Beat the game a few days ago, it's probably one of my favorites now. So was Iwazaru Kun Lan the whole time, or was that just him in his clothes at the end? Whats that supposed to be symbolic of, west and east not having clear boundaries and kun lan (east) being able to decieve Harman (west), therefore causing the game to keep going?
Also, does anybody know if Hand in killer7 has been translated? I need some stuff to help me understand the game better.

>>338432010
>As for its story, it felt like they had a cohesive plot but than cut it up for no good reason
Spot on. K7 (and to a lesser extent NMH) are cryptic, but their story is built around them being cryptic and benefits from it. KiD on the other hand is cryptic for the sake of being cryptic, and its somewhat weird but otherwise "normal" story gets turned into a clusterfuck for no good reason.

>>338435136
Play other Suda 51 games i.e.
Twilight syndrome, Moonlight syndrome, Silver Case, FSR, Silver Case 25 Ward, Blood + One night kiss, Samurai Shamploo, NMH and other games in which he actually wrote.
LC, KiD, and the like in which he is only part of a list of writers and executive cant represent in any way his actual work as those games are often completely publisher driven and in the words of Mikami SotD was so bad an experience with a publisher that it destroyed Suda as an artist.
Newer Grasshopper games only use Suda´s name as marketing, a sort of branding.
Real downside is that Suda´s most personal games were only released in Japan. He really likes to write so they are pretty text driven FSR style.
>>338436393
It's just, you have that face on all the time now and all you ever want is to rid the board of faggotry, knowing you are the problem.
>>338434562
Tell me, you madman: Do you really feel so strongly about Killer7, or was that only a pretense for baiting somebody into a really fucking weird blowjob?
>>338436617

>>338436407
>>338436523
What about that new open world one that he's doing? Let it Die / Lily Bergamo? Is he writing that?
>>338436437
That "RECLAIMING MY VIRGINITY" sign is partly facetious (on a strict and literal reading, it was entirely true at the time apart from "all day every day") and no, I don't pretend to have gone straight or anything.
I met the girl on Grindr by cosmic luck. Yes, a real girl. Whenever I see a guy with a girl in their profile pic (usually some Facebook-tier friend-selfie), I always sarcastically hit them up with "She's hot."
And apparently, this time, she was informed and interested.
I was so alarmed about her coming over that I thought she'd try to steal from me or some shit, so I hastily put a camcorder on. It was blocked, so it only recorded the audio for the duration of the event. I still haven't listened to it yet.
>>338435450
>>338435684
It's around $50 on Amazon, and I live on an air force base in bum fuck nowhere
>>338430083
Most likely Sony suggested they changed Lily Bergamo into Let it die so it had a more western appeal while using the same basic concept.
>>338436678
The question wasn't even aimed at you, namefag
>>338436617
I 100% wrote that ad to express sentiment on killer7, and it could not have had any game other than killer7 referenced. Same goes for the Deeblo Two ad, to an even stronger extent (that one almost serves as a review).
I also do not ever give head without recip.

>>338436716
Doesnt look like it at all, and he is not directing it in any chance.
Good thing is that he is writing a manga that will release in english this year and this fall the Silver Case is going to be remastered and released in english for PC, if it sells well they want to release the sequels:FSR and 25 ward, so if you want more real Suda those are the ones you should buy.

>>338438330
I don't do cursive and it's not worth showing.
>>338438118
It could perfectly be that way, I just name Sony(the game is a PS exclusive after all) because they are the most probable to suggest a"western tone" like the one on Let it die, LB was announced after the Gung ho acquisition, so it was supposedly going to happen, In fact, I saw live the TGS Gung Ho stream where they promoted the game with a cosplayer of the MC sitting alongside Suda.

I respect you but being a console purist is stupid when there are no noticeable issues and clear improvements. The graphics are really elevated to another level when played in high resolutions because of everything being gradients or solid colors.
The native widescreen hack in dolphin works great in gameplay but it stretches the text so I don't recommend it because a lot of the game is reading.
I need to break out the Wii/GC and play this again. It's weird as fuck.

