>>1066969 >Is Montreal the best place to go in Canada ? Depends where you are coming from, and what you want. I could certainly see it being the best city in Canada to visit. Toronto might have more stuff, and Vancouver has better outdoors, but Montreal has it's own charm that I think the others lack. >What are some things to do there? If you're younger and like to go out at night, it's good for that. There's 3 large universities in the... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I want to go to one of these cities with my girlfriend for a week in February but I'm having trouble choosing. We're on a rather tight budget and we'd stick to sleeping in a cheap hostel or airbnb room and mainly eating cheap stuff from supermarkets. We plan on eating out somewhere not too expensive a few times and getting coffee at cafes.
Barcelona >have been to before, favorite city that I've ever been to >moderately expensive (100 euro flight both way) >lots... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1069133 I am actually heading to Lisbon in february with my girlfriend. I chose that city, because it is well known that Lisbon is a beautiful city. A few years ago we have been in the south of Portugal and we did not regret it! Really nice coast! But I think tourist spots are always expensive.. in the west.
Hello /trv/. I am thinking of visiting Beirut, but I was wondering if the conflicts that happened in the past years are still going on. How safe would the city be? Also, how does visa-on-arrival work? Is there anything I should be aware of other than what the name implies? And lastly, is there any other cities worth visiting in Lebanon? Would crossing to Jordan be worth it? How much would that cost me in addition?
oh, one question I forgot: If there is a Israel stamp on your passport, you can't enter Lebanon. So I was wondering if the opposite is enforced too. Would I still be able to travel to Israel some time later with a Lebanon stamp?
Hi, everyone ! Osaka-city(Japan), a nice regulation was approved. It is called [The regulations about coping to Hate speech in Osaka-city] . In Osaka-city, When you say about “the specific race”, the specific race hears that ,and they scold it is Hate speech, Only in this, Osaka-city takes sides with the specific race, and checks your name and announces it. If you are caught in the specific race's crosshairs ,Osaka-city checks your name and announces it. Do you come to such wonderful Osaka-city?
I'm planning to travel to India, with my friend, next summer. I would like to see Mumbai and spend some time over there but also since I'm going for at least two weeks I would like to visit some other places. I'll be flying to Mumbai as it seems the cheapest connection. However when we're there we'll probably use trains. I've started reading wikitravel but it isn't really helpful for choosing what to see. Especially when I don't even have a rough idea of where I want to go (except for Mumbai). I'm hoping you could give me some... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I am going to Brussels, Bruges, Maastricht, and Amsterdam for a comparative government trip between March 4th and 14th. I am from the US midwest, and I have never left the country, but I have travelled to most of the US states. I am wondering what I need to know about international travel, specifically in Belgium and The Netherlands. My daily itinerary is filled from 10AM to about 4PM with trips to government buildings and meetings and classrooms, but after 4PM I am free to do as I please. I'm 29 years old and this is part of a Masters Program, so I will... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
That KFC thread inspired me to make this one. When I travel I make sure food is one of the main aspects of experiencing the different locations I visit. I've had some amazing food on my travels, dishes that I would never be able to try in my home town. I always try to eat as much local food as possible and often reminisce about the food especially if it's a cuisine I absolutely can't find locally.
The best food I ever had was in Mexico. I traveled around the country a couple years back and only ate Mexican food throughout my time there. I tried dishes from... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
This is not a very original opinion, but I nominate Vietnam for the world's best cuisine. Forget phó, those gooks can throw a quail egg and a handful of cilantro onto a hot plate on the sidewalk and hand you something wonderful. I've seen it happen. From what I know of Thai food it's a real contender, so I should drag my fat ass to Thailand some day. Sri Lankan curries were fantastic with all the little side dishes. I've never been to India for comparison, though. When it comes to simple cooking, Moroccans can do more with meat, onions and potatoes... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Poutine is the only good food we have but I only eat it a few times a year to not be a complete fatass.
>>1070009 I love Vietnamese food, definitely want to go there in the next few years mainly for the food. I haven't been to Asia yet but I can't wait as the Asian food I tried here in Canada is amazing.
-Walk through the casino/hotel when possible to reduce the time outside, as it gets rather warm (but then again, I'm basing it on March and Summer weather) -try catching some of the free shows (such as the fountains, the Sirens of Treasure Island, and Circus Circus) -do the buffets
So I applied for a semester abroad in China and received confirmation that I can study in Shanghai. Problem is that I also have the opportunity to study in Beijing so I wanted to ask you guys what you would choose.
Which city is better? Which city has more options for travelling? Which city has more interesting sights?
Anybody with experience here that could tell me about both places?
I have about $4000 CAD. I would be leaving from Toronto. I just want to get away from it all. Someplace warmish but I want to avoid like parasites, infected stuff, basically I don't wanna come home and deal with illness or in extreme case be dead. Somewhere safe and politically stable.
Trying to get the most amount of days away. Umm beach, resort? Hotel? Sights to see? I'm not sure. I just want to relax and enjoy before I have to start university in the fall.
Canadian Male, 18, of South Asian descent. In case that helps with areas and how friendly they are known to be.
Sorry, but last post I will make until replies. I also have a name of middle eastern origin even though I don't identify with it. I don't really wanna go someplace filled with Donald Trump minded people ruining my vacation and filling it with negativity.
