Do you do PvP ever? what are your experiences with it?
>>48207530
Not in 5th, but in 4e we had a Encounters game where we were all 1st level and one player had a Blackguard. When we encountered some innocents the Blackguard player said "I kill them!". Initiative was rolled, everyone else in the party beat the blackguard, and threw all their attacks at him, killing him before he could do anything. To my knowledge that guy never played D&D again.
>>48207530
The one time my players pvped, it was a cleric vs. a warlock, in a just for fun type thing. The cleric succeeded on his save against hold person, and the warlock didn't. That was that.
>>48207530
If its 1v1 nothing can beat amoon druid at low to mid levels, as long as hes decded to sink all his days resources into it.

How does TG feel about this scalper eyeballing the reserved list?
Will investors ride the coattails of this announcement?
Will Wizards reevaluate the reserved list in general?
Just media nonsense?
It would be retarded to try and buyout the Reserved List en masse. Yeah, the higher the prices go the more the cards are technically worth, but the harder they are to actually move. He'll very easily cross the threshold into having shit that's too expensive for anyone to be buying.
>>48196810
Not disagreeing with you, but isn't that kinda this guy's thing? Owning shit no one else can afford? E.g. the WU Tang Album.
>>48196810
The more of the reserved list that ends up in the hands of one man, the less incentive and reason there is for keeping it rare.
With some luck, he will buy enough of the cards and invest quite a lot of money in to them only to have depreciate 99%

Good morning boys and girls, and welcome to your vaguely-regularly scheduled AAJ Thread!
Reminder for spoiled cards: I can give you the best answer I can give, but it MIGHT be incorrect for some wonky shit that I'd need to know the actual CR of the mechanic for, and some rules might change between now and the release of the set, changing answers. Take all spoiler answers with a grain of salt.
How does Morph interact with Emerge?
>>48176622
Poorly. Face-down creatures have a CMC of zero.
>>48176622
The CMC of a face-down creature is 0, so unless for some reason Emerge looks at the CMC of the card in the graveyard, it's not gonna work that well except as a sac outlet.
Welcome to the MTG flake/lore thread!
Previously: Fewer fetish shit this time. A bunch of custom cards (which is wicked fun), many of which are for flakepoint. People debated to ending the snowstorm, but ultimately we've agreed to just use a new snowsheet for new flakes. Also, until I get that new sheet rolling, I'm still using the old one. Some debate about angels and demons happened. We should start making flavor decks and playing with them for our flakes. That would be cool.

REMINDER:
If you want ANYTHING to go in the repo, just summon me. Otherwise I will only put writefagging and sheets in the repo.
Also, I added the blank template to the ALL FLAKESHEETS folder. And the old snowsheets are under "Snowstorm sheets" > "1- ALL FLAKE SHEETS."
To summon me simply say
>OP OP, I SUMMON THEE. PLACE THIS FILE IN THE REPOSITORY.
Unless that's too gay.

Those custom commanders are really sweet. I especially like the RWB one - maybe because it's competition is really shit atm

I don't think you need to specify "aren't on the battlefield" in the fourth one.
>>48211049
the temur guy seems pointless as hell, also not sure you can "reveal" a card from an already revealed zone, only from your hand or library

First for Bretons.
Are Beastfolk sentient races that were tainted by non-Aedric forces? With the earlier they were tampered with being proportional to how much they could be changed?

good la.
Anyone else annoyed that they gradually moved Bretons away from being Brits and towards being filthy frogs? The french are already represented among the Mediterranean Imperials.
So got talking to a friend today and I was wondering:
Is it possible to kit out a VCX-100 or any ship around that mark really, well enough to be able to take on a Star Destroyer in Edge of the Empire and its sister systems?
Naturally, this is assuming you have rules, splatbooks, etc.
This is just hypothetical fun really.
Hardmode: The ship still has to be able to function as a freighter.
A star destroyer was taken out by a kamikaze A-Wing.
The real question is not if it can function as a freighter, but if you want to survive.
>>48221112
Let's assume the party (read: the Pilot) doesn't want to French kiss the Star Destroyer in the process of destroying it.
Actually, if anyone has storytime of space combat shenanigans, OP is listening as well.
How would you run a dark and depressing game in the vein of darksouls and darkest dungeon?
What are the key points?
If you're gonna use D&D you have to run it human-only.
>>48206805
To start with, I would use something OSR or simmilarly down to earth and open to modification.
I would also say you need to be on point with your descriptions, particularly of combat. Don't use fantasy physics, try and make everything seem weighty and believable.
Low level, restrict spells and caster class selection. Healing should be rare and injuries need to have more impact than "Hey cleric can you use your infinitely replenishing level 1 spell slots to heal 6 damage?"
"What I Made..." thread

