What would a fantasy or scifi setting based on Australian Aboriginal culture/mythology/history look like?

I had an idea for a Sci Fi thing where aliens come to claim Australia as their own territory. The initial landing party is wiped out during a Maralinga nuclear test site during the 1950s, and in the following years Woomera becomes a kind of Area 51.
Eventually, a colony fleet turns up in 2010s and start trying to colonise the continent.
Fighter pilots patrolling the skies, ground troops and investigators flushing out alien colonies and invasion plots, recovering alien technology and retroengineering it, trying to communicate with what appear to be dozens of different alien species/social groups, etc, etc.

So they just stole a ton of wealth from a kingdom, and the magistrate that hired them on probably thinks they died.
I kind of made it easymodo for them, because the wererats were surrounded by their one weakness.
How should I approach this? I was going to have a bored lich that was scrying on the wererats see their defeat, and hire a tough mercenary party to try to rob them.

Also they're all level 3. And none of them have died yet, but they were close to death at three different points. They're all currently at 70% health except for the barbarian who's at 50%, and extremely exhausted due to lifting 200 .lb crates of ore through a mine.

1 pound of pure silver is worth 5 gp according to the Player's Handbook (5E), so a metric ton (2204.62 lbs) is worth 11,023 gp and 1 sp. For the sake of argument let's round that down to 11,000 gp.
Then, figure out how pure the ore is.

I don't really like crossovers because the themes tend to get very muddy, very fast. Rather than wibd up complementary, every single crossover game I've seen throws symbolic cohesion out the window in favor of a lame urban fantasy romp that loses out on the horror and the narrative meat of each game.

There is the extremely rare occation where I'll run a crossover, but only after making sure that everyone is on board with the style & theme.

You groan as you put a hand to your head. Oddly enough, you didn't feel any scarring or bandages and your hair was still present. Then again, with the healing waters of the repair docks, maybe all the physical indicators of the surgery had already been healed over.
You further look around the room, which was modestly sized. However, what you did notice was that a quick ping of your radar showed that the walls of the room thick. EXTREMELY thick, and made with a material that actually blocked your radar waves so you couldn't see past them. In addition, the door looked to be thick, armored steel held in place by an electronic lock, a little red blip indicating it was securely shut. Up on the ceiling, you could see what was unmistakably a surveillance camera, its sole lens glaring down at you like a curious bird.
Where was everybody?

Why do "those munchkinny powergaming minmaxing rollplaying hack and slashers who want to do nothing but kill things" get such a bad rep when there are classes (barbarian, fighter, etc.) that are pretty much 95% dedicated to fighting and barely have any utility outside of a fight?

You know the drill: pick a race (or races, if you guys wanted to have a mixed-race tribal society), and pick a starting area.
This is my first civ game attempt, but I thought that I may as well make one when I have an entire day to mess around with.
The race you guys pick will be very young and the first generation of their kind.
If a race is "exceptional" at something then it gets three d100s, if it is good then two d100s and if it is okay then it gets 1d100. However if something is a struggle then it is a 1d100 - 30.
Machines in volcano
30 and below is a failure, so you can see that with multiple d100s something becomes extremely easy to do and almost impossible to fail.
This fixes the issue I saw in that really awesome Unseen Civ where despite being exceptional at magic they always rolled too low while succeeding at war stuff.
This way something is made way more likely if it's said to be easy and much harder if said hard.

So, /tg/ I need your help.
My character (LE mid-level wizard) 's hometown is under siege from an elven army led by one of my party member, a female elven CM arcane archer.
Basically, she decided that as the magical daughter of an undead knight, it's her duty to expand his domain and chose my hometown because the Contraceptive Potion I made for her failed and because of that, she got pregnant while doing it with the sorcerer party and because Hormons, I guess.
I have in game 2 weeks before the elven army should arrive, but smaller bands of archers have started doing guerrilla style attacks here and there. Some tried to attack the School that I funded and to hurt some of my students, but didn't manage to do anything.
The city is small, 2000 - 2500 people at most, is a trading town with fortified walls and fluvial docks on the west side of town. I managed to get for my town some cannons and crates of firearms from a diplomatic mission I made months ago and some war machines from the last time we got under siege.
I'm worried, because the GM is currently banging the elf player, and he is deeply in love with her. She is a good player, but she got very strong-overpowered stuff in the last month, like immunity to illusions and some others powers from being the magical daughter of a Death Knight, who can kill people with touch and a word, and a elven female sorceress which is the most powerful mage in the setting.
Also, the elven realm dominated by this Dead Knight has raised an army of 2000 soldiers, despite the population being 2100 in total and they have started to cut down trees to build war machines.
So, what should I do?

Dude, you're in trouble. The DM will rule against you whenever opportunity arises, e.g. if you send scouts out, 'by chance' they will be ambushed and reveal your secrets etc
What level are you specifically? Asking so that we can get an idea what capella you have access to.
