What's next for a big, country-wide celebration that the Princesses can get in on? There must be something that can serve as a respectable excuse to get out and have fun during working hours! Not that it's a major concern, but Celestia was never one to slack in keeping up appearances (much more efficient to get others for gala disruptions and the like) and Luna's been acutely self-conscious since returning from the moon. And ponies love a good party, so it would serve everyone's interests!The proposed Snowfest might be lacking a hook, though.

Applejack's family has a good deal more free time during winter. It's not that Sweet Apple Acres is necessarily unproductive in the coldest part of the year; there are always chores to be done, and winter produce exists, too. The farm may not handle those, however; the orchards are decidedly apple-based, not orange or pear. Maybe that's good for their Manehattanite kin, but in Ponyville, there's a lot of waiting for spring. Not the idle kind, though - Applejack might as well enjoy her holiday with family and friends as long as she can!