It's a game where you kill everything. It's not complicated. Appreciate the gallows humor as it is, and not as some hypocritical condemnation of the player. It isn't. There's a lot of ways to devlop a game in the vein of killer7. It doesn't have to be primarily about ghost busting, iszk and iszkland are still used in other Suda games I think.
>>338445643
You're popping into the thread to say, what?
Or are you going to do the, "you're autistic" thing again.
>>338445643
Don't bother replying, he's highly autistic.
Just ignore all saucy/sauce(dead)pan posts and don't give him the attention he so desperately craves.
>>338445795
Despite seeing someone get visibly upset over a completely unrelated game, talk about it in the killer7 thread, and have you parrot the responses of your elders, you still don't care to give credit where it's due.
>>338445625
If I remember right, Suda 51 was deeply influenced by punk rock. That's not to say that you need a punk rock aesthetic to make a good game. I think *any* aesthetic could arguably be used to make a similar game.
>>338445931
Spiritual successor could range anywhere from Hitman to Silent Hill or El Shaddai, it's a really broad piece of media.
>>338445917
What the fuck are you even trying to say?
Did you stroke out mid sentence?
>>338446106
Even if I did I don't think you will get an answer to your first question, notthat you wanted one.
>>338445528
Make it No More Heroes, but with guns, and have it take place in a similar town to K7. As much as I love NMH and K7, I hate how you can't "explore" the city of K7 and the town in NMH serves only as a hub.
Damn, now I want to replay Killer 7. I still have the disc around here somewhere. I could play it with a Wii, right? My Gamecube went missing, sadly.
>>338446181
There is nothing wrong with this, No More Heroes deeply parallels killer7's message.
Post your favourite handsome men character
Also the animated part of them was awesome, if my memory doesn't fails me my boy Dan Smith stars in that scene
>>338446304
Handsome Blue!
>>338434313
I think the bomb-zombies laugh?
>>338446395
That's good enough.
How the hell did anyone enjoying playing this game?
And not the keyword "Playing." The story is excellent and I don't think a AAA game has ever gone more surreal, it's like a bad acid Trip. But man moving around and shooting the Smiles is so awkward and not fun.
I wonder why they didn't just go with a conventional 3rd Person combat system ala Resident Evil.
>>338446304
>that fucking hype during the Handsome Men sequence
I had no idea that it was scripted at the time, but I'm glad I didn't know because holy shit that part made me so hype.
>>338444597
Yes, but it doesn't guilt YOU. You're merely living out the ecstasy of destroying this man and everything around him.
>>338446494
I was playing it with 6 other friends when it happened, we all took turns playing each character. was pretty fun stuff. although the guy who elected to be garcian got screwed
Modernism is very important. killer7 demonstrates a lot of modernist themes found in novels like Brave New World and Island, deconstructionism is also somewhat prevalent in the game, the lack of certainty and meditations on what is real, and what is unreal are all there.
The game also demonstrates a comprehensive awareness of semiotic language and the readerly. The dialogue between characters is heavily textured and while the game is not all that deep, it is filled with adventure and meaning.
>video game is responsible for myfemdomfetish.
I don't know how to feel about this.

>>338446447
It's just a rail shooter I can see why people wouldn't like it but the movement and controls aren't really awkward.
>>338446782
Nothing wrong with Femdom unless you let anything bigger than a finger go in your ass.
If you have ever read brave New World, you can understand how a man can learn to hate the exact opposite thing he is supposed to appreciate, a theme that is very reasonably expressed in killer7!

>Maybe there were other reasons that the control was so limited. Maybe it was to show off fancy, low angle camera shots - which lends to credence to the "style over substance" mantra already being chanted. Maybe the programmers were just lazy and wanted to nail an easy-to-use control method without bogging down the mechanics. Maybe it was just to force the dream-like feeling of the game. In your dreams, you feel as if you're in control, but everything is linear - you're watching yourself. Given the craziness of the game, this would almost make sense.
>Or maybe - and this could be a stretch, but stay with me - maybe it was done to piss off Americans.
>No, seriously.
>I can't find too many sources for Japanese game reviews outside of Famitsu, but it scored pretty well over there. Here in America, the reviews have been all over the place. And most of the negative ones were because of that "on-rails" movement thing.
>I'm totally taking a shot in the dark, but maybe the typical Japanese person would pick up Killer7, and say "Hmmm. I cannot directly move my character. This is odd." Then shrug it off and enjoy the hell out of it - because maybe full control just isn't that important. Whereas, judging by the mass reaction, a typical American would pick it up and say "What? I can't move my character? This is BULLSHIT." On the opposite side of the coin, I've been told some Japanese gamers despise the game because it's too much like a first-person shooter - Halo sells systems here in America, but they're hideously unpopular over there. So maybe the game may offend sensibilities of both cultures, just on different levels. (In the end, I suppose it doesn't matter - the game sold poorly in both territories.)
TL;DR - It was meant to make Americans who expect freedom feel limited in order to go with the game's theme of West/East relations.
>>338446782
top tier fetish, IMO. At least you aren't a foot fag or cuck.
>>338437598
>>338438434
Why how
>>338446902
And then it becomes wrong?
>>338447097
There are really long load times on the game.
>>338447097
Notciably worse graphics
Terrible, TERRIBLE load times - which is really bad considering that you're constantly changing rooms during the game
What are some other arthouse/post-mmodern games like Killer7?
MGS2, what else?
>>338447261

