Are people seriously comparing TFA to the OT? What the fuck? The movie is on par with the prequels at best.

- Exact same plot about a brave tie fighter pilot managing to fly in at the nick of time and take out the ONE SMALL WEAKNESS in the base (there were a million other original ways to take down the base but instead they just copy pasted ANH)
- The setting that was painfully constructed over six movies removed and replaced with two sentences in the opening crawl and all the characters magically teleport to where they exactly were in ANH

They spend three movies developing how the sith slowly gain power, then three more movies on how the rebellion takes it back. Then suddenly this whole new empire the good guys created which is at the height of its power, gets rekt by the sith, who we were told were nearly extinct. All we get explaining this is two sentences in the opening crawl. In addition to this the new rebellion looks exactly the same as the old one and had the same leader.
