What you see here began as a series of comedy-centric stories with the concept of an alicorn-ascended Princess Applejack trying to change a mismanaged Equestria for the better by humorously interacting with the other, quite lazy, princesses.
Not to mention a whole bunch of Changelings with nothing better to do but cause mischief.
The whole thing was set in motion by this gem:

This has been a great ride, everyone.
When the first few stories set the precedent of gentle, loving white-knighting for this general, I didn't think it could last. I thought it would experience an influx of Submission is Mandatory knockoffs and the direction would change.
It didn't, though. It just broadened out. A lot of feels have been had. Even if this dies tomorrow, I'd like to eject some spaghetti from my pockets and say I'd do it all again.
Anyone remember when the first post was? It was just over a month ago, I think.

You head over to where you fell. There were a lot of spider webs there.
You pick some up with your magic and wrap them around your hoof, or rather what's left of it. They're cool to the touch, and give you some relief of the pain. You do the same with your other hoof.
You pack some in your bag in case you'll need some more.
What do you do now?
Before you leave the room, you gather some strands of the silk and make a rope with them. It's strong, and somewhat elastic.
You put it in your bag.
You strike the walls of the tunnel with your shovel. It makes a loud clang. You don't think you can dig your way out of here.
You walk down the tunnel.
There is a fork in the path. You can go left, or you can go right.
Which do you take?
You look down both paths. It's too dark to see anything really, but you can tell both halls are empty. No sound comes from either of them.
You decide to head left first.
Before you head through to the tunnel, you mark the wall with an "X" using your shovel.
The left tunnel is a dead end, with a thin "bridge" made of stone.
You inspect the bridge more closely, but hesitate to walk over it.
The pit that it stretches over is riddled with sharp rocks and spikes.
You hear the bridge crack and rumble as you get near it. It probably wouldn't support your weight for long.
I dont even care at this point, its been too long.
