval fantasy.
>>44484603
It takes roughly zero effort to make a ring of sustenance.
>>44484999
It takes a feat slot.
>Two regular dudes witness a horrifying ritual involving the summoning of creatures from beyond the stars, accidentally thwart it, dress up as women in order to avoid the angry cult
The last movie set in the 20s or 30s that you saw is now the plot for your next Call of Cthulhu campaign.
>An elderly hobo wanders into Innsmouth looking for place to sleep and a chance to make an honest living.
Well meaning charlatan Otis B. Driftwood meets aspiring singer Ricardo, who is determined to win the love of fellow performer Rosa. Aided by the illiterate but cunning Fiorello and otherwise mute harpist Tomasso, Otis attempts to unite the young couple, but faces opposition from the preening star Lassparri, who also has his sights on Rosa whilst he plans to use an Opera performance of The King in Yellow to summon forth Hastur from his undead and alien city. Traveling from Italy to New York, Otis and friends rally to try and win the day.
Along the way there are dangers...

Really I just want to play every Marx brothers film as a CoC campaign.
Bring the Thule Society into A Night in Casablanca..,even if that was done in the forties.
So my daughter got this set from her uncle for christmas (she's 3, and he is into miniwargaming like me) thought it would be a fun activity for father and daughter.
Sure ok. Give it a shot. She take's Elsa, I take Anna.
We lay out newspapers and start painting, I try to instruct a 3 year old with the best of my abilities.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I HATE ENAMEL PAINTS!
Why did they do enamels, they barely have any coverage at all, and go on thick and clumpy, thinning it down makes it worse, what the hell? Are enamels cheaper than acrylics? Is it...

YA GOTZ TA PAINT EM RED, YA GIT!
>Is it a safety thing?
Acrylics are as safe as it gets. Enamels tend to require comparatively nasty stuff for brush cleaning.
>Are enamels cheaper than acrylics?
Could probably swing either way, but it certainly seems like they got a cheap batch of enamels here.
>>44483912
>she's 3, and he is into miniwargaming like me
Is she really? Are you sure you aren't just projecting yourself into your children?
Just bought a 52-pack of cards, teach me some games /tg/
>>44483804
You're missing two.
>>44483942
>"You're missing two."
I don't know how to play card games, I know cards bud
>>44484105
Nope, you have an incomplete deck. We can't help you.
What are some nice non-traditional settings? I think those are pretty neat.
I'm a big fan of the Endless series' Auriga. It's from a video game, not anything /tg/, though I feel it could be a neat setting for a pen and paper game.
Auriga is a planet left in turmoil from the acts of an ancient race known as the Endless, they used it as a testing grounds and a research facility. In the events of the game Dungeon of the Endless, humans arrive on the planet from a crashed prison ship, these prisoners and crew members go onto to become the inhabitants...

Well it all depends on what you call "traditional".
GURPS Infinite Worlds is pretty awesome IMO because you can segue into it from pretty much any other game, and use it as a framework to have any two games cross over.
Transhuman Space was non-traditional.... right up until games inspired by it came out (adding more edgy and magical gaming elements to make it more mainstream).
The more alien a setting, the more you need fiction to anchor it.
>>44483747
>Vaulters
Tsk! You're a real fuckin' scrub, aren't you?
Could you run a rules-light game right here on /tg/? Get some folks with trips, roll up characters, and go for a little dungeon run?
Why not people to quests all the time. 3d6 abilities down the list, roll for equipment, pick a class, slap a name on that and down the hill we go.
You could but it would be stupid to do it here instead of literally any other platform designed for roleplaying or even just an IRC channel.
Unless you want to point at your trip and say "HEY LOOK AT ME I DID THAT THING YOU GUYS SHOULD TREAT ME LIKE I'M IMPORTANT." In which case, see the first part of my post re: being stupid.
You technically could, but it'd be like an exclusive quest, which would piss off people more than usual. At least with a normal quest, anyone at all can participate.
Ambassador Anon, when we agreed to help uplift your species by giving you our technology regarding genetic engineering, we were under the impression that it would be used to help wipe out disease and extend the lifespan of the average man and woman. However, a cursory glance at your "internet" and "television" reveals that your people are using it primarily to turn themselves into "catgirls." Please explain.
