I've been thinking of running an MLP tabletop RPG. Any suggestions for fun systems? I'm sick to death of 3.x, including Pathfinder, and I'm looking for something that's compatible with the feel of the show. So, some magic, nothing grimdark, nothing excessively crunchy.
Any ideas since I don't want to get GR15b& on /tg?

You could spend some time adjust Burning Wheel, though the system is quite a bit different than any d20 game. There is a simplified version call Mouse Guard that I personally love, but it has no magic. It wouldn't be overheard to mod it for ponies, though.

Why not just run freeform rp? Gauge the likelihood of success of every action a character wants in percent then roll it on D100 or D20. Steal stats from your favourite system to guage strength dex, charisma ect if you want, but there is literally no point in buying and learning a new ruleset if your just going to cut it up to make it mlp comparable.

Burning Wheel sounds simple and speedy-playing. Do I have that right? I'm a player in a 3.5 campaign that's slow as molasses right now because the DM can't into combat without needing twelve boring-ass charts for every roll.

You offer each other a wary glance and a comforting smile before taking the soup into your mouths.
Well, the broth is really good at least.
But you're not a fan of that algae.
You sort of just push as much of it as you can off to the side as you munch on the shallots, scallions, and celery, using your spoon as a filter whenever you drink the broth.
Eve seems to be doing the same.
It's really not so bad.
You were expecting to have to block out the world around you and just push through it.
Part of you really wanted an excuse to go to your happy place, but it really isn't needed here.
You don't know what Flashbang would have done, but it would have been nice to have Carver be a respectful maid, or butler Gis laughing at your puns.
Maybe in your dreams.
Besides...
You take another look around the room at your friends, lingering on Jet and Eve.
You're already in a happy place.
Gis and Carver finish cooking the turtle soup proper and the others get their fill.
Gisela is the only on actually eating the meat, but the others seem to enjoy the added turtle flavor.
You and Eve focus on your bowls.
Soon enough, everyone finishes eating and Softshell gets some blankets for the rest of you.
He's got his own room and bed, but the living room is the only one with enough space for the rest of you.
He wishes you a good night and retreats to his room while the rest of you get settled in the sheets.
Eve takes one side of you while Jet takes the other, both snuggling into you closely.

Cloudsdale roves around to kickstart the winter season across Equestria. That's one of the advantages of a floating cloud city full of weather experts, after all! But in doing so, it also means that snowfall can't be constant for a single location from the pegasus metropolis. Do they provide the locals with supplies for keeping it going during the season? Pinkie Pie embraces all kinds of festivities and traditions, ever mindful of the individual rituals that the practitioners work with. It helps her come to a better understanding of party tailoring (and subsequently fleshes out her dossiers), and more importantly, it's tons of fun for her as well! Her tolerance has some limits, though, that she might still be working on. The stuffier atmosphere of the first Grand Galloping Gala didn't really suit her tastes, and she did have a spot of jealousy when she felt her position as Ponyville's premier party planner was threatened, but they're just minor bumps in her life's work.