Repostan.
On October 18th, 2056, a deep space probe was launched on a extrasolar track, as many probes were during its decade,
to explore exoplanets for research, with the promise of potential colonization. It was this probe, FNI-1856, that would
make a promise to humanity, of a future among the stars. When the first bits of data from the entangled communicator
came through, the results were well beyond what was expected. Instead of being full of argon & nitrogen gases like the
scans had detected, the inner atmosphere was rich with oxygen, a thriving ecosystem, and signs of biological life beyond the flora. It was paradise.
Upon the surface of the planet was a material that defied the laws of physics. When exposed to a substance, and given electric current, the material would rend into existence the exact same material, at a near 2:1 ratio. While it was clear what materials had been generated through this method, they were identical in use and form. It was this material that ripped apart the Foundation's Arkship, the Abyssal.
No records exist of what happened the day the Abyssal arrived. Only that huge segments of the ship crashed to the planet and lodged themselves deep underground. The porous rocks and huge vaulted caverns gave way to the sections of reentered ship, enveloping them, and their secrets. Regardless of the catastrophic damage, sections of the ship where the colonists had remained in stasis managed to jettison, and scatter across the planet. These would be the humans that would stake their claim upon the harsh, alien landscape, and eventually return to the stars.

= Name: Devon Macintyre
= Age/Sex: 37, Male
= Ethnicity/Country of Origin: White, United States of America.
= Occupation before leaving Earth: Ship Maintenance and repair technician.
= Foundation Member (Y/N): N
= Fluff: Devon is by all accounts a troublemaker. He drinks too much, is an ornery bastard drunk or sober, and in general is a smug asshole who can make tempers flare faster than donuts disappear at a weight watchers convention.
His one saving grace, indeed the one thing that got him out of the slums of New PhillyBostonia, is his ability to make metals dance under his guidance. He can fix just about damn near anything with the most meager of supplies. One Foundation member was even on record as saying, "If we gave Macintyre the ship's weight in steel wool, he'd knit us the ship together in a week." While this is hyperbole Devon did once manage to keep a oil tanker he was on from sinking with three rolls of duct tape and two canes.
Born in the slums of the east coast acropolis of the U.S. Devon lead a sparse and hard life. he picked up a toolkit and ability to repair quickly. New things were expensive and it was far better to repair a chair or wall panel than build a new one, especially when getting a new one might mean going without food for a week. This hardship and general suffering in his youth lead to extreme cynicism on Devon's part, and a taste for debauchery and excess when he came into money. This of course lead to problems all over for him with people who account for debts whether legally or illegally and Devon started to wander, both to escape the arcology and to avoid debt collectors. He predicated and sustained his wandering by taking increasingly difficult repair jobs in different areas.
Given the harsh nature of his work and the ever escalating conflicts world wide due to resource shortages. Recruiting Macintyre for repair work in case of emergencies was incredibly easy as long as the paycheck was big enough, given his debts.

= Name: Professor Richard Wissenschaft
= Age/Sex: Male, 35
= Ethnicity/Country of Origin: Caucasian, USA
= Occupation before leaving Earth: Professor of Material Science
= Foundation Member (Y/N): Y
= Fluff: Professor Wissenschaft was one of the most acclaimed men in the field of Material Sciences back upon earth. He is a neat and orderly person, believing everything to have a place and purpose. He disliked using low tech methods and always preferred to use the most advanced tech when given the option, whether in business or in his personal life. When the news of a new substance that broke the laws of physics was discovered he was snatched up, along with nearly every other material scientist whose name was known, and stuffed aboard the Abyssal. For some reason, and against the plan he knew of, Richard was not woken up to study the material. This is probably what saved his life in the resulting destruction.
