How would one stat wendigos from Until Dawn?
I assume by picking a system, then using the stats and abilities related to the Wendigos from Until Dawn to create a roughly identical creature?

Are races racist and technology keep secret within different races, so a kind of difference in weapon tech between races occurs, or is it more a multiple race mixing occurrence?
Hey, /tg/. I got a question concerning Air cavalry during the age of sword and bows in fantasy.
In a land filled with airborne beings such as dragons, hippogriffs, griffons, and the like used primarily as air cavalry, how would this change the battlefield for those on the ground? How would one counter the flying beasts from the ground without the use of magic or gunpowder based weaponry? Is there no way to counter them without magic or gunpowder?
How would castles defend such an attack? Would they take on a new shape to counter such an attack and keep them at bay?

I'm assuming two scenarios: one where air cavalry are used like the Nazgul in LotR; shock and awe, with swooping melee attacks; and one where they're more Mongolian and use bows and arrows to rain death from above.
In the first scenario, the best way to deal with them would be Pikemen, same as standard cavalry. In the second, things become a little more difficult. I would assume that adopting a Testudo formation (see attached...

Probably just masses of archers, not much else would be able to track a flying target fast enough and provide enough volume of fire if you rule out gunpowder and magic.
Other options would rely on ingenuity and luck. For example, I'd imagine you could perhaps come up with some sort of chain shot to fire out of a ballista, but I doubt itd be very useful or even able to hit the target.
Essentially, youd either need aircav of your own, or would have to wait for them to come to you. However unlike...

Hey tg. Currently building a fantasy setting for an upcoming campaign.
In the world I'm planning on having two major city states in a sort of cold war situation. The two will not actually fight or be real enemies with each other, but their governing bodies work hard to give the illusion that they are so do that their people work hard and have a sense of unity.

I don't agree with all his DMing philosophy. I think partly cause he is pretty tradtionalist like >>47764031 mentions, but he's pretty good at telling newbies the basics and being good about "this is just what works for me, other ways work for other people, but I really can only recommend what works for me."

Ok so here's my idea, lets assume they don't know what their characters get for languages. Give the wizard the ability to speak a language that no one but one other person speaks in the party, then make the other person a barbarian or similar low int character, Should make it interesting to have them convey plans, even better if the low int is serious about low int roleplay.

Yeah. Super heavy railroading. Basically the warlock tried to sell a deed that ended up being fake. He didnt know that. Noone in town saw me with them but i muat have known where he was, when i walked out of a shop on my own. I even pointed the guards in the right direction to find him. I got arrested anyways. I broke out dressed as a guard and went to get my gear back. And a random prisoner knew i wasnt a guard and somehow called for the guards to stop me. One was Session 1 railroading to get the party together. The other was intentional so that our rogue could sneak into the keep which he managed to poison all the food there and kill off most of the guard as we incited riots throughout the city.

Not prison, but my Mage was stuck in the tank for 24 hours once because he smartmouthed a Cop.
Then there was the time my Super-Criminal had to get himself arrested to break someone out of Prison. Got himself arrested on charges of aggravated assault, plead guilty, then Hulked out and broke down a few walls escaping.
Would you ever run an RPG where the battles are large and players control a hero and up to say 10 other models on like a real table top and similar rules used for games like 40K or Chainmail? This is how I played 40K back in '87 or so...
