I want to run a campaign in the Heroes of Might & Magic setting. Which system would be best?
>>46752913
The classic answer, but this time for real - GURPS.
Because you need to handle multitude of races, magic types, species, rather broad differences in technology and what not.
>>46753027
>not Reign
>>46753027
I was afraid of this. I've never been able to understand GURPS.
General purpose thread about games that don't have any digital scans or copies.
I'm starting work again in a few weeks and have thought about buying a copy of the Trunks/Android/Garlic book to take apart and scan, since literally 0 digital copies exist. I know the game is god awful, but I kind of adore it and want to make an archival effort.
If i do it, would anyone else care?

I would be, definitely. I've been trying to get my hands on a copy or PDF copy of this for awhile.
But it's a pretty big expenditure for an archival.
>>46752624
I'd love a copy as i have the first two
>>46752624
I've only known about the card games
the original forgotten one and the score ,panni ones
I'd definitely be interested in something like this
does it play like dnd ?
Say one day you come home and find that there's a new door in your bedroom that leads to an apartment in the middle of a fantasy world. In the second apartment is a note saying the apartment is in your name and the connection will follow you as long as you pay the rent (a nominal fee in gold).
What would you do with this portal?
I'll try to preemptively answer some questions I know will be asked
>The common species don't have access to magic
>There are however magic substances, so alchemy works
>The EM constants are slightly skewed; advanced electronics won't work
>>Or rather, recalibrating a computer to operate correctly is possible but you can't take your laptop in without breaking it
>There are no humans, but there are elves
>Society is on the cusp of the renaissance era, varying from region to region
>There are other modern earth people with similar apartments scattered across the world
>It seems to just be a money making venture on the part of your absentee landlord
>You speak the language and your antibodies are mostly transferable to the new biosphere
>>46752430
I would explore the land on the other side, and publish the stories about that in a best selling novel on my own world side, as a way to fuel further exploration of this fantasy world on the other side.,
look for a job i guess if i want to keep the place. If the rent is payed in gold then i can also sell some and pay my rent in this world too.
explore the city and surrounding areas a bit. live life in fantasy land while still keeping in touch with family in real world.
>>46752430
>Write down a lot of the shit that was invented during the renaissance era
>Take it with me into this new world
>Become this world's Leonardo Da Vinci of inventions
>???
>Profit
We need players for a Skype DnD thats basically GuP with ships.
The Navy Game involves high degrees of autism, both from the players and the mechanics.
The setting is an alternate history where aliens attacked during WWI, and WWII was instead the people of earth fighting this enemy. We start off in PRESENT DAY, so we have modern technology, however for the purpose of the game all the combat takes place using WWII and earlier ships, firearms, and costs (The US dollar is worth the same that it was worth in the 1940's).
Game time goes presently from 6:00pm to Midnight for UTC -5 (+DST). Refer to World Clock to figure out when that is for you.
If you are new to DnD, that's completely fine, just don't be an asshole all the time.
-There will be memes, and lots of them.
-You can waifu characters, and if there isn't a waifu for you, the DM knows how to make one for you*.
-You can rise through the Naval ranks as far as your abilities will take you.
-You are playing as yourself RIGHT NOW, so if you've got real life talents such as military training or even knowing how to cook, you can find a position aboard.
*DM is not God, and can not in fact make a perfect waifu for you if you are literal human garbage and a waste of oxygen.
>>46751990
Shameless bump
>>46751990
What are the mechanics like?
>>46752512
Basically you state your action and the DM rolls for you and plugs it into his modifiers to keep up the suspense. Its quite enjoyable when youre in the thick of things. There typically a 1-2 week period in between battles and weve already fucked up the Spanish, Turkish, and Romanian schools.
You can be whatever you really want to be within a fleet. Like Submarines, Destroyers, yadda yadda, aircraft, or even a Marine. If you want to hone your skills at something you say you want to practice it.
Post a better map than this one.Protup: Y'cunt
Good afternoon, /tg/!
A few days ago I posted a thread asking for help in filling out a pantheon of gods for a setting that I'm working on.
After getting a few suggestions I decided to limit the pantheon to a very manageable five gods, arranged in a seasonal cycle.
Now, though, I need to give them names! The culture that the players are going to belong to is very Viking-inspired, with elements of the pagan Celts.
The five gods are as follows:
The God of Time is also the god of Knowledge, Magic, and Justice. He is the King of the Gods and the Father of Men. As the Hub of the Wheel, his power doesn't wax and wane with the turning of seasons.
The God of Life is also the god of Earth, Planting, Fertility, and Passion. She is strongest in the Spring, when all is green and growing.
The God of War is also the god of Fire, Honor, Art, and Skill. He is strongest in the Summer, when blood runs hot.
The God of Death is also the god of Wind, the Harvest, Wealth, and Wisdom. She is strongest in the Fall, when things begin to fade.
The God of Peace is also the god of Water, Diplomacy, the Dead, and Luck. He is strongest in Winter, when the world is barren.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Vidtharr First-father (or Last-father at the end of the year)
Gefjun All-Earth
Thun the Red
Ilmarig End-Seeker
Sjofn the Quiet
>>46751885
These are pretty good!
Thanks!
>>46751637
>I need to give them names!
Do you really? You could as well name them after what they are. Why not just find translations for those words in an old tongue, or perhaps the words of the seasons, and use those?
As another side note, who is the mother of men? If it's not important that it be some non-god, why not make it Time? Making him both genders would preserve the gender balance you've got going on.
>>46751885
>Vidtharr
Viðar is a real Norse god though, who is unlike that description.
>Thun
If we're doing pre-roman stuff from the north and the isles, why not render it Þún?
What system would you use if you wanted to run a high school slice of life campaign?

