i suddenly decided to join the x-wing tourney at my lgs this saturday and i ordered the 2 core sets which i will pick up today.

Diaspora's ship combat is pretty sweet. It's all about managing your heat levels. Max out your equipment and you risk cooking your crew.

Homeworld-like. Huge ass motherships surrounded by an armada. Like a hive of bees, sometimes they duke it out with other drones or they go straight for the queen.
Then when two motherships are in range it's magnificent.

My group and I are gonna try out the fifth edition of D&D, to which I made a setting which is very much inspired by iron-age ireland, with a very classic game plot of "get the macguffins".
Lorewise, a great bard gathered the party by an ancient standing stone with three holes. He recruits the party to gather the three thingies that goes into the stone, claiing that this will break the hold the hags have over their peoples destiny and stop everything from going to shit.

Still trying to figure out a non-miracle-based healing system for Athar. One of my big complaints about DnD in general is the assumption that no other form of medicine would ever be developed besides organized religion's fucking monopoly.

This is a heavily system-dependent matter. D&D 3.X, Pathfinder, D&D 4e, D&D 5e, 13th Age, Strike!, Dungeon World, and all manner of fantasy heartbreakers have a wide variety of non-divine healing abilities.
For that matter, I have always thought that the Athar should provide some sort of civil service to Sigil, seeing how the majority of the factions do so. It would be interesting if the Athar ran the Cage's healthcare system (via non-divine means, obviously) so as to undermine divine healing.
I've been thinking a lot about Baatezu politics recently, and could someone please remind me what's special about Glasya again?
Something about her not being 'bound to hell' that Asmodeus wants to exploit, or something like that; I don't quite remember.
One of my fellow players has expressed the sentiment that, "If the DM didn't want the info to be known by the entire party, he wouldn't have told any of the party members." Do you find this to be true? What about for info given to a player behind closed doors or in notes?
Do you have any entertaining stories involving revealing secrets at the wrong time, or a PC lying about privy information?

We have no hidden information OOC. Ingame characters know what they know and we just try to avoid metagaming.
It keeps people engaged and it's very entertaining to witness how somebody tries (and possibly fails) to conspire against your character, or to watch how your character just walks into a setup you perfectly know of.

I give my players secrets on notes, and I leave it up to them whether or not to share the info. Even the best RPer can let meta-gaming slips happen from time to time, and they know that, so most of the time they keep it to themselves.I also like to tell them useless private information throughout the game, so they're unsure if I'm pulling them toward something or not. What are some encounters I could throw at my party besides the usual "a thief/beggar/guard approaches you and causes issues" when they visit towns? They visit towns a lot.
Festivals and carnivals are always fun. Giant flea markets are neato. Disgruntles mobs are as well.
Why do your players "visit towns a lot"? Do they just roll through random places for no reason, and each week you have to tell them that they're in another generic hamlet filled with generic sights?
If there isn't a reason for them to be there, then why are you spending time fleshing out what happens there?

They see that (material they can somewhat reliably acquire) is selling at a high cost as it becomes a popular fad and realize they can make fat stacks of cash by playing the market.
Is there a magic system like this
Lets say you want to make a generic fireball spell:
Elemental type attacks cost +10
Normal Damage cost +5
Requirement clap your hands 3 times -5
Requeriment tell your oponent that you are going to strike him with a fireball -5
so in the end the spell cost only 10 magic points

Put the clerk to work sorting our loot and shit.
From what I've heard clerks were really into murdering people back then so they'll probably fit right in. Keep them and continue looking for a healer of some kind, when possible.

There's this one about a soldier who gets wounded in a battle with chaos and his wound ends up growing teeth and shit and he slowly falls to corruption. I can't remember what it is called though.
Is it a cheap tactic to throw an unkillable foe at the PCs (like a Tarrasque) if they're derailing the campaign too much and need to be nudged in the right direction and/or taken down a few pegs when they get too powerful?

If the only way you have to keep players "on track" (whatever that means) is by lining the "track" with unkillable kaiju it might mean that your game sucks.
