How the fuck do you beat this guy unless you have a strong as fuck weapon? defiled chalice dungeons gave me less issues than this guy still does after numerous playthroughs. I made a new rifle spear build and I couldn't get past this boss until I upgraded my axe and spammed charged R2 attacks with fire paper and beast pellets. First phase is alright, and the second isn't too bad, but the third is insanity difficulty and you need antidotes to deal with the aoe poison which are in very limited supply.
I've tried throwing blood cocktails, but in the third phase he's so fast that you can't hit him when he's running away from you anyway. FUCK YOU BLOOD-STARVED BEAST

He's honestly the second-hardest non-DLC boss after Logarius.
Just leave, go somewhere else like Hemwick or whatever, and level up there. Then come back and fight him later.

Why do so many people still think VC1 is the best game in that series? The graphics were better but are they really that important compared to the other improvements that were made (especially by 3). And I don't understand the complaints about the split maps in the psp games. All the big maps in VC1 did was add to how overpowered scouts were compared to other units.

The main issue in 2 and 3 is the grind and maps. That's basically it. Also buying anything other than accuracy is detrimental.

Square Enix can’t say anything of the time being as far as map info goes, but they’re not going to put much focus on whether they’ll call it open world or sandbox. However, Nomura wants to have some kind of environment with backgrounds that can be affected by the characters.
