Ilum is special because it was rich in lightsaber crystals, and had many jedi temples built on top of it.
The planet could only be reached by force sensitives, as it was left off of star maps to ensure the planets protection
So this means one thing:
Sometime after endor, the knights of ren or Snoke traveled to ilum and built the super weapon on top

There is playful, which culminated in masterful portrayal of Reagan by Bruce Campbell, and there is clumsy, tryhard, Tarantino-esque comic book style of characters going into tirades for seemingly no reason other to mangle what used to be well placed thematic shifts.
Also fire the choreographer. And for fucks sake, make a show that doesn't use bloodsplatter as a crutch for lack of substance. Boardwalk Empire was painful enough.