FATAL to capture the deep despair of everyday life in highschool

Hey guys.
I'll host a fantasy game in a few hours and need some random tables. Enemies, dungeons, items, traps, goods. Anything you have.
Can you help me out?
Thanks.
>>46751188
You should have planned all of that beforehand, anon...
>>46751188
donjon.bin.sh has everything you need.
the only random table you'll ever need
>"Dungeons and Dragons can be perfected, but it will cost 400 million dollars and the game will be banned in every country in the world"
Thank God for the Internet then.
>>46751123
Let's get an actual thing going on here.
What content would something need to have to be banned in every country in the world?
Nazis will take care of a chunk of Europe, blasphemy will sort others, display of Abrahamic prophets would piss off the Islamic countries, and uncensored illustrations depicting pedophilia would wipe out several others.
Hello /tg/
Bare with me for a second, i'm gonna GM a campaign with Pathfinder, but I don't really feel like the system is good for what I want to do.
You see, i always found Pathfinder (and D&D) a system that fares relatively poor in giving the players options to either avoid combat or make it easier with strategy and cunning.
Generally, the greatest exaple of strategy is to try and get he option that gives you the biggest bonus so that ou can beat the monster's AC.
So I am tryng to come up with a new system that allows a more strategic take to battle.
First of all, in my campaign, monsters and the like will be somewhat rare (the main enemies will either be humans or humanoids) but generally a much highet threat for the party, with higher CR.
But, my idea is to give each monster some kind of weakeness that the party can exploit to win by studyng the enemy, find documents about it, laying traps and basically preparing to win the fight with the least amount of combat possible, since assaulting a creature head on would most likely end up in death or severe wounds.
Another point is kitting every monster with some kind of weak points. Part of the body that, if stricken, allow a character to bypass DR or score an automatic critical hit (i.e. when fighting a Wyvern, hitting the soft belly instead of the scaly back would bybìpass DR, while trying to land a difficult shot at the eye might be an insta-crit)
what are other good idea i could use to implement this?
bear in mind that for this kind of fights, I want them to fast and brutal, where recklessness almost always leads to unfortunate outcomes.
Also may or may not be an idea i came up with to teach my murderhobo players the virtues of patience and safety
>>46749557
Try The Witcher? I mean there is a quite decent tabletop RPG for that, created in '01. All the combat and magic rules were fan-translated
Just play something other than dnd/pathfinder, Jesus Christ.
>>46751489
Playing something else is not an option.
i want to try GMing pathfinder
>Goddess of fertility makes human impregnation impossible for the next fifteen years due to reasons.
What would be the realistic consequences of this action over the course of those fifteen years on society as a whole? Assuming humanity does not know that it has a fifteen year time limit.
What do you think, OP? Give us your ideas.

People will start blaming others as to who pissed off god. Some will say it's the millions of abortions, some will say it's the religious violence, some will say it's the capitalist greed and lack of nuclear family structure, and some will blame the Jews.
Hello good people,
I never thought i would be doing this but i ended up playing Dungeons and Dragons since a few weeks. The problem is i got lost in some chaos of fighting and i (Tiefling Warlock lvl8) shot a prisonguard with an eldritch blast. Now i'm wanted and i don't know how to evade the 'police'. Do you guys have any tips for me? I'm already wearing a disguise.
Inb4: Kill yourself, get arrested, stop playing.
>>46749084
You got to lvl 18 in a few weeks? Is playing RPGs your job?
>>46749122
That's a lvl 8. Still pretty fast unless they slaughtered and endless wave of enemies. I mean, I've been playing for 1 day a week, 3 hours a session for about 3-4 months and I'm level 6.
>>46749084
Take the Many Faces Invocation. Cast Disguise Self will everyday. You can never be yourself again.
Have you ever played any game that involves trading with a jew?
Because it is fucking hilarious.
>>46748399
All /tg/ hobbies start with buying something from a jew. Making a game about it seems a bit meta.
In Bohnanza, you can either choose to be a filthy casual or a Jew.HAAAVAAAA
>>46748399
I am the jew in all games I play
I don't mind half-orcs, gnomes or elves. I even have a soft spot for tieflings. But I fucking hate dragonborn.
Maybe it's because they were elevated to best race for any class in 4e. Maybe it's because they look stupid. Maybe it's because dragons are supposed to be the most magical, terrifying awe-inspiring creatures you'll find in D&D, and you shouldn't make them into a playable race. I just can't imagine an adventuring party hooking up with a dragonborn. You wouldn't travel with a lizardfolk, would you? Fuck dragonborn.
>>46748343
>wouldn't travel with lizardfolk
Fuck you I would.
>You wouldn't travel with a lizardfolk, would you?
>>46748355
You shouldn't. They'll just take your stuff.
>That moment your pc finds out that the dwarves could never tell the difference between humans and elves.
>And instead of admitting it, they have been trying to get both races to completely interbreed.
>>46746210
>dwarves are the ultimate wingmen to human males
>dwarf and human relationship get even better
I feel like that's too impractical to really be considered lazy. It doesn't seem particularly evil either. It's really just confusing
Does that mean dwarves are angry about humans too?
