I have 2k hours on it and I STILL can't breach 3.5k MMR. At least I developed a sixth sense to detect and remove enemy wards.
So after hearing countless times that this game is the second coming of Christ - I decided to give it a shot.
I knew absolutely nothing about it at the time (save for it being an anime based game), and the general consensus was that I should go into it blind.
So I did.
I'm not sure if I just 'dont get it'. But do grown ass men seriously enjoy playing a what is basically a juvenile highschool simulator with supernatural elements?
I'm having a hard time not comparing this to teen romance fiction like Twilight and The Hunger Games.
Everything from the characters, dialogue and story is incredibly cheesy and hamfisted. All the characters are whiny little shits who blow everything out of proportion and make terrible decisions constantly.

Yes, it is pretty much just highschool friendship and romance simulator for people who never had either in real life.

I love speculating but it seems pointless to put a lot of thought into this because we are going to find out in just 2 weeks.
Still, my guesses:

-Vastly improved optics
-Haptic feedback somehow
It's tough to speculate on this because who knows if "breakthrough" is actual or PR spin. If it's a real breakthrough I almost expect something completely new, not features we've heard about before.

Felicia's a better beginner character than Demitri. You can get pretty far with Felicia just by jumping, dashing, and using normal attacks and throws. Demitri takes some more finesse, because he has a typical shoto moveset in a game where the typical shoto strategies don't really work.

I'm interested in all sorts of video games that allow me to explore space or fight in it. RTS, 4X, space combat, doesn't matter what it is, so long as it's in space.
I've played Independence War (both), TIE Fighter, X-Wing, Elite/Frontier, Homeworld (series), Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, Galactic Civilizations 2, Master of Orion, Star Trek: Armada, SW: Empire at War, Star Control, Wing Commander, Freelancer, Precursors, Privateer and... that's about it, I think. At least, that's what I can remember at the moment.
I'm already downloading Freepsace 1&2, so no need to recommend me that.
Also, feel free to use this thread for general discussion of all space-related video games.
Note, I'm just using this Star Citizen image because I like. I know absolutely nothing about SC and am not really interested in learning anything about it until the actual game is fully released, but the way I hear that's years and years away.
Well, just in case your mention of Star Control means the original Star Control, you definitely should play Star Control 2 (now open sourced and released as The Ur-Quan Masters).
