I haven't dealt with Ares since before they fucked over the owner and kicked him out of his own company. They were great before that but I can't respect such a shitty move. I got a poly80 lower from them and it built into a great rifle. You can buy whole rifle kits right from poly80's website though so there isn't much of a reason to go to other dealers. I put a PTAC upper on mine and it kicks ass. No accuracy or reliability problems as long as I oil it every now and then.
After the first one, you'll be totally confident building more. It's pretty simple to finish a polymer lower. Much better than an aluminum imo.

I don't think we have the capability to make a contested landing. If we needed to capture a port or something we would have to figure out how to do it on the fly, because we don't even train for it.

Any legit modern Geiger counter would have a "GM pancake probe", as pictured. That's a Ludlum Model 3 ratemeter with a Model 44-9 pancake probe. They are fucking expensive, and the probes break when dropped. But they work for all current purposes except neutrons.

With ASP you get lifetime warranty and potential legal defense if someone sues you for using it on them. That should be covered in your state endorsed baton training, along with authorized techniques.
Good gear to get are S&W cuffs rather than shitty cheap cuffs, because the key is small enough to fit all other cuff keyholes. If you buy cheap handcuffs then the key won't fit in the smaller S&W cuff keyhole. So just buy a pair of Smiths.
Get nylon everything is my suggestion. Only buy what your post and state endorsed security level authorizes you to carry. And have a god damn small notebook and pen on you at all times for Christ sake, too many guards don't carry note taking gear. So their shit is inaccurate when they try to remember small insignificant stuff.
