Im about to buy some night sight for my P99 but I find myself between Meprolight and Trijicon..
Does anyone have experience with both? Which looks more illuminated?

I only have the Meprolight TruGlo.
Fairly basic, solid sight. It's held up for probably 20 years at this point. Getting too dim to see reliably at night.

I measured out the ranges given in the specs for the different versions of the S-400 and plotted them out on a map centered on Latakia- the general area in which they have been deployed. This means that given over the horizon flight data, ect, it's at least conceivable that that the S-400s based at Hmeimim could target and engage US and Turkish aircraft just taking off from both Incirlik AND RAF base on Cyprus, as well as pose a significant threat to air traffic in and out of Diyarbakir without a detour. This doesn't mean they can arbitrarily hit anything in these radii, only that the missiles have the range to do so if properly guided.
The Russians have been setting up an Integrated Air Defense System in Syria including land and sea-based S-300s (such as the Slava class Moskva missile cruiser.) The meat and potatoes of IADS is networking sensors and command/control, which means RADAR aerostats, UAVs, GCI, network-capable fighters, AWACS, satellites, any of these can provide targeting data for a shooting solution. After that, when the target aircraft enters the range of the missile's own RADAR- it takes over for the rest of the flight. Very similar to forward observers lasing a target for a cruise missile strike, ect.
Funny, I threw together a quick map just for shit and giggles yesterday. Not very accurate, but still: 400km max range (orange), 250km max effective (red)
600km is only the max range of target aquisition.
The 48N6 version of the missile has a range of 250km at MACH 6.2 The 40N6 missile has a range of 400km. the 9M96E2 missile has a range of 120km.

What's the best 12 gauge reloading press for a beginner for reloading 12g brass (actual brass shells) with only black powder and wadding?
My constraints:
Limited space.
Limited budget / don't want to overspend for a first reloader.
Preferably with a primer-press included.
I'm going to be loading ultralight loads with no shot generally, unsure if that'd affect the decision.

It exists solely for importer standards or as a tack-on charge. If you're a regular dude getting 922r thrown at him, it's the least of your present concerns.

He is right in practice. No one could reasonably determine without some sort of damning self confession that your rifle was in violation so they tend to wait till they have your gun confiscated during a drug raid then tack the charge up on Jamal's tapco'd AK.

Cabela's is selling new production 54R for a decent price. Bud's Gun Shop is selling surplus ammo for $0.25 a round base. I'd recommend buying new production ammo once the Bud's stuff runs out.

1:10 Ballistol to water solution. Flush it down the bore with a turkey baster. Wipe receiver with solution. Wipe off the bolt externals with the solution. Clean everything as normal when you get home and be sure to clean off the firing pin as well, removal from the bolt not necessary. A can of Ballistol will last forever for this purpose, and the extra time taken amounts to a minute or two at the range at the end of shooting.

I will be getting some work done on my 1911 that will require a refinish. However I'm not sure whether or not to reblue it, or go with parkerizing since I don't shoot it that much.That way, I don't have to constantly oil it, etc (please correct me if im wrong).
Will parkerizing make it look like pic related, and will it interfere with how "smooth" the slide action is?

Parkerizing will leave your gun feeling gritty until all those craters get smoothed out.
If you do get it parkerized, hose the disassembled gun down with breakfree, then let it sit for a week or two until the breakfree thickens up.

anyone got any tips on cheap arrows? feather fletched for traditional archery specifically. i want to learn archery but i dont want to cry over a lost 20 dollar arrow, and the ones i make from 3/8 inch dowels are crap.
im not overly asked about what material the shaft is just the fletching.

Ive been wanting a .45acp Carbine for awhile and i happened to stumble upon the TNW ASR.
I'm just curious if anyone here has any experience with these as I really kind of want one. especially since they're starting to produce a 10mm auto version now as well.
