When did you realize that Casino is a better movie than Goodfellas? And keep in mind that rewatchable doesn't inherently mean the best.

I like them both

I can't rewatch Casino because of Sharon Stone's character.

Me neither, not to mention how much of a beta de niro is. It's infuriating how pathetic he is.

I was on an acid trip and marathoned Frasier. It was at the point where he couldn't decide between the blonde milf or the likeable redhead. The episode Don Juan in Hell was real trippy.

Are Max Landis and Josh Trank talentless hacks? I'm starting to think this movie was a successful because of its simplistic premise.

Max is a faggot who only made it because of his father.

He has no talent, and his last two bombs shows it.

He'll get his.

Just think about the way more talented writers that are out there right now, but can't break in because of nepotism.
>>
Landis is a shit writer. dude nepotism
>>
Chronicle was basically him ripping off Akira.

Every time he's had to do his own writing, he's been utter shit.

What am i supposed to make of this movie? Is it a masterpiece? Good? Okay? How do i judge something that seems like a japanese soap but on steroids. I enjoyed it but i just don't know how to rate it or critique it.

>Both Lionsgate and the director of its upcoming Gods Of Egypt have apologized for the film’s much-disparaged casting, with Lionsgate releasing a statement, first reported by Forbes today, conceding that the company “failed to live up to our own standards of sensitivity and diversity.”
> Last week, following the release of a trailer, Deadline’s Ross A. Lincoln wrote that “based on the statuary and monuments that have survived, not to mention thousands of years of other cultures commenting on them, [ancient Egyptians] definitely weren’t white people with flowing, curly blond locks, and their gods were definitely not Europeans. To me, casting here stands out like a sore thumb leftover from 1950s Hollywood.”
>In the joint statements, Lionsgate responded to widespread criticism: ”We recognize that it is our responsibility to help ensure that casting decisions reflect the diversity and culture of the time periods portrayed. In this instance we failed to live up to our own standards of sensitivity and diversity, for which we sincerely apologize. Lionsgate is deeply committed to making films that reflect the diversity of our audiences. We have, can and will continue to do better.”
>Proyas’ statement reads: “The process of casting a movie has many complicated variables, but it is clear that our casting choices should have been more diverse. I sincerely apologize to those who are offended by the decisions we made.”

Memes aside, what is it you don't like about this guys directing?

Some of the quirky shit he adds to movies just screams "Look at me!" which is kind of obnoxious and in general he can come off as more of a fan of movies than a director. I don't hate him though and genuinely like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs.
>>
>>63112237
His films are popular so they're bad.
>>
He has the emotional maturity of a ten-year-old.

I'm not saying his isn't wildly talented; he is. The problem is that his films are given a reverence and analysis that they don't merit. Tarantino is a visceral filmmaker. But there aren't very many layers to peel back (aside from the odd homage to obscure films).

I'm still waiting for him to make a film for grown-ups. "Jackie Brown" is the closest he's come, and I think that's largely due to him using source material.

I'd love to see what he'd do with a great script he didn't write.

But anon, it's Malicks only actually good film.
>>
Let it sit awhile and give it another try down the road.

The first time I watched it I was very unimpressed and somewhat baffled at what others saw in it.

The tone is something hard to grapple with. Even in hearing people tell me what it's "supposed to be" I had a hard time really seeing that in the film.
