In the homebrew fantasy-ish setting our group has, I'd make the cat be a mind-controller. Through cruel management of his human resources, he'd slowly obtain magical artifacts and newest technology to create an army in his image.
In short, have him manage an army of elite human bodyguards/assassins and golem cats breathing fire or shooting beams out of their eyes. Also a lot of possibilities for him to taunt the party through killing important NPCs and so on.

The rules of the game:
This is a cooperative narrative, with some random chance involved sometimes. The players will vote on the actions of the main character and I will describe the results. Sometimes they will be based on a check.
In this case, three players roll a d100, taking the best result, and adding a bonus or a penalty based on your character’s capabilities, the situation, and the difficulty of the task at hand.
The success or failure depends on the final score, according to this table:
1-10: Epic failure with dire consequences
11-25:A failure with some negative consequences
26-50:A small failure with little to no negative consequences
51-75: A small success
76-90: A solid success
91-100: An epic success
A natural one is always an epic fail and takes priority over better results, and a natural 100 is always an epic success

You stand in fear of the figure. Long, draping Scarf, an overflowing crimson, more than scarlet deeper than red, wrapped about his neck and shoulders like a cape. And his eyes are far more than visible in contrast to the dark around you. No, his entire figure is saturated in a darkness darker than the moonless night. He—it’s voice sounded like a he—is unmoving, still as the dead and gaze steadily locked onto you, never wavering.
And behind him, not too far behind him, you see something thick wiggling within the dark. A tail. Fat and flexible.
You hear the clamor of the chains that glue you to the wall, and for a moment you wonder why they are making such a racket if you’re frozen in place. You soon realize, as you look to the wall, that it’s not the chains making the noise. It’s you.
Your body is instinctively trying to get away from the figure in front of you. Your body claws and grasps at the chains, trying to loosen them while the rest of you is pressed on the wall as far away from the figure as you can.
Something wicked has come your way.
The figure laughs and then narrows it’s eyes at you. “Oh, come now. There is no reason for you to get all frightened. Old Scratch isn’t going to hurt you.”

You gather up some snacks and a few drinks and stash them in your pack while Jennifer isn't looking, partly so that you won't have to pay for them and partly so that you can pull them out with a dramatic flourish later. There's little in the way of supplies for the cabin aside from some cleaning stuff, but you snag that as well. Jennifer is loading up on energy drinks, cough syrup, aspirin and a few odds and ends. You spot her giving you a wary glance before purchasing a pack of cigarette and slipping them into her coat. As you walk out of the store with Jennifer she sighs softly.
“Well, that's everything that I needed to get. I'm ready to head back to the school whenever you are. Though I believe you mentioned talking somewhere. Whereabouts should we head to?”
You consider the question for a few moments, debating where to go next.

Same system as Become The Dragon Quest. If you don't know what that is, it's best of three d20 rolls. I name a stat that sums up what you're trying to do, and if I don't name a relevant skill, you try to fill in the blank based on what you're trying to accomplish. “Break open the door” might be Strength based, but if you've been playing baseball after school and there's a lead pipe nearby, you could apply your Baseball skill to the roll. A 20 on the die is a crit threat, and if either of the other two rolls is 20 or higher after mods, it's a critical. A crit fail is when you have two or more 1s. So far this system has worked out well enough. We'll get into combat rules as needed, but in basic terms you have wounds, not HP, and the worse the wounds, the more penalties you accrue while doing other things.

With the air above ground still in rough shape most public areas were underground. There were plans to open up skylights in the larger courtyards once Terraforming had finished but for now subsurface malls and shopping centers filled the spaces connecting the residential buildings. Turning off and entering a siding the pilot quickly found the open access point and pulled up. They were just in time to see the blocky form of a Kavarian Y-type transport rumble past overhead, having just lifted off from the spaceport.
Now that they were above ground grains of sand from the dust storm pelted the small craft as it matched speed with the much larger cargo ship. The intensity of the sand barrage dropped off once they entered the larger ship's airstream. Repulsors were helping it cut through the atmosphere to reduce drag as it gained altitude and headed for orbit.
"I looks like the storm and ECM shielded from all ground sensors. Bring us in to dock."
Their pilot acknowledged and brought their small craft in towards the ship's topside.
Besides their main container block, many Y-type freighters were equipped additional passenger compartments along the ship's spine, or docking space for smaller ships. This one had retractable shuttle landing pads perfect for concealing their Raider.
With the protective airstream landing was simple enough and soon the pad was retracting, doors beginning to iris closed above them. In the seconds before they had closed completely another ship flew past, dangerously close to the freighter.
