This makes me sad. When I was a kid, my friends and I all used to be up at the crack of dawn heading out on our bikes and exploring until it got dark. It used to be so much fun, playing war with BB guns and pretending conker husks were grenades. Even that time I was dared to go down "The 100 Footer" on my bike and ended up breaking my arm was great in retrospect. I remember once my friends and I built a raft to sail out to an island in the middle of this lake near to where I lived. I remember that first timeLizzy let me finger herin that old German bunker.
Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I saw any kids playing outside. I suppose they're all inside playing video games or on their phones or something these days.

Tripfags in Canterlot High
Is travel up in Equestria? Ponies seem to like shuttling around frequently all through the year, but winter affords some additional break time as an incentive. Then, too, it also encourages staying close to somewhere warm, so it could cut either way. There's not quite the vacationing on the beach aspect to the season, but different towns might have their own special decorations for the time of year. And past the Hearth's Warming and close holidays, the familial obligations let up. Maybe ponies wouldn't mind going to hot springs or the southern border, either. It could be an interesting time to try and see the country.
