So I want to get a Kalashnikov patterned rifle, mainly because I'd like to be able to use TULA ammo and fire off a couple hundred rounds whenever I go to the range without spending a ton.
When looking into variants, fuck. There are so many manufacturers and so many different types that I'm a little dazed.
So, /k/. Who has an AK? What do you think about it? How much did you spend (in $$, but also in time to do any mods)? Who makes solid quality AKs that are affordable for a piss poor college student?
Image is the "AK14" by parabellum arms that has a few of their mods mounted onto it.
I feel like I should add that so far I'm looking at a WASR II, and doing some sanding and filing work internally to make the action smoother and the trigger pull shorter. I figure with a budget of ~$1200, a $500 rifle gives me some wiggle room for a stock, grip, optic, etc.

WASR-2's are gonna be the most affordable fully converted 74's on the market and they're good guns. The issue is finding reliable amounts of 5.45 in this country, its not like 7.62 or 5.56.
DDI, Century, and Arsenal are usually good to go. If you want a historically accurate build look at Atlantic Firearms.

Depends on what style of ak you want, either an akm or ak103 which is the modernized style
Guys i have a question and i dont know where to ask it so i will ask it here hoping you will understand. Where i live, you cant just have guns. so if you want one you got to buy one from the streets, and i want to buy one cause i rather kill an ISIS when i see em then just be behaded for being an 'infidel'
The thing is i want to make sure that if i have the gun, and i get caught by police, that i dont get blamed on for possible earlier kills that have been done with this pistol.
So my question is how do i clean a gun that i buy from the street in order to be safe to get caught with (exept for possesion of firearms)

Okay, say you get a gun and carry it. If guns are illegal, how are you going to learn to use it? How are you going to feed it?
Carrying isn't enough, you need to work on your practical shooting skills, clearing malfunctions, etc. If there are no legal ranges and no shops for buying ammo and supplies, how are you going to learn to defend yourself effectively?

I know you don't specifically mention laws in your post other than stealing weapons from a police station, however you do talk about difficulty in legally acquiring firearms. The criminals you worry about don't give you the courtesy of following the law, so why do you give it to them? Why not take advantage of porous borders with eastern Europe to get yourself some firepower?

I've made this mistake twice... an M1A and a GI 1911. I hate both of them. At least I was able to get rid of the M1A for a reasonable price. The 1911 is my only pistol at this point, so I don't want to get rid of it for the time being.
Everyone makes mistakes. You just make a lot of them. I'll go ahead and assume you have two problems:
1) you don't properly research the guns your buying
2) you don't "sleep on it," which would kill 99% of your impulse buys.
I've rarely kicked myself about "the ones that got away" because there's always something else coming in. Just sell what you have for as good a price as you can get if you don't want them (although I'd keep the TT33, as it IS milsurp and that's always nice) and be more cautious about what you buy.

In Belgium, security guards aren't allowed to carry a torch longer than 31cm (12,2 inch) because it could be used as a weapon otherwise...
