Anyways let's have a thread about this game. I can easily see this being my top 3 favorite JRPGs of all time
It is tied with Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest VIII as my favorite JRPG. And if the series didn't fall apart, Suikoden would easily be my favorite video game series overall. Suikoden I-III is still the best ongoing story I've seen in video games. Its just incomplete.
Also, you should stop posting here and go play the game. Before you get spoiled. You're not even 10% through the game.

Can someone explain the Twitch phenomenon? Why do people want to watch these talent-less people stream games? I can understand watching fightan tournaments, but why do people care about the everyday streamer?

For most braindeads, it's easy mode social interaction, a chance to be part of something popular with minimal effort. Streamers benefit in channel growth and money by faking a token level of friendship and niceness with viewers that chat/follow/subscribe, and people who are unfulfilled in their social lives(or marriages - check out streams where a physically attractive guy is streaming anything and being overtly friendly) eat this up. You can especially see this effect when people donate/subscribe to a channel and then get this warped idea that they now have some sort of higher standing in channel, but have a closer friendship to the streamer and deserve to have the voice heard/responded to. Mental illness.
Many popular variety streamers are without talent, skill, or even genuine passion for what they're playing as the flavor of the month. Maybe part of the allure is, people see themselves in the streamer and think they belong? They don't see high skill and therefore aren't somehow threatened, perhaps.
