Spooky Tranquil Shinomen Mori Edition.
>Topic: How spiritual do your games get?
Do you ever involve shenanigans from Sakkaku or ghosts from Gaki-do? If so are they an important feature of your campaigns.
What are your thoughts on the alternate setting of Togashi's Empire? Do you want a Night Parade of 100 Demons coming into your town and shining their butthole eyes at drunken samurai?
How are your games going and if you're not in one now, what type of game have you always wanted to play in or run with the system/setting?

Togashi's Empire is easily my favorite alt-history setting from IH2. I think the Cat Empress plot is one of the coolest tidbits from that section.
I haven't used tricksters or ghosts yet, but I love animal spirits from Chikushudo having fun pretending to be humans in general. You can have a lot of fun with animal archetypes that way.

I'm focusing in on Yumeji as a big element in the campaign I'm running now. Party had their first weird foray into Yume-do last night,. They had a strange conversation with a Blue Lantern spirit that wanted to know why they prevented its assassination attempt on their Aunt, and then they talked to a bird spirit who had choice words for the Kuni shugenja and her make-up choices. They're starting to figure out why people seem to be either insomniacs or narcoleptic.

I've had a very uptight kitsune appear in several points of my games as both a magical fox and Totally A Real Samurai Guys. It is fun

<You're being ridiculous> Robert says quietly, into your mind.

Not but seriously I have no clue what's pissing her off.
GW wakes up one day and smells the shitsack they're sitting on. They realize everything they've done wrong up until this point. They are ashamed and they want to make reparations. They come to you. What does the new GW look like. Better yet, what does GW change in 40k?
For me, it's like this:
Story gets advanced.
Minis are sold for cheaper, with better quality assurance. Newbies getting into 40k is actually plausible without breaking the bank.
All mechanics undergo critical review. Things are balanced or nerfed.

For me, it's like this:
Shutter the B&M stores and cut RRPs 50% across the board so the product actually becomes salable in real gaming stores owned by businessmen who know that it includes a built-in guaranteed demand. Release the inbred faggots currently writing the rules and replace them with a horde of rabid WHW fluffmonkeys wrangled and edited by runtherdz with math degrees. Inform CAD that they'll no longer be paid to work on flimsy wedding cake toppers, but may be kept on if they can produce rugged, durable yet evocative military model designs suitable for daily handling without constant fucking repair.
Bring back the bits service, host public forums with mandatory developer interaction, give away eWD for free, sell dead tree WD for the same price as a comic book, but have it include exclusive Konversion Korner and Chapter Approved articles, drag Tom Kirby to the kerb and have him flogged out of town with range rulers, and ... tea time!
Well, that's Monday sorted.
But there's always tomorrow ...

Grimore. A relic of old magic from the beginning of modern history, and one that has evolved through the passage of time. Once, they were simple scrolls of animal skin or papyrus, so very fragile and easily breakable. In the dark ages, warlocks carried with them thick tomes of vellum as they traversed through the Old World. And prior to the COMP’s debut in 1987, it was not uncommon for agents to carry incognito penny dreadfuls while on assignments.
But in spite of nearly four thousand years of human history, its purpose has...

Only now do you notice that there are some sort of fragments that run along the corners. Errant designs, superfluous fragments of shapes and sketches that you figure to be without purpose or necessity.
“Okay, you see ‘em, right? Now watch this…”
You watch with rapt attention as Fitz manipulates the dials on her COMP. The six pages, each with their own intricate designs and circles, come together on the display. Like a jigsaw puzzle, the images slowly come together, incomplete designs and fragments forming a cohesive whole as they line up to form…

As MacKay begins to talk to her about why it’s bad to badmouth one’s superiors, you can feel the onset of a headache. From the six faded circles, you can deduce that there are least six demons of unknown species and malignant agenda are out somewhere in the town. Six demons that are, logically, the whole damn cause behind the kidnappings.
And within the pages of the whole damn grimoire, something else is lying dormant and just waiting to bust out. Or be let out. You’re not sure which is worse, of it getting out on its own or an external force letting the damn thing...

