Have you ever gotten a character or campaign idea from a weird dream?
>have a dream where I'm in a purple acid trip dimension and meet a colossal neon green floating eyeball
>telepathically communicates; tells me he's as old as the cosmos and has seen my destiny
>decide to make this the god of divination magic for my setting
I woke up before he could tell me my destiny tho.
That's literally the plot of Heavy Metal.
I got a Villian idea from a dream. A colossal scrap metal golem with a lot of unusual features. Every time he gets killed he comes back smaller, more refined, smarter, and with less distractions that extend your lifespan.
>>44674527
No, that's part of the description of one of the characters in Heavy Metal. The plot is that the orb is an evil fucker leading people to their doom until it's finally destroyed. You'd think it'd be easy to keep these things apart, but with sufficient stupidity the most astonishing things becomes reality it seems.
So is it just me or this this card all kinds of What?
Is it a targeted ability? Whats up with the wording?
>>44674242
It gets around shroud/hexproof and I think Protection since it doesn't target.

Welcome to Time Spiral block, friendo
How would you play a character that is a figment of another character's imagination without the whole party finding out?
>>44674213
DM-PC?
>>44674213
The imaginary character isn't actually with the party. The delusional character is constantly "talking to" the figment on his phone or radio.
One of the GTA games did this, I think.
Hey /tg/ Anons.
Has anyone tried putting stats on Saitama from OPM yet?
Can his power even be quantified, or should he remain stat-less?
I believe you're looking for this thread you started earlier.
>>44643469
Saitama is one of those things that you just don't stat.
Unplayable games thread.
>>44672709
I have always wanted to play this but nobody else does.
Maybe I should run a Wraith Quest.
>>44672741
It puts too much work on the DM, due to the whole shadow thing for each player, and how abstract the mechanics are in general.
>>44672780
You could drop the Shadow and still have a great game.
Are there other social justice classes? We have the Social Justice Warrior, who ignores all outside input and attacks people blindly, but what role do the other classes hold?
Is the SJCleric the one that adds onto someone else's argument and agrees with the warrior? Is the SJRogue the one that silently reports pages? Is the SJPaladin the one that constantly justifies their shitty behaviour in the name of Social Justice? What's the role of a SJ Ranger? I can't even bear to mind the abilities of a social justice BardDo they all have negative points...

The Social Justice Necromancer constantly resurrects dead arguments and brings back shit that happened a long, long time in the past, using it as evidence society is unjust today.

Feminist slam poetry.
Tell us about the languages in your settings /tg/.
Do you go with the usual Common, Dwarfish Elvish etc.?
Or does each major culture have their own tongue, resulting in multiple human, dwarf, elf, orc etc. languages?
What about dialects and regional variations?
If you're not in Generic Fantasy Land, what other species and languages are there in your setting?
Any interesting idioms and expressions you thought of that you/ your players actually use?
Bumping with a question, before I go to sleep.
Have any of you ever written a conlang?
I haven't, I'm afraid.

In my settings Common is secretly Esperanto.

From what sources do you draw inspiration for the villains/BBEGs in your quests? How much forethought is there put into how they will affect the player character and the world at large?

Because I get paranoid about my quality, speed, and accuracy and want to make the first update post as perfect as possible, so I keep setting the next date a long time away.

Sorry for not being quest-related, but this is just goddamn obligatory.
Dwarves are Gaelic-Norse white people right?

No, Dwarves are fictional creatures faggot.

If turnamancers can create self-moving vehicles and dirtamancers can improve cities and city features, I can make cities that automatically manage themselves for the production/$$$ bonus without having an assigned warlord? Or would the conveyor belts and robots associated just increase the bonus being managed gave? Either way, that'd be a huge benefit to a side to just have ongoing, so I could be doing useful shit with my units instead of having to idle to budget.

Huh, where did you get that chart from? I got from an anon on an erfworld /tg/ previous thread didn't realise it originated elsewhere

Of all the Social Darwinist societies one of the best takes on them is the Neimoidians from Star Wars. Basically Neimodians raise their young in large communal hatcheries giving them limited food while forcing them to fight over it for the first few years of their lives. Those that survive this process were fearful of deprivation and death and so tended towards greed, ruthlessness in dealings along with an aversion to putting themselves into harms way.

Well, if you can pester your GM to let you have a Flarestar, and stat the whole party as Duros doctors and biologists, you can make your Star Wars campaign about ayy lmaos going around probing everything and everyone.
>>44670526
what once-barely-canon-now-nothing-EU source are you getting this from? Last time I checked all the Neimoidians were is greys with comically bad droid armies and vaguely racist accents.
So I appear to have misplaced the head to one of my Guild Lawyers. Wyrd miniatures has no parts ordering system to I figured I'm a bit screwed. Fortunately they're mimics so I figure I can just put something on there. Anybody who knows more about the fluff than I want to give me advice on what plot-friendly things I can put on instead? A tentacle? A screw? Maybe stuffing?

Currently building characters for a few games. Card Math is odd, but the system seems well done. Any suggestions on places to find good art for the game?
Looking for tips on playing Bag of Props Collodi. Do you bring cheap models to siphon conditions off of?
>>44669928
The Malifaux rulebook is probably a good start. Official art and such. The setting also has elements that pretty much rip off Deadlands (and do their own thing with them to be fair) so try looking at that also.

Getting into GMing WHFRP, and was wondering whether there were any published (or homebrewed) adventure/campaigns that take place heavily in Sylvania? The entire lore surrounding the area is really interesting to me.
Bump?

I ran this in high school and college, mostly Marienburg back then and then a few adventures in 2nd edition in 2005. We had a lot of fun with 1st edition but 2nd didn't last long despite the fact that it was a much tighter design. If I was going to run this again I would not use either 1e or 2e, but would use Runequest 6 for the rules, and create sorcery and battle magic schools. RQ just has a much better combat system and XP/advancement is easy. What would be lost is the career advancement system, which is...
