You're last character is now in a gameshow similar to wipeout, only with people beating the crap out of each other as they run a obstacle course filled with deadly traps. I do mean deadly, sawblades and shit. The good part is that the prize for surviving said course is your setting's equivalent of a dragon's hoard and the main tosser who got you in this mess put a bullseye on his shirt and is standing at the end of said course.
How would your character try to get through said course and what will they do if they survive?
Run through it as expected. He's pretty awful at most everything but surprisingly great at running and feats of dexterity. An obstacle course is probably the one sort of thing that he'd actually be good at, apart from straight races.
Depends solely on how much fire is there. Fire is problem.

Continued from yesterday:
So I'm a noob DM who next weekend will be setting up a new D&D campaign set in a desert continent known as Zaru'gesh.
Any tips for a noob DM, ideas for cool npcs/encounters/stories, or decent desert-esque pics to share?
Feel free to turn this into a general desert-themed game thread.
I'll post a compilation of ideas I copy-pasted from helpful anons last night for those interested:
>Exotic Caravans
>Harem Girls
>Oasis Paradises
>Sphinx riddles.
>Scorpions.
>Chariot archers.
>Depending on magic levels, sailboats which fly just barely touching the sand, driven by wind.

I mean... seriously? Nothing better to do in your games than random table of possible encounters?
>>46779177
I'm just coming up with ideas that will hopefully inspire further ideas. I'm also a noob at d&d (only played like 4 sessions total) and especially noob at DMing. Don't hate the noobs.
Character concept:
>Barbarian woman that likes to kick heads
How would you flesh this out
Basic questions like where she's from and what her goals are. Think of yourself as interviewing a character for the job of protagonist.

That's a real good way to break your foot.
Maybe my Elegen/tg/entlemen can help me out here.
I am looking for a LARGE, sepia-toned fantasy map. When i say large, I mean MASSIVE. It had like 3-4 continents, all with odd, foreign sounding names for locations. It was heavily wooded on the northern end IIRC, it sounded almost German in it's naming conventions.
I know it's not a lot to go on, but I've been looking for this for years and haven't been able to re-find it.
If someone could help, I'd be super duper appreciative.
Regardless, lets dump some stuff, Fantasy Map thread!
checked my collection but don't seem to have anything that fits
oh well, love me some maps though
>>46777763
I think I've seen a picture like that a few times on /tg/. Have you looked through any map threads on the /tg/ archives?
>>46778292
No, I wouldnt know where to start looking.
What would be a good system for a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon campaign?
Mutants and Masterminds
Mh, tough question really...
The only thing I can come up with is killing yourself for being a faggot. :^)

Ah yes, this is the quality I expected from 1/2chan.
Are there any good RPGs for running Greek Myth style settings?
Mazes and Minotaurs
>>46777282
GURPS
What do you consider defining features of Greek Myth style settings?
>gods are real
>gods are predominantly complete cunts
>various kinds of deviancy are part of the norm for gods and mortals alike
>hero can reach power of dozens commoners
Anything else?
Do the other people at the table "get" your characters?
>>46777263
No, they see the disguise, not what's underneath. And that's okay.
Nobody in my party gets me!
Ugh! Omg mum, this is just... like... who I really am!'
I'm going to my room!
>plays a ng cleric who just wants the world to be less dangerous for the common man
>is viewed as a nice mace-wielding priest with a bunch of holy glow effects who rarely gets upset
Yeah it pretty much adds up.
I was never really into Wharhammer - some of my old gaming buddies were, that's about it. But recently I decided it'd be interesting to get into it.
So, uh ... it's not just me, right? Warhammer has suddenly gone to shit in the last few years?
The fantasy gameline has been entirely killed off in favour of some "Age of Sigmar" bullshit, 40k has had time frozen, all the new Necron fluff is shit ...
Would it be crazy to consider filing the serial numbers off and creating a fan edition that's actually balanced and stuff? It seems...

>40k has had time frozen
Its a setting, not a metaplot.
>>46776929
Didn't they used to advance? I remember hearing about tournaments that would alter the fluff for the next edition, various Tyranid fleets, and of course the Necrons all woke up just before they ran out of years in the 41st millenium.
Maybe I'm wrong though, I'm not an expert in any way.
>>46776807
People need to get it out of their heads that "Warhammer 40,000" is going to enter the year 50,000 ACE. Seriously, guys, its in the freaking name. If we DO see the plot advance, all the fans are going to be screaming "Noooo! Your Age of Sigmaring 40k! Stop it!" regardless of what GW actually does.
What we really need to ask for is more tales from the past 10,000 years. I mean, more time has passed since the emperor fell than the entirety of human history up to this point. There should be...

Continuation of >>46737037
Continuing our discussion from last thread, working out our armor colors and whether or not we should have a calling card. We've also got a summary and some writefaggory buried in there, if someone could go find them since I'm be yelled at to get back to work!
>>46776667
The calling card doesn't make much sense considering they're supposed to be operators operating operationally. If you want the wine to be a calling card, it's something they should send to the Ecclesiarchy after they complete a mission.
>>46776667
>>46776931
A calling card would be out of place since they're supposed to go unseen most of the time.
Maybe they include wine in their ceremonies or involve it in the occasional assassination, but leaving glasses of wine everywhere they go seems silly.
Everyone happy with this? (Added red trim to integrate it more.)

modularity.
diverse theme templates to put on the modular sections.
lots of roll charts.

A campaign in a desert setting.
tons of tombs to raid, political intrugue between religions, trading of valuable materials such as water and salt, etc.
Out of all the systems/settings you've homebrewed, which one had the most unique classes?
I can't speak for much, but i made a martial class that fought using spirits and willpower. Worked out fine, but was sadly widely inconsistent. At times it deleted combat encounters, sometimes could barely hit opponents.
>>46776240
Those without classes.

Is a Paladin an ordained member of the clergy?
Could he pronounce two people to be husband and wife? Perform Burial rites? Or is that more the Cleric's area of expertise?
>>46776178
ask your DM, not us
generally speaking, no. paladins are knights, not clergy. i imagine specific paladins could be members of the clergy if they wanted.
I've always imagined that clerics were just priests in light armor and paladins are priests in heavy armor
>>46776178
In what setting?
Bored of D&D. What system should I try instead, and why?
Not enough search terms, please specify your query.
