Good way of making coffee for occasional coffee drinker who normally drinks instant? Should I get one of these?

French press makes better coffee and is easier to use/clean.

French Press is best. Smooth, easy, and you don't loose the oils from that hipster cold brewing thing that everyone raves about on here.

Second, even a cheap ass one is great, spent fifteen bucks on one and it treats me well, lets you control the entire process

If I'm American and eat french fries with mayonnaise instead of ketchup, does that make me a hipster wanna be meme eater?

I don't understand why this kind of presentation is considered appealing and worthy of a top restaurant. This looks retarded.

I would be miserable if I didn't have at least some means of cooking food. I guess the best advice would be to make sure you have those amenities at your next place, otherwise you're stuck with microwaved and fast food
>>
>>7330850
I tried saving some money by buying 2 pizzas from PizzaHut for 12.99 (w/ $10off coupon) and eat them on 3 days. It worked last month.

This month I kept trying new stuff. Rotisserie chicken from Kroger/Sam's Club and buying fries from McD/JackInTheBox.

I live on about £150 per month on food. I am not from england and travelling here each university semester means it is too heavy to carry many pans etc. i live off a saucepan, a pan, and two oven dishes to do all my cooking.

i also love instant mashed potatoes

I'm ashamed to admit it too, but I also love instant mashed potatoes for some reason. Their texture is shit, but that flavor.....IDK why I love it, but I do. I also use instant mashed potato flakes for thickening certain soups.
>>
>>7330780
If you buy the anything but plain instant mash, it's got like quadruple the amount of salt normal people put in. Plus all your fat and roasted garlic (or whatever else). Of course it tastes great.
>>
>>7330780
>>7330819
These things, but mashed potatoes are so damn easy to make from scratch that's it's not funny, plus I can use the skins and make them lumpy.
However sometimes I give into sin.

A little faggot. I read a story about how he was working for Macro or something and he got yelled at, so he threw a handful of salt in all the kitchen's sauces, walked out, and never came back. Little hissy fit clown.
>>
>>7330601
I've seen him a few times IRL, seems kind of like an asshole. But then again aside from Boulud who seemed like a genuinely nice guy, most celebrity chefs I've met aren't nice people.

Good food though.

What does /ck/ think about Rosie?

To me she seems like a more than slightly-above average cook. She has been climbing up the chef popularity ladder with her blog and youtube channel. She does 2 recipes per week if I recall.

Are there any recipes that you've used from her?

If you're in a terrible rush, and need to get some food and wolf it down on a busy weekday, it's alright once in a while. Of course, the location in question is perpetually backed up by confused tourists who somehow got the idea that it's a good meal. Probably by reading the same retarded websites that cater to poorfags and continue to claim there's no good food in Manhattan and you have to go to Pelham Park or Sheepshead bay or some shit.

I want to get a nice power blender for making soups, smoothies, etc. Is Vitamix still the best option or is it some meme shit? The Ninjas get good reviews but they seem like shills or idiots most of the time.

How do I into blending?

This says that the Oster Versa is the best value but the Vitamix is actually better and is the only one that can make nut butters.

I'm leaning towards Vitamix but it's very expensive even for the recertified ones.

I have a Philips Avance blender, very happy with it.

Green is definitely the worst raw, I agree.
Still though, in cooking they're mainly used for their colour anyway.
