Anyone feel like a 2020 thread?
So, roles are a fairly important part of character creation, but the way they're described some of them seem fairly incompatible.
That said how would you work the other roles (non-solo/cop) into a police campaign?

Lets have some fun and brainstorm a sci-fi setting /tg/.
Ill start us off with 3 simple beginning points.

Can we fight hive mind bugs that even though their technology is comepletly inferior, they somehow manage to infest worlds.
Players must figure out ways to combat these bugs who fight in a completly asymetric manner.

The only way to travel FTL is using the space horrors as fuel (with predictably spooky results). That's why they're REALLY mad at us.
Serves them right for killing so many of us during first contact, the tentacley bastards.
Taking down a space-shoggoth is no easy feat, though. FTL-capable vessels are rare as a result, and most of them are colossal carriers that ferry other ships to the edges of other star systems. Jumping too close to a gravity well is forbidden since The Incident.

Considering the day I had a question for you all. Let us say that you were to design a BBEG, or at least a hardcore monster boss fight that was based off whatever sin YOU commit most often. What would it look like? What would it do? What system would you use?
If you want to just go with generic sins the 7 great ones are:

4 Sloth
5 Wrath
6 Envy
7 Pride

A question for experienced DMs.
I've devised a setting and a campaign to take place in 1920's Kansas City. This will be something like my second time running a campaign anomy first time doing so with so much of my own material.
I've heard it said that you should use a game system you know very well when you DM. For me that means, either D&D 3.5 or Vampire the Masquerade. Of the two I think the latter is most transferable to the setting I'm imagining. Since I'm not certain that I want to do a vampire yet, I...

Have some inspirational images and maps
It isn't a bad idea, though your player characters are going to be relatively weak and squishy since they don't have any supernatural abilities. A campaign that ramps up the weirdness as it goes sounds fun.
Just make sure you take into account that these are mere mortals and you should be okay.

Looking to break into Warmahordes. I am quickly finding out that I am much more excited about actually playing the game than painting minis. How much flak can I expect to get if I show up with crappily painted.unpainted minis?
