You walk over to Halley and her parents. Halley is doing some stretches. You speak to her mother.
"So, are they all ready?"
>"Almost. He hits better when he's unrestricted."
She motions for Halley's father to come to her. He walks over and kneels as she takes off his coat and shirt.
>"No go show that inanimate object who's boss."
>"Mmm."
He picks up Halley and plops her on his back. He then starts to do pushups while Halley counts. Lily walks over to you two.

>"Hmm? Oh, he got that from me."
>"Oh dear! Was there an accident?"
>"Wha? Hah! No, that was from when we first met. He was sent to try and kill me by these other pirates."
She sighs.
>"Ahhhh, what a first date."
Lily laughs nervously.

Tarin calls to you.
>"We're all set up here!"
"Great. Are you guys ready?"
Halley's dad gives you a thumbs up.
"Alright. Let's see how this works!"

You get a tap on your shoulder. It's her mom

You feel like an earthquake just pasesd through you and into the ground. A blinding light fills the room. Just as you're about to duck behind cover, you're hit with a blast of sound and energy.
It's destructive.
It's powerful.
It's really hot.
You shut your eyes and hope it ends soon.

The dust settles.
Nina whistles.

She forcefully pats you on the back and you cough up some dust.

The others pop up from behind some scorched boxes. Various oos and ahhs fill the room.
Deinna walks up to the gun.

Halley's mom pokes it as bits of it fall apart.

The dirty looking mare is climbing over boxes to get to Halley's dad.

He grunts in a satisfied manner.

Halley jumps onto her dad's back.

You look up at the now sizeable hole in the roof.
"Uhh, we can probably fix that for you."

He points to his tattoos.
She crawls over him. She pokes at his tattoos, frantically measuring them, staring at them and even sniffing them.

Grace walks up to her and reveals her arm.
>"They're tattoos that enhance the powers of a stave."
>"Ah stave? You mean zose silly magic things?"
She nods.
>"I see. MORTEMER!"
A large parasprite-looking thing flies over to her.

It gives a little salute then zips away.
While Spark pries Halley and her parents for information, the pegasus mare that took you there walks up to you.

Sure, Equestrians can keep everything as mild as they like it. But isn't part of the experience of life in the wilder extremes? Hotter and colder days, heavy precipitation - they make the perfect days even better by comparison! And besides, some ponies are bound to like conditions not as favored by others. But all ponies can get by, and if anything ever gets too overbearing, the pegasi can fix it!
So no one will mind if Fluttershy just stays warm at home for the next day or so, right?

Just keeping ponies in enough snow to enjoy themselves is enough to ask - not so deep that it's a hazard or a nuisance to locomotion, not so light that it can melt into a disappointing muddy slush. Maintaining equilibrium isn't that much of a challenge for pegasi, but winter offers a unique canvas for showcasing weather artistry. Preparing the drifts and banks and dusting the trees just so - every day can be a newly pristine view.Do the weather pegasi awaken much earlier than most ponies?
