so guys i'm doing a keto diet. i've done this before when i was 19 or so and lost 50 pounds.
what are your favorite keto foods/dishes? i've mostly been eating eggs with spinach and cheese, walnuts, cheese, meats, cheese, walnuts, cheese, meats... uhh... celery with cream cheese and peanut butter...
i'm thinking of making a keto cheesecake with almonds and fake sugar... last night i went to the gas station at 2am to get four bottles of diet soda and two bags of jerky...
Aspartame always fucked with my keto diet. Sucralose to a much lesser extent but I just stuck with unsweetened iced tea.
I would make at lot of tuna salad eaten in a lettuce wrap. Bacon is surprisingly good with it, not even memeing. Also adding some curry powder to tuna salad is a nice change.
Cauliflower mashed potatoes and pork cabbage rolls.

Isn't keto just atkins with more vegetables?

>>7353466
low carb, keto, atkins, all the same shit. just starve your body of sugars until it enters ketosis, atkins was the original.
>>7353463
i'm interested in how aspartame would do that. i'm not saying that it does, i'm just actually curious if it could. obviously there are no actual sugars present so wouldn't your...

When you eat, do you cut the food with your knife in your right hand and fork in your left hand, then pass your fork to your right hand to bring it to your mouth?
Or do you eat like a normal person?
>>7359726
>normal person
Normie.
I eat like a red blooded fucking American, you globally unimportant being.
Unless I'm eating steak I cut everything with the side of my fork..
So huge problem here. You know how when you just want to drink a cup of tea or need some hot water for your ramen you will start boiling water. In my case I always fill the water boiler up with more water than I need because why the fuck not. At the end I use up only a small amount of the water which seems like a waste to me.
Any tips what I can do with boiled water?
Literally anything

Yo /ck/,
My mom was nice enough to give me extra money. I'm going to use it for food that I rarely eat, taste good, and is more expensive.
Anyone have some recipes that are a little expensive? Something a little different, perhaps like acorn squash spaghetti.
I'm thinking of making a couple of fish dishes; it cost more than meat and I rarely get to eat it.
Also, I'm making sweet crepes right now. Any ideas excluding jam?
>>7359440
you mean spaghetti squash? because that isn't expensive at all
>>7359453
Yeah, not expensive, but different. It was a bad example.
Do you guys think a papaya could make for a good sextoy?
The shape just seems right but I think you would need a condom to prevent the seeds from getting inside your urethra

No artificial sweeteners here anon. Cook from scratch and you won't have to worry about sweeteners again.
So, next winter I'm going to be doing a pop-up food truck at a local bar. It's probably going to be tacos and tortas.
Anyway, I'll be testing recipes and want to ask you guys a question:
Let's say you're a friend of mine and I say "once a month, I'll make you dinner over at my place. It's going to be recipe testing for [redacted restaurant name], so in return for free food, here's an index card and a pen. There are no wrong answers, and put down what you really think. I have thick skin and if some part of it I love...

Of course it's fair. Why are you even asking?
>>7359253
Well, I've been working in kitchens for years. So, my idea of what's okay to ask and expect of people is different. I've told and been told in the kitchen that things taste like shit. There, its okay because we all want things to be better.
I just don't know how normies would handle it. Every time I make dinner for friends now, they always say how wonderful things are. I feel like they're just paying lip-service. I always find something to get pissed about when I cook.
I'm...

The Question is, would they really shell out actual money again and again?

Have you been to a maid cafe in Japan? Did you enjoy the food? This was taken at At Home Cafe in Akihabara.
>>7358991
maid cafes sound like a good idea, but the food looks terrible
only redeemable thing is the hot maids
and i can't help but imagine the food being prepared by some greasy weirdo
>>7358991
Tried it.
Bland and souless like all Japanese food.
I couldn't wait to leave that country.

you know you can buy pizza bases, right?
I just ate a 7 person veggie platter all to myself. Pic only partially related. Mine just had carrots, celery and broccoli and ranch dressing.
Should I be concerned? Discuss your favorite veggie platters, pre-made or otherwise.
You just ate a plate of stale vegetables, sold at a 1000% markup, dipped in your daily caloric intake's worth of the worst dressing ever created.
Congratulations, OP.
>>7358856
Thanks anon.
What's your favorite veggie spread then?
>>7358860
I actually like the one posted in the OP, even though a third of it is fruit.
Top three dips for vegetable platters would be anchoïade, spinach artichoke, and homemade hummus.
Do bananas maintain their nutritional value when used in bread/cake?
>>7358793
Everything goes out the fucking window when it gets baked. Beware.
>>7358803
yeah even calories. you can pretty much eat only baked food and starve to death
Bananas are high in potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6 and adequate in other B vitamins. Minerals tend to be unaffected by heat, and only Thiamine (Vitamin B1) is very sensitive to heat. Therefore, baking is unlikely to be significantly detrimental to the nutritional value of bananas. Bananas also contain Vitamin C but that vitamin is so abundant in fruits and vegetables that it's pointless to worry about it.
The most typical nutritional deficiencies (iron, magnesium, calcium, folate, zinc, thiamine) are due to a defective diet or malnutrition, not cooking.