>>338447261

How so?
>>338447261
flower, sun and rain.
>>338447246
Yeah, you're going to be running in and out of load times a lot. It'd be best to emulate it or play the GCN version.
>>338447261
Postmodern games can range anywhere from:
Eternal Darkness
killer7
MGS2
Indigo Prophecy
Call of Cthulu
Metal Gear Solid 4
I think even some Rockstar games can be considered postmodernist, at length.
>>338447458
>Rockstar games can be considered postmodernist, at length.
such as?
>>338447130
From what I've seen, there's a loading time for when you shoot Kun Lan's hand. Imagine how jarring that shit is
>>338447401
There are a lot more modernist themes in killer7, for you to play through the game and say it's nothing like literature from the 1940's would be weird.
It also has some post modern themes, but not enough for people to go, oh that's literally the Slaughterhouse-Five of video games.
>>338447458
>Emulate it
Even on PCSX2, there's awful loading times.
If they're going to emulate it, make sure it's on Dolphin
>>338447529
Grand Theft Auto V
Max Payne
Vice City
L.A. Noir
>>338446902
>>338447065
Not into anything going in my butt, cheating, or feets. It's mostly the bullying aspect, including being hit, but that's as far as it goes with me. Maybe I'm "wimpie" by modern standards.
>>338447791
I don't understand your fetish, but I can deeply respect it.
Boasting a great soundtrack by Masafumi Takada and Jun Fukuda, killer7 remains the singlemost important piece of storytelling on the GCN, and probably of the sixth generation of video games.
Anyone have a screenshot of the secret armour that Mask de Smith gets from the highschool?
>>338447684
>L.A. Noir
Ugh so much potential. If it just didn't hold your hand so much it could have been a stellar detective game.
Also the whole "facial tell" thing was a really dumb gimmick. As any actor is naturally lying to you, since well that's their job.

I haven't played it yet, but I can only suppose it's as bad as people say it is.

Suda's pre Killer 7 games seem a tad too far out, you know? Like K7 is the perfect blend of different with familiar IMO
>>338446245
Yes nigga lets do this together
Why are there no Suda ports on PS4?
>>338448382
It's worth a play, because it has really good production values and when it shines it shines. It just needed better execution.
As Rockstar took the concept of Red Dead Revolver and then made a Western Masterpiece I hope they one day make sequel to Noir that nearly perfects the idea.
>>338449568
capcom owns k7 so that's never ever
>>338449258
i thought this was supposed to be on 3DS years ago.
>>338449581
I'll try it one day then. I don't mind detective games so it should be fun.
>>338446052
How the fuck do you get Hitman?
>>338449787
Hitman is pretty reasonable. Get paid to kill people, have an itinerary of agents helping you, tons of coded languages and messages, a spiritual successor could be a lot like Hitman.
>>338449697
It was apparently finished for the original ds ages ago but it went unreleased because Suda wanted it to be better than a simple port.
>>338449890
You can't seriously be this retarded, I hope.
>>338449984
I don't care.
>>338449890
>Get paid to kill people, have an itinerary of agents helping you, tons of coded languages and messages
Yeah, I know right? Killer7 totally invented hired killers!
>>338450290
That's not what spirituaal successor means.
You're being an enabler again.
>>338450395
There is no correlation between Hitman and Killer7 that isn't completely superficial.
>>338450526
Hey now that's a post I can understand. You know when you put it like that, I'm likened to draw similarities about uncertainty and all sorts of stoicism elements between the two pieces of media.
I'm glad you cleared that up, this has been a completely non-sarcastic and modest response.
>>338417637
I just downloaded the game file for emulation, Im not too used to emulation so I hope the game runs fine or can actually boot up.
>>338450830
Just remember if you are playing to leave the graphics alone after boot or else your character won't be able to shoot anything. I've beaten the game on all the difficulties, so it's 100% playable, but it still has some kinks.
>>338450830
As long as your have a CPU to back that up and it's installed correctly, you're set.
If you unfamiliar, Emulation has it to where the processor does almost all the work. Both the main part and the graphical side Ina fair margin. For example, people who play Melee online can't run the Fountain of Dreams map due to all of the particle effects.
>>338451059
Anything else I should know? I have a logitech controller for my PC.
Also I bought a physical copy of FSR recently, is it as bad as the reviews make out of it?
>>338450830
there should be a wiki explaining what all the best settings are somewhere.
I know for sure that one of the rendering modes fucks up hit detection. If it feels like you can never hit anything correctly try tweaking it.
>>338451243
Not really, if you have the latest version of Dolphin, it'll split the workload between processor and video card, so you can play it just fine, assuming you aren't playing it with 9xSSAA and other effects.
The older versions tend to run the game pretty badly under post processing AA.
>>338451243
FSR is a game where you walk around and solve puzzles. If you expect it to be anything more you'll be disappointed.
>tfw 4 folders for dolphin
>One for Melee and regular games
>One for Project M and Brawl
>One for 120 FPS Melee
How well does Killer7 work on version 4480? Or do the newer versions run the game better?
does this game still crashes on the first boss when you emulate it?
>>338451979
killer7 runs pretty well on the latest version of dolphin. I tried doing all sorts of stuff to have it run like shit. I have the game though, so it's not like I have any great need to pirate it, I just really like the game.
I was just playing Wind Waker earlier, with literally no hiccups.

I'm at that killer ted house (?) in Encounter.

>>338453556

During the emulation if you try and shoot the wings off the boss, it will drop frames heavily, all the other boss fights are fine except for that.
>>338453595