The key to understanding current MTG price bumps is that this is not a speculative bubble. This is a rationalization of the market. When you have an extremely limited supply of cards and you have the demand that exists, as it does, these are absolutely where the prices should actually be. Speculation isn't driving these cards high, and so you shouldn't expect some kind of "bubble" to burst. There are only two things that are going to drive cards down:
1) Prices become so high that it genuinely causes people to stop playing. Which doesn't drive...

Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.

Eyes of wildfire. Your mother once called them that, shining with bright unyielding flame through light of day, murmuring in soft whispers of emerald flame even in the dark of moonless night. Passion was their spark, fanned by emotion into a roaring inferno that set your mind to unending drive and purpose. Of the past decade it felt the only time they were aflame was when your heart also burnt with anger. With hate. With desire for revenge. As emerald flame washes over the broken body of Lord Quentyn Qorgyle, you again feel that desire, that purpose, the need once more, your body pacing, arms never comfortable by your side or crossed in restless inaction. He was an ally, a friend in some regards, a rival in others. Another target upon your line that stood in such defiance against those that had wronged your family. Beside his bed sat your Maester, Benjin, who was quick at work setting his arm. Three broken bones in the left arm, he had landed on that side, his shield breaking the fall and potentially saving his life. His head was bloody and bruised where it had hit after, chest swollen from broken ribs, similarly bruised and heaving heavily even after Benjin had treated him with milk of the poppy, and his leg that had been pinned under the thrashing horse looked mangled, likely just as broken as his arm. He would walk again, he would hold a weapon again Benjin said, though without the usual confidence in his voice, a rare thing, a poor thing to your ears.
Ser Quellon Qorgyle stands over his bed, keeping his head in place as Maester Armenda, Prince Oberyn Martell’s maester, stitched his flesh together again. You can see the turmoil in his own eyes, less of a burning rage like your own but one of calculated anger. Others among the pavilion whispered it was a slight that Ser Cardyn Lantell had been awarded the victory despite such a dishonorable act, that eyes looked the other way. The chivalry and honor amongst Knights the Reach was known for, lost upon the moment.
The Dornishmen and women about you wore emotions upon their sleeves, obviously slighted, further pained. Though none so much as Lady Obara Santagar, and the two boys, Gulien and Arron, your passing pauses long enough to giving them passing looks in a different section of the tent, Obara seated with her face in her hands, tears streaming down her cheeks, Gulien hugged at his mother’s side tears of his own upon his cheeks, and Arron standing a bit off, eyes upon the floor his face a mask though a poor one still so obviously shocked and scared. Lady Ellaria Sand sits next to...

“After that I could hardly call them otherwise,” you state simply, your fingers idly play with the rings upon your pinky finger, too restless to do simply sit, “Your brother… Obella knew nothing of what your spoke, I find myself knowing and understanding even less.”
“For good reason Lord Malroy. She did not need to know the perils you would face here in Highgarden. Do you truly think she would have let you go if she knew there was not one man here with intent to kill you, but rather seven?”

A Djin appears and offers you 3 wishes but each has a caveat.
The first wish will give you too much of what you wish for. If you wish for gold, it will pile more and more until it destroys its own worth. If you wish for women they will come and they will destroy you. If you wish for immortality you will be faced with the emptiness of oblivion for eternity while everyone else knows the peace of rest.
The second wish will give you too litter of what you ask. If you wish for gold you will recieve barely enough for a new set of clothes. If you wish for beauty then...

I'll tell you all who is who now:
Angus - An orc from Dundee. Originally a greengrocer but also horrendously proficient with the flamethrower he carries. The flamethrower doubles as a thermic lance.
The bard - A human, wears a kilt, plays the bagpipes. Occasionally has great ideas. The DM uses his own taste in music for what the bard actually plays (so usually classic rock or country & western).
Cruella - Essentially a Dark Eldar wych wearing more clothes. She is vicious and stealthy. Armed...

The consensus is that it's something to do with time travel, the bard dissenting because obviously it's whales....

What's your budget? Bogles is easier to skimp on since Horizon Canopy's are non-critical. Infect is easily the best of the three but Hierarchs and Mistys aren't cheap or non-critical. Dredge isn't a spike deck.

I thought Dredge was more spike than Bogles? I'm looking at an initial buy in of 100 or so, then spending as much as 1k or more over time. I will say I love Pauper boggles.
