After I took mushrooms I got the distinct message of spirituality to never eat meat again. It's weird since I'm a southern Texas gentleman who loves steak and barbecue and always hated vegans. But I consider this a direct message from the gods because others who took shrooms reported the same thing.

But when John the Apostle did it, he was specifically told that all meat is good to eat. So. Yeah.

plants are alive too, why don't you think about that on your next shroom trip

Why do places do this? I know "2 or 4" just refers to the amount of food in general, bu if you're going to have something and say "X for two", there should at least be an even number of ever item.

Looking for a new 8" chef's knife for around $150. Last one was a German knife so I'm thinking of trying something Japanese. Anyone got any experience the different Japanese knife makers and steel types?

I want to get into eating raw/less cooked meats. Which meats are safer to eat raw? Which ones should I avoid? I.e. I'm pretty sure you should never fucking eat raw chicken, I don't know if the same applies to all meats, maybe it's less risky.

>I'm pretty sure you should never fucking eat raw chicken

I've had chicken sashimi at restaurants... its safe it you have the right chicken.

Same with pork... nobody has gotten hookworm from pork in centuries.
>>
The only meats that are reasonably safe to eat raw are ones that have been prepared specifically for raw consumption. Raw ground beef and pork are usually produced from whole cuts that are seared on all sides before being freshly ground on a dedicated sterile meat grinder. A reliable butcher would also have these products regularly checked for safety.

Is chilli just a pasteurized version of frijoles rancheros?
14 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
No. They're both cooked so therefore they're both pasteurized.

And Frijoles rancheros doesn't necessarily include chili peppers at all, whereas chili must.
>>
>>7838342
Beans are also a must in chilli.
Hehe.

8 hours from now, we have our federal election.
it is a tradition to buy a sausage on bread, with onion and slather it in tomato sauce and eat in while you're waiting in line to vote.
its called a sausage sizzle.
they're also found outside bunnings, a national hardware store chain and also

but tomorrow is a federal election!
so what I am proposing is for everyone to try the good old sausage sizzle, find some thin beef sausages preferably with a natural casing and fry them up, fry some sliced onion up too.
put them on bread, squirt some ketchup on them.
its nothing special but satisfies somehow

how does /ck/ feel about canned fish (nOT including garbage like tuna)? i like herring and sardines, and the occasional canned salmon, but i currently only eat the more expensive stuff like king oscar's. are there any cheaper brands that aren't complete garbage? i had some $1 can sardines once that had really big bones and tough filets and to be frank they turned me off of cheaper fish. i haven't tried alternate packings other than fresh water (usually get olive oil), wondering how sauces like mustard/tomato/hot sauce turn out.

Varies greatly by brand. Some of it is garbage, some of it is god-tier. (And the stuff I'm describing as god tier has a price to match)
>>
My grandpa would always make sardines on crackers as a snack. He said it would "get me ready for pussy."
>>
>>7838112

Mackerel is good. God-like salmon is also god-like, but I don't really have access to those really really good canned salmon in my local supermarket, so unless I want to order online or something I am out of luck.

I am not picky about my food, so I can endure the cheaper kind of fish, so I am afraid I am not a good guideline when it comes down to tolerable cheap food.
